Arc awoke as the sun shined through the window of his room. Stretching with a yawn he looked over to his table, prepared to create a new repair crest, only to notice that the original one was still there. Quickly checking his status he was amused by the change.

It appeared his MP regenerated quite quickly while he slept. No overwhelming growth in levels or stats outside of the large jump in the repair crests level. Arc concluded that for now at least he still was not showing signs of falling into the main character category as he possessed no overwhelming cheat like abilities. This was agreeable to him as he did not want the drama that came with being an overpowered cheat.
Gathering all of the perfectly repaired items into a sack he made his way down to the support training area where he had spent much of the previous day. Acquiring new items to repair before getting to breakfast meant an extra crest or two for the day.
Meeting Vurget when he arrives Arc hands over his current sack of repaired items and explains what happened the night before, causing his Dwarven mentor to burst out laughing.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Boy you've gone an' donit now. Over-reparin' was meant to be a lesson fer today. You've made my job a bit easier"
Refusing to explain further Vurget directs Arc to create a new repair crest and instructs him in charging the crest so he can walk away from it. He then arranges for a few servants to monitor the repairs while the crest is active.
Having placed his crest Arc makes his way to the kitchens for his breakfast. Along the way he overhears some of the castle staff and other students gossiping about the events of the previous day. Very little of interest catches his attention, but gossip rarely does. It doesn't really matter that Christina has more than a few new admirers among the local populace, nor does it matter that Tiffany is livid about it. Such things are expected, its just a repeat of the events of school.
While enjoying a breakfast of some sort of soup and sweetbread combination a few others join arc and talk about the events of the day before.
"Being a martial is painful, especially facing someone like Markus", comments an overweight boy named Edmond, "Even with my class one hit sends me rolling!"
"Better then being apart of the magical group, between Tiffany making clones of people and Randal abusing his weird confusion magic its hard enough to learn my own capabilities" Replied Scott, a lanky teen with red hair and an old burn scar on his cheek.
"Support has been slow going", Arc added to the discussion, "I haven't seen anyone with creepy powers yet but they split us all up because we all work in different ways."
The discussion continued until they finished breakfast and split up to to to their classes for the day.
"Good morning summons", Vurget started his instruction for the day, "today we shall discuss magical effects."
A magical effect, as it is explained is a temporary or permeant magical change to an item. These can be enhancements, or diminutions of a variety of types. The most common being simple stat buffs and debuffs, causing a minor change to the capabilities of the recipient for a short time.
"Our Crestmaker here, Arc has provided an excellent demonstration of what is commonly known as an accidental enhancement", the instructor said while placing a table knife on display for everyone to see.
"Yesterday, this was an ordinary table knife. after a night of repair treatment however, this has becomes a rank one table knife. This is due to a phenomenon we refer to as over repairing." He stated while demonstrating the table knife cut through a thin iron sheet.
The instructor went on to explain how repeated applications of certain magical effects caused the items or people they were applied on to acquire them permanently. While a person getting a permanent effect was rare, and exceedingly difficult, items gaining them were much more common.
As Arc was learning the basics of what his repair crest could do when pushed, the Magical class was having a bit more difficulty.
"I told you to stop using me!"
"Why should I, you make a very good servant"
"Because its sick and wrong just like you and your stupid power"
Lisa, a creationist whos abilities allowed her to conjure something from nothing argued with Tiffany over her use of a copy. Currently a double of Lisa was standing next to Tiffany, in an overly revealing maid outfit, serving her tea.
Tiffany had always delighted in getting under peoples skin, with her copy powers now she really could. Her copy's were faithful reproductions of the original in appearance, and held half of the originals supernatural abilities. Copy Lisa would never be able to make anything as well as the original, but that didn't matter. She could make the copy wear whatever she wanted. Make her perform any act she desired, and the items created for mundane purpose, such as clothing and food were more than good enough.
While the other students practiced their abilities Lisa kept harassing Tiffany throughout the class until Tiffany threatened to make the clone strip and serve her naked everywhere she went. Lisa's response to that was to conjure forth a sword and stab Tiffany in the gut before she could react.
"Listen here you vapid waste of a human being, try to use a copy of me again, try to embarrass me with your powers, do anything that offends me, and you wont survive the next one of these little discussions"
The weapon Lisa had conjured clattered to the ground as the healers rushed to begin treatment. Lisa walked out of the training hall as her schoolmates stood stunned at what had just happened.
