As i woke up to the sun shining in through my curtains i slowly woke up itching my eyes as i had fallen asleep really late dreading this day to come, slowly getting up from my wooden bed i look around me still the old cabin i´ve been living in with my brother since our parents passed away, my room is really small with one wooden bed a nightstand next to it and barely any walking space inside , i quickly stand up & in a hurry throw myself into my clothes.
It's the day that i´ve been dreading for the past year , the day of Examination entrance towards the Great School of Robert Trident.
Every year all of those who are on their 12th year of age have the availibility of enrolling in the School of Robert Trident. Most Famous , Prestigious School in the whole Continent of Kulnin, the examination contained of testing your physical prowess , magical talent & Affinity.
The reason why i had been dreading this day is due to my constant clumsyness & weak constitution, only the ones with above average levels in atleast one of the three subjects get accepted in my mind i had already failed even though begging my brother not to pay for my examine entrace fee which was around twelve silver coins which was our entire savings that we had saved past five years.
As i walked out of my room past my brothers & into our living room which was smaller then our bedrooms which had a small table and two chairs next to it my brother is nowhere to be seen, i look around and see a small bowl of soup with small broken breadpieces lying next to it on the table & a note saying :
,,Nick i went out for firewood i probably won't be back until later in the evening after the examinations have been finished so eat up you will need every bit of energy that you can get".
Cursing my brother for using up our savings for the examination fee, we could have used that money to fix up our cabin or even saved more money to be able to buy a bigger one & i could have started to work with you cutting down tree´s & selling Firewood.
My Brother Brad is Seventeen years of age, he has supported us for the past five years with chopping down Tree´s & making them into sizeable firewood for our neighbors, only bringing in total of measly twenty coppar coins per week, it was enough to keep us afloat.
After eating my meal that my brother cooked for me i went outside, we lived at the edge of the forest near a riverbed with the nearest neighbor one mile away.
I had to get going the exam time was closing in, hurrying myself over the bridge that was three miles down the stream, as i was walking through the suburbs of Talia
" One of the Three Biggest Cities in the continent of Kulnin ,,
Streets were filled with people walking towards the Academy grounds many of them were parents taking their 12 year old son or daughter towards the school.
The Suburbs were mainly composed of shacks with a Log house inbetween , as further you got into the city you could start to see buildings made out of stone & bricks , in the middle of Talia was Small Castle , even though Talia is one of the three biggest Cities in Kulnin it was the smallest out of the three.

As i walk towards the Academy grounds i see how many actually are waiting at the gates parents going with their childrens up towards the post Beside the gateway into the Academy grounds, seeing as that some people were straight ahead turned away from that point i start to get nervous, fidgeting along in the big queue that had appeared my palms sweating.
The Queue slowly Dissipated , seems there were couple of Lines forming up by people towards the Post "Well Three to be Exact ,, as i wanted to blend in and disappear due to my nervousness i decided to take the middle queue line.
My turn was finally up thinking to myself "This is such a waste of money we could have done something better with these twelve silver coins instead of taking this test,, already in my mind i felt like i failed already still walking through doors , inside it had three booths which made sense due to the Queue up lines that were outside.
Walking towards the middle both i went inside & there was a Guard standing inside, a female one to top it off as i couldn't stop ogling her chest after what it seemed like over fifteen minutes she sighed loudly , in a deep bass voice i was called upon.
"Hey you there little Twerp are you just going to stare at my trophies all day long or are you going to take the test ?,, definitly not the first time that she had to respond like that.
Her voice made me jump up as i was trying to find words to answer her with my brain had been scrambled with her comment on my ogling.
After few minutes i answered her with a low tone of being ashamed "Yes i would like to take the test. ,,
She put her palm out as a request for admission fee, i took out my small coin purse & took out twelve silver coins and handed over to her eagerly asking "were do i go now ?,,
"Stay right there...." as she said that she picked up an Black Crystallized Orb.
What is that ? i asked, "This is our new way of determining who are acceptable into our Academy & who are not, as you put your hands on the orb it will make this small plate of metal change colors according if you passed or not, thats why the admission fee is so cheap since we dont have to do ridiculus test like the past decades on determining peoples physical prowess , magical talent & affinity,,
My mind already interested i put both of my hands on the Black Orb.
