Administrator debrief: Administrator Ashley and Pillar 05 (Mirai Sobek)

Administrator Ashley lightly pinched the bridget her nose, the recent reports has been flooding in back to back, no space in between for critical deep thought analysis. She couldn't get through the first document without being constantly bombarded with new project proposals, tabloid gossip, and the think tank.

"Half of the proposed projects are nothing but half-assed get rich quick schemes by new companies. All they want is the taxpayers money not the merits."

To her left, a girl in her late teens to early 20's handed Administrator Ashley a glass bottle beverage. "Administrator Ashley, you're going to get wrinkles if you keep on stressing. You're still young."

Administrator Ashley takes the beverage, taking a moment from her data pad. "You're not the one to mince words, Mirai. I've read how you forced four Administrators to resign without a single public eye noticing. I bet my overlord wasn't pleased."

"I can care less about her and her subpar work the overlord has cooked up over the years. The previous admins were mediocre at best not to mention interfering with my own plans. I had no choice but to force them to leave."

"Or you didn't trust them with your secret?"

A sudden silence, Mirai glares at Administrator Ashley menacingly.

"I can assure you that I have no ill interest towards you. Hence why I denied the Psycho Scrambler upon our meeting, I want you to trust me and me the same."

Mirai smiled with a soft giggle. "Hmm, I usually just breach a persons psyche and read their minds but when you denied the scrambler, I had a feeling you were the confidant I've been seeking for awhile now. Unlike the others, you have nothing to hide from me."

Administrator Ashley cheered to Mirai's words, with uneasiness. "I have a question, now about Administrator Takahashi Tojo-"

Mirai scoffed loudly. "A sideline player. He wasn’t meant to an Administrator, he barely has any power on the Borad of Administrators to have a critical say. His overlord only allowed him to be Administrator until they find a more "suitable" replacement. He's replacement was permanently docked."

"Unfortunately. Professor Wingate was on the candidacy path to becoming an Administrator, long before Tojo. Her potential was nearly comparable to that of former Administrator Aisha's during the hight of the second tech boom, her own mentor."

"And that's the reason why she was killed off by her Overlord. Her teachings and knowledge all came from her mentor, her Overlord feared that she too would become a rebel and side with now Chief Science Officer Aisha. But their falling out played right into thier overlords hands."

"What do you mean?" Administrator Ashley asked.

"Professor Wingate's knowledge on superartificial intelligence was a bigger threat to their power balancing, irreplaceable, in fact, she was assigned project manager and given her own laboratory and an experienced team. Soon after the situation immediately blew up after one of Professor Wingates next-generation neural network experiment went south. She wanted to fix the problem but her mentor end up calling the shots. Professor Windgate knew all of the Ciro Academy of Science deepest secrets. She was invaluable to the community, there's only one way to stop her from falling into the wrong hands."

Administrator Ashley was perplexed at Mirai and being to serously question her own position of power amongst the other Administrators.

"Don't worry Administrator Ashley, you're position is secured at my side. No one else won't be taking your helm for a long time to come. My guarantee."

"I appreciate it. Now tell me, what you do you know about former Administrator Aisha? Not alot has been mentioned about her in any documents, achieves has been purged from the public, her dossier is heavily redacted, only my Overlord has the clearance to remove the blocks on the file."

Mirai smile fades as she rolls the windows up. "I can't tell you much about her since she was excommunicated before I became an Unranked or a pillar. Just her name itself is a controverse among the science community. Being the brilliance of artificial technologies her potential bloomed with the creation of the world's first virtual intelligence and later evolved into the creation of artificial intelligence. Her presence alone drastically shifted the balance, fears grew that one day she'll accidentally create a sentient synthetic lifeform, this spooked the others into pleading for the discontinuation of the Lunar Project and all future AI research but the governments of the world made the decision to move forward and they did in secret."

Administrator Ashley was a bit disappointed in Mirai's answer but it was adequate. "The strongest telepathic cognitohazard running blind? is that normal?"

