Chapter 5
AN/
Sigh… I know, I know. Idk what to say. I was trying to be responsible and get work that I need to catch up on done before I went back to writing. Unfortunately I’m lazy and a procrastinator and I just couldn’t catch with the work I had to do in a timely matter which pushed this chapter until I could get it done. At the end I said just fuck it and wrote the chapter but by that time I had already forgotten where I was going with this chapter so… don’t know how it turned out. Those of you who suggested names, I tried to incorporate some. Shorter chapter than I wanted but I just had to finish it as it was bugging me.

Now that I’ve taken care of business in my world it’s time to meet my fellow gods and goddess. “Coco, watch the house. I’ll be back in a few hours.” Coco barked in reply and drifted away. I start to make my way towards the white spot in the corner of my realm that’s suppose to take me to the shared realm of the gods. The closer and closer I get to it the stronger I feel a force pulling me towards the light. One second I was walking in my realm and the next I felt a sharp tug in the pit of my stomach as I flew through space at an unimaginable speed. I had little time to take in my movement when suddenly it stopped. Looking at my surroundings was very disorienting. I was standing in a open field with a log cabin standing about a hundred yards away when the scene flickered to white before changing to a large modern city. Again and Again the scenery changed every 10 to 15 seconds. It became a dark forest, then a desert, then some kind of cloud structures in the sky. My surrounding changed constantly. Some I could recognize and other were just too strange or disturbing. Besides the unstable scenery their were so many people, or I assume gods, that I didn’t know where to look. The gods came in all shapes and sizes with some being animal based, some being made entirely of elements and some looking like they came straight out of the mythology stories. I saw groups of gods in deep conversations, others playing dangerous games that resulted in large amounts of space being destroyed and others were just walking with a look of purpose off to the horizon.
“Hey newbie, close your mouth, as it is, you’re going to catch flies.” Noticing my jaw had dropped I closed my mouth and turned towards my speaker. It was a goddess. Of what I wouldn't know. She was currently sitting under a tree reading through a scroll. Her golden hair ran down her back. The light armor she wore was untarnished. Glasses covered her yellow eyes and a small nose piercing was placed on the right side of her face. As she read, the ground under her changed to a small wall like fence, then a boulder in a cave then a... You get the idea. With all the changes going around she hardly seemed in convened. In fact none of the gods and goddess seemed to even notice the changes. "Sorry. This is the first time here and everything is just so different." " Newbies." She said as she shook her head in exhaustion. " If you don't mind, your kind of the first goddess I've talked to and I've kind of been a little lost since I've died. You mind if I ask you a few questions.” The goddess sighed as she closed her scroll causing it to vanish. “You’re lucky I’m a goddess of hospitality or else I might have blasted you across this realm for interrupting my research.” The goddess said with a scowl. “You don’t seem very hospitable.” I muttered. “Tsk. That’s why you’re such a newbie. Just because I have a title doesn’t mean it defines me. I’m still me despite being a goddess of hospitality. You’ll find that a lot of gods are not what their titles seem and if you want to enjoy your immortal life then the sooner you realize this the better. Take her for an example.” She pointed to a goddess who looked kind of like an elf with two small horns barely poking above her brown hair. “She’s Melka, a goddess of dairy. Unfortunately she’s lactose intolerant. See that guy over there?” She said as she pointed to a hulking figure dawned in the wickedest armor I’ve ever seen with the most dangerous looking edge weapons I’ve ever seen. Just looking at those blades felt like I was seconds away from being sliced. His eyes held a maddening light and his black hair flowed through nonexistent wind. “He’s Barus Doru, a god of war whose a pacifist. Hatios over there is a goddess of children and fun but she hates kids, Aqulona is a goddess of the sea but she gets sea sick. See that guy over there? He’s Vorm god of good will and positive karma. He has his worshipers commit regular sacrifices to gain his faith and blessings. As long as you perform your job it doesn't really matter what you do.” i had to think about that for a second. “Can I ask you a question?” “You already have but you can ask another one.” “You said your a goddess of hospitality right? Then what do you do in your world? How do you affect your world with hospitality?” “Simple really. I gain faith and power from my worshipers and use some of that power to grant protection to guest and host as well as bless people who help their fellow woman.” “ So you gain power from worshipers and use it to exert your will on your world. Does everyone interact with their world like this?” “Gods no. Their are millions of ways for