Chapter 3: Red and Earth

Chapter 3: Red and Earth

The closest sibling began to stir, the energy surrounding them intensified, causing cracks to form in the accumulated residual energy that covered their body like dust. A dazzling red light accompanied by a red mist filled the air, carrying a rustic scent. The presence that emerged from the cracks in the energy demanded violence, battle, and war.

The third-born, known as Red, revealed themselves in a form reminiscent of a colossal wolf. Their fur was a striking blood red, surrounded by an ominous red mist. The glinting white ivory fangs protruded from their menacing jaw, while their red eyes shone with a malevolent light, akin to that of a beast in a relentless hunt. Patches of black armor adorned their body, covering their powerful paws and extending along their spine and upper body.

In the next moment, Red's intense gaze turned towards the direction where the light emanated. To their surprise, they witnessed the presence of a massive golden serpent with scales that shimmered like shifting sands. However, their attention was quickly diverted as another being made itself known. Despite the being's distance and the Sun serpent's presence, which almost obscured them, Red possessed a remarkable ability to sense and see this stranger clearly.

The stranger took the form of a Dragon, covered in scales that appeared as if they were made from flames of pure white. A few moments passed, but no one uttered a word or made any movement, except for the rhythmic stirring of the still slumbering similar beings. Red observed the stranger intently, scrutinizing them silently while preparing themselves for what was to come. They instinctively knew, that this Dragon was strong.

In a flash, Red vanished from sight, their form blurring into the shimmering mist. With astonishing speed, they reappeared behind the Fire-wreathed dragon, launching themselves towards their target. A testament to the dragon's reflexes, they managed to evade the initial attack, gracefully evading Red's onslaught.

Undeterred, Red continued their relentless assault, their movements becoming a blur of slashing strikes. They seemed to disappear and reappear seamlessly, striking with precision and ferocity. It appeared that Red had already become accustomed to their own immense power, or perhaps they were tapping into their abilities instinctively, guided by their primal nature. The Fire-wreathed dragon, realizing that evasion alone would not be enough, decided to fight back.

As the Fire-wreathed dragon unleashed their devastating power, a stream of prismatic white flame erupted from their open maw. This flame contained not just ordinary fire, but the very essence and concept of fire itself. It ignited the atmosphere with an intensity that defied comprehension, warping the fabric of the world and obliterating everything unfortunate enough to be caught in its path.

But Red, being the embodiment of the Hunt, possessed a swiftness that exceeded the limitations of the physical realm. In an instant, Red disappeared from view, their form vanishing beyond the fabric of reality itself. In the next moment, they reappeared at a safe distance from Fire, singed and scorched from the encounter, but unharmed in their determination.

Rather than cowering or showing fear, Red snarled in defiance, a wicked smile spreading across their face revealing rows of enormous ivory sharp fangs. The exhilaration of the battle seemed to invigorate them, stoking the flames of their primal instincts. Red's seemingly unquenchable thirst for the hunt burned brightly within them, driving them forward with an unwavering resolve.

Fire, although exasperated by Red's relentless thirst for battle, couldn't help but smile. They resigned themselves to indulging their sibling's desire and prepared to engage in close combat. Red vanished from sight once again, their form blurring and disappearing into the mist. Meanwhile, Fire ignited the First Flame within their powerful claw, readying themselves for the forthcoming clash.

Observing the conflict from a distance, Sun watched with keen interest, taking in the spectacle created by their fiery and elusive siblings. While Sun had no involvement in the ongoing battle, they held the power to intervene if one of their siblings faced mortal danger. They understood that their strength did not lie in overwhelming destruction like Fire nor did they possess the agility and adaptability of Red. However, they harbored a power that could rival them both.

As Fire and Red's battle raged on, reshaping the landscape in its wake, a stirring presence caught Sun's attention. It was another one of their siblings, awakening from slumber.

The stirring presence immediately caught Sun's attention, drawing their gaze to yet another sibling awakening from their slumber. As the cover cracked and gracefully cascaded down their formidable form, their majestic figure was revealed. They stood as a titan of colossal size, surpassing all the other siblings in sheer magnitude. Each and every inch of their skin resembled an amalgamation of massive boulders seamlessly fused together, evoking an impression of unwavering strength and impenetrable fortitude. With imposing hills and mountains protruding from various parts of their back, elbows, and shoulders, they exuded an undeniable presence that spoke of their indomitable power.