"Administrator Ashley, I'm not omniscient. I can read minds but sometimes the mind can be a tricky environment to navigate. Anything can be a trap, getting trapped in someone else's mind is dangerous. Never mind her, former Administrator Aisha holds little relevancy in the current Overlords plan. I have something I want to share." Mirai taps her head indicating to Administrator Ashley to let her into her mind.

Administrator Ashley nodded.

"Anti-biotic sentiment is rising drastically across the nation, the D.H.S and DoD are formulating a containment plan to suppress all Biotics in preparations of a possible uprising. Administrators are rebelling against their overlords. Now the overlords are panicking to keep their power by replacing the current Borad of Administrators with hardened loyalists from ther personal teams and centralizing their foundation."

Administrator Ashley stared out the window as they crossed over the Queens Borough Bridge. "The Borad of Administrators doesn't have that kind of power to depose the overlords... [Project PICERAS]. The others are planning to use the overlords own weapons against them."

"Planning? the plan has been in motion for quite sometime now after former Administrator Aisha was kicked from the board. If one Administrator can defiy their overlord's rule, what's stopping the rest from following suit? like the rise of nationalism endangered the European monarchy." The car's interior darkens as a haptic-holo display illuminates.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Both Administrator Veronica and Administrator Terrence have completely gone off the rails, seizing their overlords assets Pillar 06 and Pillar 02 forming their own underworld organization, leaving their respective overlords poweless, and terrified. To make matters ever so dire for them, this lost of powerful weaponry didn't sit well with the Department of Defense. After central intelligence ordered a subpoena to the borad's, losing track of lethal weaponry never sits well with the public hence the biotic distrust."

"Not worse than 36 missing nuclear weapons, 1 nearly turned a small town into a crater. This will set them back. What about the other pillars?"

"Pillar 01 is currently taking part in a barbaric experiment spearheaded by Administrator Hamilton, Pillar 03 whereabouts are currently unknown since tracking 03 down is difficult for their background history is deeply connected to former Administrator Aisha overlord, all I know is the government can't touch them out of fear of retaliation from the Overlord. Pillar 04 is currently in the city taking on a escorting job for a private tech arms firm transporting tenth generation tank software from Europe. As for Pillar 07, the US Military got their hands on him when Darpa Enterprise was seized by the military after the war for espionage. In truth, the military had ears on the inside leaking information on a successful super soldier test trial. Since then, 07 became Secretary of Defense, Nicholas Jones's bargain chip."

"Super soldier, Bargaing chip. For what?"

"Secretary Nicholas Jones, an old war veteran and has a dissatisfaction with the changes in the world political order on biotics. He's not a strong believer in coexistence with that isn't human, not to mention Senator Frederick, he's been advocating for stricter laws for biotics on the Secretary's behalf but secretly. The backstage deals they've made can destroy the people's trust mostly from biotics causing greater friction. Each side of the spectrum are becoming paranoid in fears of an attack from the other."

The black sedan turns onto the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, merging into the farthest left lane.

"Why Pillar 07?"

"Pillar 07 is invaluable to the Defense of Department when it comes to military politics and they know that, they believe he may be a suitable deterrence in case of a biotic uprising. They ran thousands of simulated encounters between the top 3 and the results were―worrying both military analyst and military officials."

"What were the final numbers?"

"Before Alexandra's sudden disconnect from the surface, the chances of 07 success against the top 3 are―slim. Pillar 01: success of victory 0.03%, Pillar 02: success of victory 0.04%, Pillar 03: success of victory 0.10%. They've ran the simulation thousands of times only to receive the same results."

"What's to be expected? Everyone is aware that 01 is the strongest psychokinesis biotic to walk the earth, 02 is the rarest in terms of biotic abilities, 02 can change matter in ways that are impossible to achieve even with the current technologies we have at our disposal. As for 03, how does someone take down a person when little is known about them, now one has heard or seen 03. I just dont see it being feasible."

"Do you believe in the divine? Administrator?"

Administrator Ashley didn't know how to answer, "I don't practice any thing of faith, but my father and mother did but I dont understand."

