Chapter 10: “The Apology She Never Expected”

Chapter 10: “The Apology She Never Expected”

Shuun stared at her message.

[Minra: …but maybe he could be a little nicer sometimes.]

He wasn’t supposed to answer.

Wasn’t supposed to engage this much.

But before he could stop himself—

[Shuun: I guess.]

The second he hit send, he frowned.

That sounded… like he actually cared.

And now?

Now, he was thinking about it too much.

He set his phone down, running a hand through his hair.

Why was he even bothering with this?

Why was he still thinking about her sullen expression at the meeting?

Why did he feel like he owed her something?

And before he even realized what he was doing—

He was already searching through old gift packages.

Looking for her name.

And more importantly—her location.

.

“How do you comfort a girl who’s upset?”

Suan, who had been sipping coffee at her desk, choked.

She turned slowly, eyebrow raised.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

“Excuse me?”

Shuun looked entirely unbothered.

“I said—“

“No, no, I heard you.” Suan cut in, setting her mug down. “I just never expected you to say those words in my lifetime.”

Shuun didn’t react.

“Answer the question.”

Suan smirked.

“Why? Did you finally make a woman cry?”

Shuun exhaled, already regretting this.

“Never mind.”

“Wait, wait—!” Suan laughed, leaning forward. “Fine. Girls like food. Get her desserts. Or something sweet.”

Shuun narrowed his eyes.

“That’s it?”

“That’s it.”

Suan leaned back, grinning.

“Unless, of course, you want to write her a heartfelt apology letter?”

Shuun did not say anything for that.

Instead, he picked up his phone.

And placed an order.

.

Minra had been moping in bed.

Half-pouting, half-cursing her boss, half-replaying Shuun’s messages like an idiot.

Until—her doorbell rang.

She blinked.

What?

She wasn’t expecting anyone.

Dragging herself up, she opened the door—only to find a delivery man holding a large bag of food.

“Delivery for Seo Minra.”

Minra stared.

“I… didn’t order anything.”

The delivery man shrugged.

“I was told it was pre-paid.”

Minra frowned, confused.

Then, almost hesitantly—she reached for the receipt.

Looked at the sender’s name.

And froze.

“Shuun.”

Her mind went wild.

What.

WHAT?!

She whipped back to the delivery man.

“A-Are you sure this isn’t a mistake?”

He shook his head.

“No mistake. The recipient is definitely you.”

Minra almost collapsed.

She grabbed her phone so fast she nearly dropped it.

Opened her messages.

And typed with shaking hands.

[Minra: Shuun. Did you… send me food?]

She waited.

One second.

Two seconds.

Then—her screen lit up.

[Shuun: Eat it before it gets cold.]

Minra inhaled in a breath.

She sat on her bed, staring at her phone, completely dazed.

But that wasn’t even the worst part.

Because he texted again.

[Shuun: Consider it a thank-you gift.]

[Shuun: For all the gifts you’ve sent me so far.]

Minra felt her heart explode.

.

She set her phone down.

Took a deep breath.

Tried to process.

So…

So he did remember.

He knew about her gifts.

He had seen them.

And now, he had sent her something back?

Minra covered her face, groaning.

She had been a fan of him for YEARS.

And now, out of nowhere, he was responding, sending gifts back, making her feel…

She didn’t even know what she was feeling anymore.

Her phone buzzed again.

[Shuun: Cheer up, Minra.]

Minra choked.

That was the first that he referred to her name.

And now, for the first time—

It really felt like he knew her.

.

Shuun set his phone down.

He had definitely crossed a line.

This was no longer just a casual daily message.

This was him actively trying to make her feel better.

This was him giving her something personal.

Something real.

Something he had never done for a fan before.

Shuun exhaled, rubbing his temples.

This was getting dangerous.

And worse?

Will he be able to stop?

.