But it was their eyes that truly captivated Sun. Emitting a brilliant, luminous brown light, it felt as if the very essence of the land itself resided within their gaze. A gentle rumble resonated through the earth beneath them, a testament to the profound impact of their presence. Just like Fire, Sun projected their thoughts into the mind of this newly awakened sibling, seeking a connection.

While Fire's mind evoked the sensation of a raging inferno, symbolizing an absolute dominion over all. However, Earth's mind felt different - resembling the very essence of unyielding land beneath one's feet, imbued with unwavering strength and immovability that commanded respect.

Earth sensed someone intruding upon its mind, but allowed it to continue. Instead, it questioned the intruder, whose presence felt as comforting as warm sunshine. "Who are you?" Earth's voice resonated like a mighty earthquake, yet devoid of anger. The intruder responded nonchalantly, their curiosity piqued by Earth's inquiry. "I am Sun, your sibling. And those two engaging in conflict are also your siblings, just as those who still slumber." Earth rumbled thoughtfully, feeling an inexplicable connection. "Siblings? Is that why I sense a bond with you?" Sun's words radiated with warmth, like beams of gentle sunlight. "Indeed," Sun replied. Earth, now more composed, assertively asked, "Will you not put an end to our siblings' quarrel?" Earth had reached Sun's resting place, directing its gaze toward the fiery clash between Fire and Red.

Sun kept their gaze fixed on the escalating conflict between Fire and Red, contemplating the situation. After a moment of consideration, they spoke with a measured tone, "It is not for us to directly intervene, dear Earth." Earth's frustration leaked into their voice, a hint of exasperation present. "But if we do not intervene, their battle may lead to irreversible damage." Sun, ever serene and nonchalant, replied, "Do not fret, dear sibling. Their quarrel is nothing more than harmless banter." However, as if on cue, Fire exerted their power over space, compressing it in front of Red and then releasing it, unleashing a spatial shockwave hurtling towards Red. Fueling their retaliatory instincts, Red's jaws parted wide, a primal howl reverberating through the air. From that haunting cry, a crimson mist ascended, taking the form of countless deadly weapons, hurtling towards Fire with vengeance in their wake.

As the vibrant blue hue of the spatial shockwave collided with the fiery red onslaught of weapons, a momentary hush enveloped the battlefield, only to be shattered by a deafening screech that reverberated through the atmosphere. The spatial shockwave shattered numerous crimson weapons, while, in turn, the relentless assault of red blades tore through the very fabric of the shockwave, effectively neutralizing its force. With a steadfast determination gleaming in their eyes, Fire and Red confronted each other once more, bracing themselves for another bout. Meanwhile, in a distant corner, Sun remained silent, avoiding the reproachful gaze cast upon them by Earth. After what felt like an eternity of being scrutinized by their newly awakened sibling, Sun eventually relented, exhaling a sigh of resignation. "Fine," they confessed, acknowledging their earlier misjudgment. "I was mistaken to deem their conflict harmless. However, it is worth noting that their intentions do not revolve around taking each other's lives."

Sun shifted their focus back to the ongoing clash between Fire and Red, their eyes steady and contemplative. After a brief pause, Earth's rumbling voice broke the silence once more. "Very well," they conceded. "I understand your perspective, but my concern lingers." Sun, their voice humming with reassurance, replied, "Do not fret, dear sibling. Allow them to release their pent-up stress through this battle." Earth, still inquisitive, questioned further, "I can comprehend Red's natural inclination towards conflict, but what about Fire? They don't seem to possess the same fiery temperament." Sun glanced sideways at Earth before returning their gaze to the unfolding battle. "Fire was the first to awaken, patiently awaiting my emergence for a prolonged period of time," Sun explained. "In a sense, they see us as their long-lost siblings. Perhaps this is their way of bonding and enjoying some camaraderie with their newfound family." Sun's words carried an undertone of melancholy, although Earth may have misinterpreted it amidst the chaos of the battlefield.
