Screams of unearthly creatures permeated the room as Commander Sterely stood before a large screen in a dark room. Only his face could be seen as light radiants from the screen. Icons and colors were constantly changing before his eyes, yet none of it meant anything good. His face twisted into a grimace as he began to realize how powerless he was to change what would happen next. Shadows shifting strangely to and fro around him as the screen's light began to die. A cold chill ran down his spine as the screams suddenly stopped.  He could barely hear the door quietly opening behind him. 

                   "You've failed" said a multitude of voices behind him. "Soon we will be set loose upon existence"

                    "They will send another to take my place" Sterely says quietly as darkness crept around his vision as the lights from the screen began to fade. 

                    "Perhaps, but only one fortress remains in the way of our freedom" The voices say mockingly "Your replacement shall be their last chance" Hands the color of the night sky emerge from the darkness behind him to grip his shoulders. Each griping hand felt like ice even through his power armor, its heater struggling to remained operational."And you shall be the prelude of the end" Sterely breath appeared before him as the temperature in the room dropped rapidly. He didn't even have time to scream before everything faded to black.