"Across thousands of religions and mythologies, humanity has gazed upon the heavens, giving names to their divine deities. Prayers gave them reason for existence, but does who don't believe attempted to creat their own gods in the human image to challenge the power of the divine, the Tower of Babel was just a stepping stone for ancient humanity. Chief Science Officer Aisha. She theorized pillars 01, 02, and 03 are the closest to physical god hood, each of them will open a path for humanity."

"What about you and the remaining two Pillars?"

"We're not that difficult to be delt with using conventional methods, were just spares to the overlords grand plan. My physical data pales in comparison to 07's superhuman like abilities..." Mirai paused taking a deep breath as anxiety suddenly settles in, she looked to her right. Administrator Ashley looked as anxious she did.

"You're terrified," Administrator Ashley softly whispered. The sudden anxiety was indeed strong enough for Administrator Ashley to feel it.

"I know what 07 is capable of doing, from the inhuman experiments and what he had to endure. Without 07, the super soldier project would have remained nothing but a dream for militaries all over the world. They're going to deploy their latest toys first day of Borough Clash. Operation Peacekeepers."

"Borough Clash? that huge sports event?"

Mirai laughed confusing Administrator Ashley. "Borough Clash is nothing more than a legal testing ground with only one purpose and we both know what that purpose is, Administrator."

"It sounds like a political statement."

"However, that political statement has taken on a physical form."

"Has there been any leaks of this super soldier experiment?"

Mirai nodded. "This project is isolated deep in the heart of the Continental US and tight lip only hardened loyalists were hand selected for the project. You should see how they are filtering out there employees."

"Taking one out of the pages of the Cold War."

For half the car ride along the Long Island Expressway Administrator Ashley pounders heavily as she digest the information mainly on securing her grip on power. "I became an Administrator to make a change in the world not run it to ruin."

"You mean control? I know of your incident during college. The high school campus was attacked by a Category 4 biotic, 159 deceased 35 injured, including yourself. Decated your time in advocating for tighter laws but saw that control can only go so far."

"Reading my mind?"

"No need for me to do so. I read your dossier the day of your announcement unlike the past admins."

The black sedan exited the Expressway, onto a local roads. Not much further down the road the black sedan turns into the drive way. Administrator Ashley exits the car. "Your heart is in the right place Administrator Ashley but many opponents to face all at once. I believe there can be some peace between us and you non-biotics."

"Is that so? how can I trust your not just saying what I want to hear-"

Mirai softly scowls. "I'll let you decide that, if you wish to pursue our goals I've implemented my private communication network code deep in your memory and then some. Administrator Ashley, you should worry about increasing your own influence than worrying about the progressive status of the ruling party. Even through you're new to the borad, it doesn't apply that you're safe from their aggression. Their watching you closely, they want you to slip up so you can be replaced."

"Then I expect you to keep them off back while im at work."

Administrator Ashley looks at the door of her home then at Mirai. She walks back in the car saying to Mirai "I'll keep in contact. Oh, I have a favor to ask." She tossed her datadisk to Mirai.

"Since I'm your partner, you can help me figure out a pending mystery with your connections, all details on there."

Mirai glances at the datadisk giving Administrator Ashley a nod before rolling up the window.

Administrator Ashley, peers upward toward the sky as a fleet of battle cruisers in formation parked in position.

Mirai takes a hard glance at the datadisk before placing it on the arm rest. Soft melody played, Mirai wrenched in pain as the song plays. She quickly disconnected the datadisk from the terminal. She pulls a white handkerchief from her pocket plugging her left bleeding nostril.

This wasn't any normal song, her vision blurred, sound tunes in and out. A band of glowing light appears around her right ankle. "There's definitely something in that song I can't decipher. I doubt anyone I show this to won't be able to comprehend without their brain cooking itself. I'll run it through Sister, maybe she'll understand it."

Mirai's nanoband vanished as she recovered from a psychological attack. Turning on the cabin air conditioner and gulping down to bottles of water.
