"For there to be life, so too must there be death... only then can there be life after death..." a deep voice rumbled through the nothingness of existence. "Fear not little one... for I am giving you a chance at another life. No strings attached even... I just want to see the results of my meddling, nothing more..." the voice stated.

"Where... am I?" Asked a young man, one that had recently died after luck had abandoned him on the side of the road.

"You are currently in the afterlife, or more accurately, I have intercepted you at the gate to the afterlife in order to give you a chance to live once more..." the deep rumbling voice announced. "I will place your unmoored soul into a human body that has been tempered in a way no one has ever tempered before... and I will place you into a world with a system like what had been incorporated in your world. You will be able to see statuses and use an inventory like you are used to. I am curious by nature, and I will be watching even though I will not interfere even if your life is in danger. I will simply be an observer. My meddling is already on the cusp of being against the laws of causality." The deep rumbling said as a wide smile seemed to suddenly split the darkness, pointed white teeth that perfectly interlocked appeared behind that smile, with cat-like eyes suddenly floating above the disconcerting smile. "Will you take up the chance to be given another chance at life?" The voice asked as the smiling mouth moved, showing an abyss deep within.

The young man was quite shaken at what he was hearing and seeing, but managed to speak a single word response with a trembling voice, "Y-yes..."

"Very well... just as Life leads to Death, so too does Death lead to Life..." the entity stated as the young man's consciousness began to fade. "Farewell little one, live well until you die."
