Chapter two
AN/
Sooo, I’m an idiot. I finished writing chapter 3 on my phone and because I decided to be impatient lost the whole chapter. I still remember it but my motivation has seriously taken a dive.
Anyway I need some names for side characters that I will be doing POV as the story goes on. Don’t usually like POV’s but what are you going to do. I need a name for a lion man beast cub whose name I have at Duren and the other for a Fairy with an extreme affinity for fire who I’ve named Pyra. If you have any suggestions for names let me know.

Oh my god, this is taking forever! I felt like it’s been half a year already but I finally created land stretching from one side of my space to the other. During this time I was able to learn more about my new body. For one, I no longer needed sleep, food or the need to excrete bodily waste. Secondly, it seem that the more I use my magic the larger my capacity gets. Obviously it’s an extremely slow process. So slow in fact that I only just noticed the slight increase when I finished creating the ground. If before I was tired creating enough land for two people to stand on then now I get tired creating enough land for ten people to stand on.
With the land created I needed more light. My whole space was extremely dark with the only light source being the faint light coming from what the man who made me a god said was my connection to a shared realm for gods. What I needed was a sun. But the more I thought about it the more I realized, did I really need a sun. Back when I was alive I never really cared that much about the sun and the heat. This is my space so I should create it how I want it to be. Instead of a sun, lets have a gigantic moon. I start the long and tedious process of creating a moon. After that I started on the stars with different constellations. Next I covered the ground in grass. At this point I realized that my space has increased in size. Nothing amazing, just about a yard on each side. I filled the space with land and grass and started a small forest. Really it was just eight trees in a cluster, not really something you can call a forest but it was a start. Next to the forest I made a small pond that would be the start of a lake I would eventually grow.
Things were going really well. The moon was majestic as it lit up my realm. The stars were big and bright, the constellations keeping me company. The trees were full, the grass was perfect and the pond was crystal clear. But I started to think. Can I make things like houses, tv’s and cell phones with my magic? Working at it I was eventually able to find that yes, I can make modern day tech with my magic. Soon I had a one bedroom house, with a fully stocked kitchen, living room and bathroom. I could have made the house with out the bedroom, bathroom or kitchen since I no longer eat, sleep or use the restroom but it would be weird living in a house without those things. Finally I created a digital calendar and clock so that I can finally tell time in this realm.
Satisfied for now with my realm I decided to take a break and lay on the couch in front of the tv. There I came face to face with the worst realization since dying. HOW THE HELL AM I SUPOSE TO WATCH TV!!! There’s no tv station in my realm, no cable networks, no actors or studios. It took two hours before I was able to calm down. So glad I have a clock to know how long I lose my mind for. With nothing to do I start to think about the world I’m suppose to govern over. I know nothing about that world and I have no idea how to make contact with it. Maybe if I extend my senses outside of my realm I can sense it. After a week of trying the most I got was a fuzzy impression of the world. It seem too inefficient to govern my world that way. I start brainstorming different ideas but non of them are that ideal. I stare at the blank tv screen. hmm. Maybe I can use that. I extend my senses to the world I sensed and tried to form a connection with it to my tv. It was actually a lot simpler than I thought it would be. Once the connection was established I turned on the tv to channel one.
The screen showed a wide mountain range with the camera zooming in to different parts of the mountain. Soon an announcer like one you would hear on those nature documentaries started speaking. “The Seripes Mountains are the largest mountain range on the Azeral continent with it’s highest peak reaching 20,000 meters above sea level. Home to many creatures such as the yeti, giants…” This was weird. I went to channel two. The tv switched to a dark forest, zooming in a nest of giant spiders. “…beautiful sight. Milia has captured her first prey. Now she will inject it with her paralyzing venom and carry it back to the nest thus securing her place among her peers…” I change to channel three. “And we’er back with ‘Cooking with Shelly!’” The announcer said as the theme music played and ended. The screen showed a giant cooking what looked like stew in a giant black cauldron over an open fire. “Hmmm,” she said as she tasted her stew “needs more dwarfs”. She reach off camera and pulled a struggling dwarf into frame. “In you go.” She giggled as she dropped the dwarf in the boiling stew. I quickly turned off the tv. That was disturbing.
I sat and thought about what I saw. First off, it seems that my world is inhabited by all sorts of monsters and mythical creatures. That’s fine, I could handle that. Plus in all honesty it made thing more interesting. Second, I don’t think the tv is a good idea to govern my world. I need more control over what i want to see. I start thinking again about the best way to go about it and decide that scrying should be adequate for what I want to do. I practice getting it to work, first on water then in the air and find out that the mana consumption is not that bad. Still with my low capacity I’ll only be able to scry for about ten minutes at a time. I resolve myself to learn more about the world I inherited. For one year I will observe my world so that I can better understand what needs to be changed and what I can do to help.
Things have changed this past year and I’ve learned quite a lot about my world. Constantly using my scrying technique for a year has expanded my capacity to enormous levels. At least when compared to before. My realm has expanded and I now have a very small forest and my pond has been enlarged to the size of an olympic swimming pool. I’ve also started to add bushes, fruit tree, flowers and animals. Nothing carnivorous yet, just a few species like deer and fish. As for my world I learned quite a lot about it.
