Chapter 06: “An Unexpected Reply and The Teasing That Followed”

Chapter 06: “An Unexpected Reply and The Teasing That Followed”

Minra never expected a response.

She had been writing letters to Shuun for years.

Not fan letters filled with expectations—just words of gratitude.

She didn’t need him to reply. Didn’t even know if he read them.

But still, she sent them.

Because somehow, writing to him felt like writing to someone who understood.

So when she saw the notification the next morning—

Her entire body froze.

[Reply from: Shuun]

What—

Minra’s hands shook as she clicked it open.

.

“I don’t usually reply to these,” the message began.

Minra’s breath hitched.

“But I read them.”

She swallowed.

“And I just wanted you to know—your words reach someone too.”

That was it.

No name. No unnecessary details.

But Minra sat there, staring at her screen, heart pounding.

He had read them. All this time.

And now? He was answering.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

She exhaled, closing her eyes.

“I just hope you know that your music reaches someone who truly cherishes it.”

And he had replied.

“Your words reach someone too.”

Minra pressed a hand over her chest, feeling her heart quickly beating.

It was just a simple response.

But somehow, it felt like the most personal thing in the world.

And she had no idea—on the other side of the city, Shuun was staring at his own phone.

Wondering why he had responded at all.

.

“Oh?”

Minra jumped, nearly dropping her phone.

Reyne grinned over her shoulder.

“What’s got you looking so love-struck first thing in the morning?”

She snapped her phone shut.

“None of your business.”

“Suspicious.” he said, eyes narrowing. “Let me guess—boyfriend? Secret lover? Someone I need to interrogate?”

Scowls visibly formed on her facial expression.

“You need to get a life.”

“I have one, thanks.” he shot back. “But now I’m curious. Who were you texting with such a dreamy look on your face?”

“It wasn’t texting!” she snapped. “And it’s not a person!”

Reyne raised an eyebrow. “Not a person? Then what? A ghost?”

Minra froze.

She had walked right into that.

His eyes lit up.

“Wait, wait—” he smirked. "Is this a kind of fan girl and idol thingy—?"

Minra gritted her teeth.

“No.”

“Apparently, yes.”

“It’s not!”

“It totally is!”

“Reyne, I swear—!”

“Wait-wait-wait—let me guess. Who could make the all-serious Seo Minra look like she’s in love at 9 am?”

Minra bit her tongue.

She wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction.

But Reyne? Too smart for his own good.

“Oh my god.” His eyes widened. “It’s ‘Shuun,’ isn’t it?”

Minra stiffened.

That was all the confirmation he needed.

“Ohhooo, this is golden!” Reyne burst out laughing.

“Reyne—!”

“No, no, don’t try to deny it!” he giggled. “Seo Minra— the office perfectionist— is in love with a faceless singer— Wow, incredible!”

“It’s admiration!” she cut in.

“Nah, it’s definitely a crush!” he teased. “And what if he’s secretly bald? What if he’s 70?”

Minra glared.

“His voice is NOT 70!!”

Reyne grinned wider.

“Oh? So you’ve analyzed his voice? You’re so deep in this, Minra. I’m fascinated.”

“I’m going to kill you.”

“No need, babe. I’ll be too busy telling the office.”

Minra grabbed the nearest file folder and smacked him.

“TELL ANYONE AND I’LL MURDER YOU—!”

“Oww—!” he ducked just in time, laughing harder.

“I hate you!”

“No, you love Shuun!”

.

Shuun sat at his desk, scrolling through his messages.

He still had Minra’s letter open.

He still wasn’t sure why he had responded.

And then—he saw a notification.

A new message.

From Suan.

The shareholder of his corporation.

[Suan: Hahahaha.]

[Shuun: ? ]

[Suan: Seo Minra’s got a celebrity crush on you.]

Shuun froze.

Because, what?

[Shuun: …explain.]

[Suan: Your little fan at work? The one you keep giving a hard time? Reyne just found out she’s obsessed with ‘Shuun.’]

[Suan: And now she’s getting bullied for it.]

Shuun blinked.

Leaning back in his chair, he processed the information.

Seo Minra was his fan.

She had been sending him letters for years.

And now—Reyne was teasing her about it.

A slow smirk curled at his lips.

For the first time in a long time,

Shuun had a feeling this was about to get fun.
