Chapter 3

Long chapter :D

Since I was told about going to the Richards institute I have been playing Dragon's Tale around 10 hours a day in the real world which equates to 40 hours every in game session.

It has been 3 days since I have started training like this. Since I stopped getting strength updates I asked Ryan for some wrist weights. They each weighed 5kg and started to give him stats in strength again. Every time he stooped getting stats in a certain aspect. Like strength he would add weight or for dexterity he would try to land all the punches on the same spot. On the first day I gained unarmed combat mastery

Skill Name:Skill Rank:Skill Level:Skill Experience:unarmed combat masteryEamateur 10%10% extra damage when using fists - 5% extra speed when using fists

After 3 days I had got unarmed combat mastery to amateur 3 : 37%. I also have used over half of my bread and have had to refill my bottle with water a couple of times. I also got my weights increased to 2 10kg weights on each wrist, so 20kg on each arm. After around 120 hours of in-game time punching a wall, most of the bricks are now cracked and is very close to falling down. I got a lot of stats in strength, vitality, dexterity and agility.

I continued for 2 more days when the stat gains started to slow down and stop no matter what I did. But all of this happened after I got a notification saying I finished basic training and gained 100 fame. Also as I was doing my spartan training I gained a new skill called: survival

I went back to Ryan's shop and told him I finished, and when he asked to see my stats I complied and showed him. He was surprised, probably because I had gone over 30 by quite a lot. I was now an official apprentice of Ryan and he started to explain black smithing to me.

"There are 6 steps in forging a sword"

"The first is Forging which is when the chosen metal is heated in a forge then hammered into shape, doing a little bit (around 6 inches) each time. It is repeated until you have the shape of the blade. It is known as drawing out" I nodded

"Next is Annealing, this is the process of heating the whole sword up to a high temperature. Then it is cooled very slowly ( around 24 hours). It makes the sword become soft."

" Then is Grinding, this includes sharpening the soft blade to a point. But it is still too soft to become a sword that can be used"

"Because the blade is soft we then Harden the blade by heating it to a very high temperature then cooling it very quickly (by putting it in water) this is know as quenching."

"Penultimately is Tempering, this is when the blade is heated to a low temperature and then quenched. This is done several times until it is hard but not brittle and still a little flexible"

"Finally, is completion which is when you add the other parts of the sword like a pommel, hilt and guard."

I nodded and processed the information. Ryan handed me a hammer, I knew what he wanted me to do but when I held the hammer it made my whole body feel weird. I think I understood why so I asked him for a pair of gauntlets with high durability. He was very confused but did it anyway and walked away. He came back several  minutes later and handed me boxing gloves made out of metal, they felt very good on my hands.

I then walked over to grab some metal  and put it in the forge, after a couple of minutes it turned orange. I put it on the anvil and started to punch the metal with the gauntlets on my hand. I was surprised and so was Ryan, apparently it worked very well so I carried on.

"Wha-what-what are you DOING!!!"Ryan shouted

I looked at him shrugged my shoulders and said "Forging"

Ryan's mouth hung open and he just stood there watching me. I started to punch again and was pleasantly surprised when the blade started to take shape. A window popped up in front of my eyes and I read it.

"Oh My God" I say as my mouth is now like Ryan's earlier face. With my jaw dropped like its being weighed down by weights.