First off there are two main continents. The unexplored Dark continent and the continent Azeral. On Azeral half the continent is over run by a dark forest inhabited by powerful monsters. The deeper you go into the forest the stronger the monsters become. On the opposite side of the forest are four human cities, each ruled by their own king. They’re not exactly allies, but their not exactly enemies either. These cities are under constant attack from monsters so they are more concerned with survival than rivals. Technologically speaking they’re stuck in an era similar to earth’s middle ages but they also seem to have a power source that lets them wield magic and strengthen their bodies, calling themselves cultivators. Apparently they have cores that absorb the magic outside of their bodies allowing them to use it as needed. These cores can evolve and become stronger the more you train. It seem the ranking system in this world is based off of metals. The weakest cores and therefore the weakest people are with ‘coal cores’. You can then evolve and rank up in order of copper, iron, steel, silver, gold, and black gold and platinum. Each core gives off an aura that makes it easy to tell apart. Each human city seems to only have one silver core with very few if any steel core knights and mages. It’s for this reason that they are struggling to survive. I’ve also noticed that all of their magic and techniques revolve around the 5 elements of earth, water, wind, fire, and lightning. I wonder if I can get them to use light magic and darkness magic, if it’s even possible.

Separating the humans from the forest of monsters are different races of monsters and mythical beings. In front of the humans and towards the left are three tribes of beast men. From what I see they are strong but divide and quick to fight. The three tribes are the bear beast men, the rat men and the wolf men. In total their numbers don’t even reach 5,000 but they are still holding off monster attacks. Directly in front of the dark forest are villages of goblins and orcs, small bands of giants, wandering ogres, cyclopes and trolls. They’re also a lot of smaller monsters a well but those seem to be the ones in control of the middle of the continent.
To the right of the humans is a mountain range that stretches from one side of Azeral to the other side. These mountains are where the dwarfs live, relatively well if I do say so myself. They have the most numbers out of all the races and also have a gold core knight and quite a few steel core cultivators.
Above the beast men there is a forest where the elves and fairy folk live. They seem to have a hight affinity for magic and have quite a few sliver core cultivators compared to everyone else. They are the closest to the Dark forest and are regularly attacked by those monsters. In spite of that the elven and fairy folk seem to not like violence much and seem to value nature above just about everything else. The rest of the Azeral might not know it but around 60% of monsters that come out of the dark forest head to the elves first. Without them the whole continent would have been over run a long time ago. As far as the Dark continent goes, that has been conquered by the dragons.
Much of the information I gained was from a new type of magic I’d been experimenting with called Status magic which allowed me to gain further details on individuals. This is done by bringing up a status window of the individual with all their stats, titles and other information just like you see in a MMORPG.
Now that I’ve seen the world I have a few ideas on what I want to do. First off I want to unite the beast men, I also want to add new species to the planet like mermaids and fire giants. The dwarfs seem ok for now but the elves and humans will need some help. I scry to the bear men village in the air next to me and try to come up with some ideas that would help them. The problem, I decided, was that I can’t interfere too much in my world. Unfortunately I don’t know what too much is so I’ll have to to try to do the least amount possible while causing the greatest change. What the beast men really need is a leader, someone who can bring them together. How should I go about this? Maybe through their cores? The cores provide magic but it also contains their soul. Perhaps I can create a core with qualities I think are important and give it to an unborn child? hmm. I start the process of creating a core by trail and error. Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months before I finally gain some kind of understanding about cores. I started out small. Just a tiny speck of my condensed magic. I nurtured that speck, feeding it more and more magic. I became completely focused on this little core, not noticing the weeks and months I spent growing it.
As it got bigger I thought of the kind of beast man it needed to be. Putting one tribe above the others would tear them apart in the earlier formation of this soon to be mighty kingdom. We needed a new beast man. One born to lead, born to be a king. A lion, yes, a lion. That is what this child will be. I thought of all I knew of lions and poured my knowledge into the core. I imprinted the image of a lion into that core into it’s very DNA. As the core grew bigger and bigger I saw it’s potential grow stronger and stronger. It wouldn’t be very difficult to make the potential set in stone, it wouldn’t be difficult for this child to be born a gold core cultivator. It would just take more of my power. But no, that would be interfering too much in this world, I knew this as surely as I knew my name. I kept the potential but this child would have to work for it. He will have to train and survive to reach his potential. I whispered to my core constantly, wrapping my voice in my mana. “Grow strong little one” “Be courageous” “Be wise my lion, knowledge is power” “Why are your people fractured, are you not all one people”. I whispered and whispered but whether he listen is entirely up to him. I don’t believe in puppets, everyone has free will. I can try to guide him the way I want him to grow but once he is born his fate is in his own hands.
It took two years for the core to be complete and in that time my capacity has grown even further. Next time it will not take so long. I look at my core and examined it from every angle. I cast status and tried to see if their was anything else I could do. For a first attempt it was pretty good. I looked out at the villages and decided that the bear village will raise my lion. I looked for a suitable mother, one in the first trimester of pregnancy and preferable a good family. After a few weeks I decided on a soldiers family. Scrying on the mother I brought my core to the screen. I wrapped most of my magic around the core and whispered “Go, go change this world”. The core shot out of my hands and headed straight for the mother belly before merging with it. After checking to make sure everything went as planed all I could do was wait.
