Chapter 4

*Knock, Knock!*

"My Lord, The preparations are complete. The Temple of Bliss and Divine Baek Family’s scouts and warriors have arrived and are waiting for your grace blessing."

Vice-commander informs me.

"Commander, I was already ready……..Alas Time flew so fast, it feels like not even an hour has passed and night is already there to welcome us."

I informed the vice-commander and slaps the door open.

“Milord They are waiting in the field. Please follow me.”

“Yeahhhh,” I said, closing the door gently and slowly, just enough to let him peek into my room where I was engrossed in formations, subtly trying to let him know that I was disturbed by him a bit. It fits the image.

They are loyal so they may not see through my change much but It is still essential to maintain some characteristic traits in front of them as a caution.

After subtly conditioning him, I head toward the large field of the palace where the warriors of the Temple of Bliss and the divine Baek family are stationed, waiting to head out to kill bandits.

"Elder Maya and Vice Head Byun Baek, You sure have stationed quite a lot of warriors, didn't you? I'm quite thankful for you for taking the request of the kid so seriously."

"What are you talking about, milord? You're the father of the nation, and all the people in the Jianghu are your subjects and children. How can your request be taken lightly?"

Elder Maya seems really useful now. I suddenly can't help but look at Elder Maya in a new light. However, I, Ji Yan, for a moment, forget that a king, no matter what his age, is considered the father of the nation. What a disappointment.

"My Lord, it would be quite good for a warrior heading out to serve justice if you'd give a speech." Byun Baek intrudes and I lose all my happiness.

This is how happiness is when you’re trapped in a cycle of suffering and sorrow. Little things can make us happy and then even a little incident can make us unhappy.

Well it’s not a little incident. I'm a mere 90-year-old juvenile who never had any experience of giving any speech. In Fact The only experience I have is theoretical.

In this body too, I was forced to learn all sorts of things.

But knowledge and experience are two different things. All the experience I have is that I used to pass time by trapping myself in a room and learning formation arts and Byun Baek still wishes to make me give a speech.

I wonder if this is his way of trying to embarrass me in front of everyone and make a big incident. Nonetheless, it is still quite troubling for me to come up with a speech, but I proceed to the stage to give it.

"Everyone, the Lord of the Jianghu, the Divine, the fortune-chosen one is making his entrance."

Every warrior becomes silent and comes into formation. They all kneel to greet me.

Even in my police days, every civilian and senior official had to treat me with respect and awe, but this still feels quite different for me.

I wonder if I'm a narcissist. I can't help but fall in love with people directing their attention toward me and admiring me but as a person who is capable of understanding people's feelings and doesn't unreasonably overestimate my importance I surely can't be it.

"You all can raise your heads, I'm the Lord of the Jianghu, Ji Yan, and am highly grateful for your presence today in helping the nation to drive out evil and deliver Justice. The people of Jianghu would eternally remember that today you all have decided to be shields of people and swords to strike down the evil. If we wish the people of Jianghu to live freely, Then we must be ready to kill. If we wish to conduct the business and not pay taxes to some lowly unorthodox criminals., Then we must be ready to kill. These Bandits are parasites that hold back the prosperity of our nation…………………………………………………………………….Remember, Warriors who have come today to help out in our just act, If the sword hits the hearts, you will die. If you eat poison, you will die. Just like this, if we let bandits live, we will die. Here 'we' doesn't only denote us but your family, our family who are always at potential risk due to them. These bandits are only interested in themselves, and nobody else. They somehow contrive to have the officials in their pocket and conspire to torture and suck the lives out of other citizens in order that they live in comfort, so It'd be my humble request to not let your heart waver and kill everyone present there. Do not leave a single soul who could harm Jianghu. All for Jianghu."

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

‘I really hope this will excite these soldiers.’

I prayed to myself but soon enough started to think, ‘Why is everyone silent and just staring at me? The Green Forest Bandit alliance is utterly evil. I don't believe my speech is over exaggerated.’ Because a profound silence descends upon the gathering when my probably tremendous speech should resonate and echo throughout the ranks of all warriors.

But then, as if a storm had erupted from within, a collective surge of determination coursed through the troops. They yelled in unison, their fists clenched, their hearts aflame, and their voices unified; their howls and screams of conviction tore through the air and ground beneath them started trembling with the force of their resolve.

"All for the prosperity of Jianghu"

"All for Glory of Kingdom"

"All for the prosperity of Jianghu"

"All for Glory of Kingdom"

It is as if I had ignited the depths of their souls, was the focus of all eyes. It was like Benevolence and Justice were given form in the body of the 90-year-old.Well in this world it is perhaps a 9-11 year old body.

"All for the prosperity of Jianghu"

"All for Glory of Empire"

This world is truly fucked up.

I knew that I could gain power just by the Intense emotions of people directed toward me and soon even with killing but experiencing it firsthand is another thing in itself.

Perhaps I need to revise my goals.

I can no longer be content by remaining as Lord of Jianghu only. Ruling the entire 2 continents in the world would be tiring as I'd need to care about people constantly and be busy taking care of the nation's interest but It's a different case when it comes to seas and oceans.

I'll take control of all trade routes. I'll be the sole authority who controls the Tax and Rules in Water. I'll personally wipe out all the pirates once I gain the level by getting Bandits operating in Jianghu killed.

No, I'll rule the entire world and if possible the entire cosmos. I can just appoint others to work for me. The prime minister in my previous life was uneducated and useless but he still rose to the top with his sheer unyielding will and hard work.

My Goal will be limitless.

"Lord, it was an amazing speech. It felt like Ancient warriors have descended upon" Commander remarked.

Ji Yan nodded, his eyes filled with determination.

People thought this was the beginning of the journey to reshape Jianghu and, perhaps, the world itself.

Ji Yan's speech was truly commendable.

Everyone was filled with hope and with this, they were ready to give people in Jianghu a safer environment while giving Ji Yan experience points.

It wasn’t a surprise to see them feel this way. It is because when a speech is spoken with emotion and empathy it instantly connects with people. And works even more when the people who you are giving a speech to like you or at least don't hate you.

Well Ji Yan is cold fucker so anyone who knows his true nature could do nothing but speculate that it was Mediation. And all his mediation practice did play off as evident by his speech.

“I wish you all absolute victory over them.”

Ji Yan approached Elder Maya and Vice-Head Byun Baek and wished them for successful victory whereas the Byun Baek was completely shocked by Ji Yan's speech but interestingly filled with determination to wipe out the bandit.

‘What a fool! He completely forgot that he belongs to the Han kingdom not to the Yan kingdom.’

Ji Yan Thought and he wasn’t much wrong because he even failed to notice that Elder Maya had stationed half her warriors behind the Byun Baek warriors and others as a reserved force.

“Elder Maya?”

Ji Yan spoke but hearing no response from Elder Maya, who was engrossed in her thoughts.

He moved closer and, seeing her expression up close, regretted using his charm on her. But Ji Yan also felt quite lucky that he was the king or what could have been done to him by this crazy demonic sect bitch.

Ji Yan sent his best wishes to Byun Baek and Elder Maya and after their leave turned and walked back to his chamber.