us to interact with our worlds, this is just one of the more popular options.” That was probably an easier way than my core method but I don’t really like the idea of being worshiped. It feels too much like I’m scamming my people for money or in this case faith. “I don’t really feel like being worshiped will work well with me. I’ve been interacting with my world mostly by affecting the newer generation before they are born but is their any way that I can affect those that are already born?” “Of corse their are. I could rattle off a hundred ways off the top of my head but most wouldn’t be very viable for such a newbie god like your self. Things like avatars, summons, transfiguration and the like are too advance for you right now. It takes centuries for gods to have enough power to attempt those things.” “Thats disappointing.” But avatars seem like an interesting idea. “hmm, can I make something that has the ability to make the changes to my world while being connected to my will?” The goddess paused for a second. “Well… yeah it has been done before but most wouldn’t think of using this method when their are easier and… safer methods.” “Whats so dangerous about it?” “First of all you are essentially creating something with the powers of a god in the mortal realm. That alone is dangerous not only for your world but it also is something that gets the notice of the elder gods. Not only that but to make something like that follow your will you will need to place a piece of your soul in it so your able to establish a connection with it and have it follow your will. Damaging your soul can lead to mental, physical and magical instabilities if not done properly. It’s just not worth the risk.” “hmm” She gave me an annoyed look. “Your not thinking of attempting something like that are you?” I gave her my killer smile that just bounced right off her. “I’m just trying to collect some information. I don’t know what I’m going to do.” “Humph. Men. I don’t even know why I try. I tire of this. I’m going home.” She abruptly turned around and started to walk away. “Hey! Wait!” I yelled. “I’m really new at all this so maybe can I call you sometime for some advice?” She sighed before twisting her body and pointing her hand at me. Her hand started to glow before a string of symbol of flowed from her fingertips to the back of my hand. The symbols swirled around for a second before forming a tattoo of a owl landing on a pineapple. The goddess started to walk away. “ I never got your name!” She looked back at me one last time. “Dami Mina, goddess of hospitality and wisdom.” and just like that she disappeared. I still had lots more questions but for now I had somethings to think about.

“Hahaha, I’m very surprised you got our little Mina to talk to you for so long. She isn’t one for long conversations.” A male voice said behind me. I turned around and in front of me was a male figure with a giant rooster’s head stuck on his neck. It totally weirded me out. “Of course you know who I am,” he said as he stuck out his chest confidently “ but who are you.” “umm. Jacob Hart, god of balance.” “Ho ho, good to meet you. If you need anything don’t hesitate to ask. For I am a wise and generous god.” He beamed at me. I couldn’t help but think that this god was arrogantly stupid but if he was willing to answer some more of my questions who was I to judge. Before I could reply another god came and interrupted. “Stop bothering the newbie you chicken shit.” Chicken shit growled at the imposing mass of shadows that just insulted him. He was literally just made of shadows. His form twisted and bent as though he had little control over how his body moved. “Sharven, no one asked you for your opinion. Go back to the cave you crawled out of, unless you want me to kick your ass.” umm, I don’t think he even had an ass. “Big words coming from you, but we all know just how much of a chicken you really are. If you have the balls then come at me.” The tension between the two was palpable. The air began to waver as power washed over the two gods. Watching the power those two wield just showed how much of a gap was between us. “There they go again.” People whispered. “How many times are they going to do this.” “I bet ten worlds on Sharven.” “Why are Aronen and Sharven such a children.” Apparently this happened often. No need to get involved in this, not that I could do anything. I quietly slipped away determined to explore more of this realm when suddenly I heard a explosion in the direction of those two gods. All I saw was a wave of fire coming at me from their direction. I think its time to go. Since coming to this realm my connection with my own realm was as strong as ever. As if we were connected by a strong elastic band that I stretched out to reach this realm. It was the easiest thing in the world to just let go and allow this band to reel me back home. The fire storm reached me but I was already gone.
Landing in my realm I noticed that everything was the same as when I left it. Glad to know that it could be left for about an hour with out going straight to hell. Walking into my house I was greeted my Coco. “Good job taking care of the place Coco.” Who wolfed in response. Giving him a quick rub I glanced to see how long I was gone. “UGH!!!! NOT AGAIN!!!!
