The snake allowed the monkey's body to fall to the jungle floor, this weird black blob was not an opponent it could face on a full stomach. It did not understand why the blue boxes were appearing in its mind, but it put those thoughts aside and chose to focus on the problem at hand before it delved into that mystery. The Boa quickly slithered into striking range of the slime, sinking in its fangs while coiling around it.

The slime's body leaked out of the gaps in the snake's hold, which was unexpected to say the least. It had never dealt with a liquid opponent before, But the psychic imprint from that last notification allowed it to understand that although it's constriction did literally nothing, the bite did.

With the advent of the Boa's status came the advent of a skill. The slime's adversary was now uniquely equipped to deal with the creature. and it would use this new found method of damaging the slime to its fullest extent. The snake thrust its head at the slime like a rapier, quickly piercing it's surface and dealing an additional 33 damage before the slime was able to wriggle free of the boa's fangs. The snake wasted no time in repeating the process a second time, cleaving an additional 30 HP from the slime's rather generous reserves. But by the third strike the slime was ready for it and managed to completely dodge the snake's thrust.
Realizing that it needed a new game plan, It opted to reattempt the constrict and bite strategy this time focusing on restraining the slime rather than crushing it which proved to be a good move, as the slime had difficulty seeping its way out of the snake skin bundle. The boa's fangs took residence in the slime's body once again and now it was only a matter of time before the slime was completely drained leaving the snake with two meals for the price of one.
Unfortunately this would not happen.

The slime shot a jet of water right down the snake's throat. which as one may imagine hurt like hell, the boa subsequently flipped its shit, crushing the slime hard enough to make its biomass spray out of the tiny gaps in the boa's grip. The fountain slime quickly recollected itself and made its way back towards the snake.
This was bad, one more hit like that and it would most likely die. with biting off the table the snake quickly pieced together a new strategy more so focused on keeping that thing the fuck away than on combat. The snake's opponent leapt at it and was summarily whipped apart by its tail, breaking into 2 smaller pieces while the portion of its body that was directly hit rained down onto the forest floor below.

The 2 pieces of slime quickly merged into one and some of the larger slime puddles on the ground began slithering up the tree. The main body shot a beam at the snake which merely glanced off of the hard scales covering its body dealing a grand total of 0 damage thanks to another skill the boa was granted in the form of impact resistance. It realized that the best way to win this battle was to wait it out. It was confident that the slime could not damage its external body with those blasted jets of water, and that seemed to be the only method of ranged attack it possessed. The slime also seemed to be worse for ware as it was significantly smaller than it had been at the beginning of this fight. The only thing the snake had to do was prevent it from getting close enough to do whatever it could at close range.

The slime jumped at the boa for a second time, and was met with another tail whip. This time merely being thrown away, the boa's slippery opponent had seemingly grown harder during the intermission between the 2 attacks. It came back for a third time once again being knocked back by a tail strike, and then a fourth, and a fifth, and then a twentieth.
As the snake watched it wind up for a 21st rebound in this infuriating game of volleyball it was suddenly rendered blind and could not breathe. it struggled flailing its long body around incoherently suddenly deprived of its senses for seemingly no reason. Just as it seemed the situation could not get any worse the weight on its head grew tenfold.
While the main portion of the slime's body had been occupying the boa the usable portion of biomass that had fallen to the ground earlier got into position. It waited for the perfect moment to strike, just as the snake had waited for the monkeys to draw near enough. And as the boa prepared itself for the main body's next strike, it pounced, covering the snake's eyes, mouth, and nostrils, trying its best to prevent it from breathing, the main portion joined in crushing all chances the snake may have had of breaking free of the mini slime. This was the end, but the boa would not go down without a fight.
The snake bit down inside of the slime's allowing it to begin syphoning off HP immediately dealing 86 damage thanks to the target's reduced size. It seemed to the boa that this would be a battle of attrition, both parties had lost large chunks of their HP during the fight so it was only a matter of time before one of the 2 parties succumed to their injuries; however, In its futile attempt to stop the inevitable the snake had managed to forget the consequences of biting this tenacious slime.

This was the snake's final thought as its soul was claimed by an unseen force and it's body went limp falling unceremoniously to the earth below.The slime bubbled with joy as it descended from the canopy, eager to enjoy 2 of the hairy things and the "snake (boa)" as the kill notification had called it. As to why the system had specifically named this creature and not the other 2 beings it had killed it had no idea.
Without further delay it gorged itself on the 2 monkeys, even though it still had 298 HP left over from the fight, it was running dangerously low on biomass. the 2 appetizers hit the spot allowing it to regain all the mass it had expended during the fight, it had taken about 15 minutes to fully digest them, and it was now ready to taste test the "snake". It slurped it up like a 6 foot long, muscular noodle and was delighted to find that this too was not only yummy, but arguably even tastier than the hairy things.
As it allowed the snake to join the monkeys as part of its body, it began going over the info boxes that it had ignored while it enjoyed the spoils of battle.
