ch 3.Surveillance

「Rebapart Bioreagents: activate the temporary storage area of the subject's brain, briefly inhibit brain activity until it produces a new electrical phase frequency. After that, the brain will establish a long-term symbiotic relationship with the signal source. Once the human brain closes its resistance mechanism to the signal source, the source disguised as a biological electrical signal will gradually invade all functions of the brain until it completely controls the subject's body. Data level: top secret."

This signal source is clearly how "memory chips" operate! The thought made Xiu's scalp tingle.

Ante Corporation would never expose such confidential information to someone like him, an ideation wanderers. Even if he was currently playing the role of a "biological systems engineer" for Ante Corporation.

Furthermore, there was something else that puzzled him - why could he only see this description about 'Rebapart Bioreagents' in this particular location?

Xiu maneuvered his cockpit in various directions and each time this description disappeared. He tried several times but eventually had to return to that specific area.

After some contemplation, his hacker intuition told him that there might be some kind of electromagnetic field affecting his implanted memory chip inside his body at this location. He looked back at that red dot flashing through a crack in the wall and felt chills run down his spine.

Ante Twin Towers rooftop.

"Dr. Yang, 'ideation wanderers' No. 001 entered an area Z2 where strong electromagnetic fields converge from medical equipment causing their implanted memory chip unable to upload visual information. We can only retrieve what happened during that time by forcibly putting them into sleep mode and accessing their memory chip later on; do we need to execute forced hibernation command?"

An Ante employee reported their situation to their superior who went by Yang Qing - an expert at Y2 level for Ante Corporation and also last year’s selected leader among global top 100 most influential scientists in neurology.

"Oh? It's no wonder he's a genius boy. The realistic imaging system he developed for the Cloud Atlas even made me, a neurology expert, unable to distinguish between reality and fiction. In recent months, there has been a significant improvement in the memory recall phenomenon of 'ideation wanderer'. Some 'ideation wanderer' even feel that this building is the virtual world," Yang Qing joked with a hint of admiration.

"For now, let's not interrupt him. I will attend an academic conference in Erebus tomorrow. During my absence, you will be fully responsible for guiding the work on Cloud Metalas.

"When I'm back, I will personally retrieve his memories." After saying this, Yang Qing walked towards the flying vehicle as if it were just another day at work. The steel-reinforced glass panels parted like curtains to reveal a gaping hole through which one could see countless similar vehicles orderly traversing across the sky outside.

Yang Qing stepped into the aircraft and saw it rapidly ascend vertically above Twin Towers before turning around and heading straight towards Erebus. The water body above Twin Towers was like a huge umbrella enveloping Ante Twins Tower, flowing through Oubel City’s water circulation system at its peak before entering inside of Ante Twins Tower itself.

The endless desert beyond Oubel and massive water body above Twin Towers gave reality an ethereal quality that only those who had seen Oubel City could believe existed - thanks to Ante Corporation’s technological prowess being able to influence weather systems within Earth’s atmosphere allowing them to continuously condense water from both Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean sources maintaining normal operations within this desert cityscape.

......

Z2 area, medical biomedical laboratory.

Time passed by second by second. Xiu decided to complete the task assigned by Ante Company first. He vaguely felt that there were more secrets waiting for him to explore in the laboratory below. Then he drove the cockpit down and landed heavily on the ground of Z2 area.

「Go to the "Z2" biological laboratory, test the combination of type I Elyan and type II Elyan active brain tissue placed in a refrigerated cabinet under low temperature, accelerate the combination process with breeding stimulants, record tissue reactions, and upload corresponding biological parameters.」Xiu walked out of the glass compartment and lightly swiped his finger to list all these tasks.

According to 'Memory', he walked towards the third experimental room on his left.

Xiu pressed his hand against the access control on his left side. Beep-

"Bio-verification passed, visitor - 'ideation wanderer 001', bio-system engineer, mission completion - 4."

