Abigail, who was also standing inside an alleyway, constantly glanced towards the entrance of the small space as if waiting for someone. Her body and face was completely hidden by dark shadows. The black dress she wore only helped to hide her further.
After a bit more time had passed, a figure had finally appeared. His gray eyes met with hers and she sighed.
“So, Keeper, did you do what I asked?” She shifted her position slightly to better face the tall man.
Keeper removed a completely transparent mask from his face, removing the magical effects that protected his identity.
“Yes, I did,” he replied.
“To what extent did Agnes and Edith notice you?”
“Well…” He began, his eyes moving towards the stone ground. “Edith was completely unaware of my existence, or at least she feigned not noticing me. Agnes on the other hand, she noticed from the very beginning. Not just that, but she was able to sneak up on me while I was surveying Edith.”
Abigail remained silent for a few seconds, not knowing what to say. She didn’t expect that Agnes would have such great detection skills.
She’s clearly hiding a lot from us, there’s no telling how strong she actually is, Abigail thought to herself.
“I’ll give you your payment later on.” Abigail, still lost in thought, waved her hand to dismiss Keeper.
Without another word, he left. After he did, Abigail remained in the alleyway, contemplating what she was going to do next.
Agnes decided that she was going to return to the hotel room. Since she had more or less dealt with the stalker, and she had no desire to expand her power, there was no sense in staying out.
Once she returned to the room, she laid down in the bed to try and relax and rest her aching joints. Just as she had closed her eyes and was about to drift off, she suddenly jolted awake. Sitting up, her eyes darted across the room.
She chuckled to herself slightly. “Of course, why would that thing do anything if it wasn’t being watched by its master.”
The goblin, that she was supposed to keep an eye on, had vanished.
Sighing, she got up and began to search the room a bit more thoroughly. She checked under the bed, in the bathroom, behind the curtains, and any other place she could think of. But of course, the goblin was nowhere to be found.

Annoyed, she left the room once again to search for the little vermin.
Edith, who was feeling quite satisfied with the amount of power she absorbed, left the poor vagrant in the alleyway. The dreamlike state she left him in would wear off soon and he would once again be thrust back into reality.
Strolling down the side of the road, night had finally fallen upon the town. Apart from the streetlights, the moon and the stars were the only other thing that lit up the streets.
Most people had returned to their homes and many of the shops and buildings of the town closed for the night.
Feeling a sense of serenity, Edith thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and calm of the night. As she walked, her eyes caught a small shop on her right. Oddly, it still had its lights on and didn’t seem like it was going to close anytime soon.
Curious, she entered. The shop was indeed small and filled with many shelves that had antiques that sat upon them. To the side was the shopkeeper, who was meticulously dusting the many antiques one by one.
Noticing Edith, she smiled as approached her. The shopkeeper was a rather short and older lady. Her hair was a dark brown with bits of white hair around her forehead and ears. She wore a long black robe that covered her whole body.
“Welcome,” she greeted kindly, her eyes seeming rather unfocused.
Edith matched her energy with a wide grin as she began to wander around the shop and glance at the many antiques that lined the shelves.
The shopkeeper’s demeanor changed drastically when she saw that Edith was no longer focused on her. Her smile dropped and her eyes grew cold and piercing.
After searching throughout the hotel and finding nothing, she decided to start looking around on the streets. If the goblin had gone too far, then it would become much more of a nuisance later on.
Looking around, her eyes easily adjusted to the nighttime and she could see much better than the average person. Thankfully, it wasn’t long until her eyes caught the small creature skittering about.
She watched as it ran straight into a secluded graveyard. Rubbing her face, she followed after it. She had to catch it before it was sighted by anybody. If the existence of goblins became widely spread, it would make their extermination become more difficult.
Inside the graveyard, she saw the many tombstones scattered around. On them had the engraved names of those deceased, date of birth and death, along with a few words to send them off.
Surveying the tombstones, she was able to locate the goblin who was scurrying about around the tombstones.
Why come here of all places? Was it lured here by something… or possibly someone? Agnes thought to herself as she went after the goblin.
Just as she was about to catch up to the creature, she saw a young man tending to the graves.
I should incapacitate him and wipe his memory, just in case, she decided silently.
Approaching the man, she called out to him to get his attention.
“Excuse me, I was just looking for the grave of my-“ Just as she was about to form the excuse, she saw the man turn and look at her.
His gray eyes were the first thing he noticed. She soon recognized him as the man who was watching her!
While she wasn’t able to remember his face on that building, she was able to remember his strangely gray eyes which she committed to memory.
