Blake began drifting in and out of consciousness, as she was carried silently. Her eyes opened every here and there, and she began piecing together that they were in a forest of some kind. As she began to properly awaken, she found they had set her down, and were holding perimeter, with a few others preparing M.R.E.s and checking equipment. She did not see her Knights, and began to slightly despair that they may have died. She began to move, but found herself sluggish, and as she did move, she felt a sharp pain in her side, letting out a grunt of pain, and stifling it immediately, she froze and began looking around, as she heard a nearby voice talk quietly, “We’re safe, Captain. Talking is currently permitted, just try to keep it to a whisper.” She feels a hand grab her shoulder, and start slowly pushing her back down to laying on her back.

Glancing at the individual, she finds a Trooper had been moving quietly nearby, and had heard her immediately as she made her grunt. She quietly responds to him, “Doesn’t mean I should just be laying still. What happened after the crash?” The Trooper quietly begins to stand again, before he whispers down to her, “I can’t tell you, since I need to keep watch. Just hold on, someone will inform you soon.” He turns and begins walking away, headed back to what he was doing. Blake remained still, wanting to move, but knowing she shouldn’t. Soon, one of the Troopers tending to gear and M.R.E.s walks over, and crouches beside her, “Here, have some water.” He begins to help her sit up to drink the water. Once the water was down, she spoke, “What happened after the crash, Medic?”
He takes the flask back, before he states, “A lot, Captain. We tended to the injured, grabbed who we could, and began returning to the Magi. It's likely still a long way to go, but we’re moving slowly. This is our first stop for a while, if you feel like you can move on your own, we’ll let you. But if you feel too injured, we’ll have one of ours carry you. Staff Sergeant Lindsey and Corporal Randal are currently scouting the area for enemies or other dangers. Once they’re back, we’re moving out again.” She smiles slightly, happy at least two of her Knights are here. But she notices one is missing from that list and isn’t laying down beside the Lieutenant Colonel, causing her smile to fade. She refrains from asking about Grant, and instead states, “Get your men to have something to eat and drink. Once that’s done, we need to start moving. We’ll wait until my Knights return, but when they do, we need to move.” The Medic nods in return, and then begins heading off, leaving the Captain to her own devices.
