It's Getting Hard

It's Getting Hard

I was walking to my house with Josey and we saw Eric and another boy walking down with him. We knew we had to just pretend we didn't know each other. Then his friend picked up a pebble and threw it at us. It hit Josey in the eye so she picked it up and threw it right back at him and it hit him in the nose. Me and Eric said at the same time,"Josey!" "Derren!" I said,"Josey! You know we can get in trouble for that right?!" She said,"I wasn't the one who threw the pebble first!" I heard Eric say,"What was that for?!" He said,"Why do you care it's just some black girls." I said,"Josey let's just go.." She rolled her eyes at Derren and said,"Fine." Why was Eric friends with someone like that I thought. When Josey and my mom were busy doing something I called Eric to ask him,"Why are you friends with someone like him?" He said,"He's not my friend we have to do a project together." I said,"Oh okay. Thanks for telling me." I suddenly heard my mom coming near me I said,"Gotta go bye!" She said,"What were you doing with the phone honey?" I panicked and said,"I was trying to see if it would work." I said hoping she would believe me. She looked confused and said,"Okay..." I sighed in relief and decided I really needed to be more careful.