The automatic verification door slowly opened. Various vessels displayed in neat cabinets were placed inside this room while tweezers, syringes and various props scattered over one side of an iron table. On its right was a nearly two-meter-high biological refrigerator which could be seen through blue-purple glass panels where two rows of lights illuminated its interior design; at its center top was a motor-driven free arm while its controller was fixed on its left side connected via busbars and mechanical arms.

Xiu approached it closely only to find that two culture dishes inside were fusing at an extremely slow speed under liquid nitrogen cultivation; however this fusion seemed still at an early stage from Xiu's perspective.

"Bio V-Drive,' said Xiu as he looked closer into it: 'a product series under Earth's famous biotech company Bio Equipment Corporation (BEC), each device has been sold for up to $200 million."

However such old-fashioned currency like US dollars had not been used since that World War when they once served as universal currencies worldwide before being abandoned by nations.

Of course,Xiu dabble in these knowledge from High School textbooks. The memory chip in Xiu's brain does not seem to be forced to recycle this information about common sense.

He looked at the brand new equipment with even more curiosity, trying to recall the structural principles of this type of biological freezer in his mind, but he couldn't remember it no matter how hard he tried. For ordinary people, memory can effortlessly receive all knowledge in a field within a short period of time, but for him it is a stubborn restraint.

Xiu gently turned the liquid nitrogen knob under the control panel next to him to the right, and more liquid nitrogen was sprayed out from the freezer. The number displayed on the LCD screen dropped from 0℃ at first to -3℃.

The biological tissues in the refrigerated cabinet also sensed the change in environmental temperature. The expanding tissue fluid slowly gathered towards the center of the vessel, and as the thickness of the tissue increased, brain cells gradually became more active. Xiu continued to turn the knob and observed the tissue reaction of type I and II glutamate activity brain tissues at even lower temperatures.

"Under low-temperature conditions, there is insufficient activity in glutamate brain tissues. Type I brain tissue activity is significantly higher than that of type II. Type I brain tissue becomes completely inactive at -40℃; type II brain tissue becomes completely inactive at -30℃, suggesting that a fusion temperature between -3℃ to -6℃ is most suitable." With a stroke of his eyes, Xiu's implanted memory began uploading his information to Cloud Metalas System.

"Next, let's try adding breeding stimulants," Xiu continued. He opened the liquid valve on one side of the refrigerator and searched for needed breeding stimulants everywhere. Xiu stopped at a counter and opened a window to take down a cup of transparent liquid containing breeding stimulants.

He then went to get a pipette and beaker from his worktable while wearing rubber gloves. He used machinery to suck up some transparent liquid bit by bit before dropping it into a beaker.

Exactly 20mls were added when he stopped working with what was in his hand. Then he took two milliliters worth of biocatalysts from another window using a pipette which he poured into beaker so as to resist secondary reactions caused by low temperatures on stimulants' effects . He poured all contents inside beaker into liquid valve then pressed button on controller.

The servo motor started making noise while pressurizing instantly after pressing button on controller causing gasification effect on stimulant through pressure applied by liquid valve which mixed with nitrogen gas together entering bio-refrigerator where types I & II glutamate activity brains were placed . As gas entered bio-refrigerator , its interior gradually became turbid due reduced visibility making it impossible for Xiu see clearly what activities are going within placed brains via glass windows .

Xiu turned on microcomputer power supply located atop controller adjusting internal camera angle along with light source whose image was transmitted onto microcomputer screen showing images passing through glass vessels .

As time passed ,the cultured cerebral tissues reacted differently under influence from stimuli causing both types I &II glutamate activity brains clumping together like paste towards their centers .

"After adding breeding stimulants, different degrees diffusion phenomenon occurred in both types I &II glutamate activity brains resulting decrease gray matter or white matter levels; DHA and ARA levels showed significant increase prior addition."

Xiu carefully observed tensor imaging displayed on microcomputer screen while various biological data values floated back-and-forth right corner computer display,he immediately uploaded these data onto Cloud Metalas Map System(CMMS) database .

At this same moment ,in Cloud Metalas Control Room ,company staff dressed Ante work clothes received visual images seen by Xiu's eyes during execution process .On top each small partition represented an 'ideation wanderer' seeing everything happening during task execution .
