16: The Magic Spring and the Blood Elf’s Attack

Merslin, Elena, Lisa, and Aria embarked on a long journey in search of the legendary Magic Spring. According to legend, the spring had the power to heal all wounds and amplify magical abilities. Determined to find it, they ventured deep into the treacherous forest.

"This spring could be of great help to us. We have to find it," Elena said with determination.

"Yeah, if the legends are true, this spring holds incredible power," Lisa agreed.

As they traveled through the forest, they came across an old man standing by the roadside. He smiled warmly at them.

"Travelers, what are you seeking?" the old man asked.

Merslin responded politely. "We are searching for the Magic Spring. We've followed the legend to this forest."

The old man pondered for a moment before gesturing for them to follow. "Then let me guide you. This way."

They followed the old man deep into the forest. Soon, he pointed towards a small pond. However, the spring's legendary power was nowhere to be seen.

"This is where you will find the Magic Spring. But its true power must be discovered by yourselves," the old man said mysteriously.

Merslin took the old man's words to heart and gazed into the pond. He cautiously scooped up some water in his hands. "Could this really be the Magic Spring?"

Elena stepped beside him. "The only way to find out is to experience its power firsthand."

The four of them gathered water in their flasks and took a sip, hoping to feel its effects. However, nothing changed.

"Is this really the Magic Spring? I don't feel anything," Lisa said, disappointed.

"Me neither," Aria agreed.

But Merslin refused to give up. He carefully observed the pond and the surrounding environment, searching for any magical traces. Soon, he noticed ancient markings carved into a stone near the water's edge. "This symbol… it might be the key."

Elena leaned in to inspect the markings. "These look like ancient magical runes. If we figure out the right conditions, the spring might reveal its true power."

Lisa and Aria, encouraged by Merslin and Elena's determination, resumed their search around the pond. After some time, Aria discovered a small stone partially buried at the edge of the pond. "This stone might be important."

Merslin carefully lifted the stone, and at that moment, the water in the pond began to glow. "This is it! This stone was the key all along!"

Excited, they once again collected and drank the water. This time, the effects were undeniable. Elena felt a surge of magical energy flowing through her fingertips, Lisa felt her stamina being restored, and Aria's minor wounds began healing rapidly.

"It's real! This truly is the Magic Spring!" Merslin exclaimed in excitement.

Just as they were celebrating, a figure emerged from the forest. It was a Blood Elf, his appearance ragged, his eyes filled with madness.

"That spring belongs to me! No one is taking it from me!" the Blood Elf screamed, launching an attack.

"Be careful, he's addicted to the Magic Spring's power!" Elena warned.

The Blood Elf unleashed dark magic, summoning undead creatures to attack them. Among them, a ghoul lunged at Aria, causing her to panic.

"A Blood Elf? A necromancer!" Aria gasped.

Lisa quickly stepped in, using her shield to block the ghoul while protecting Aria. "Aria, get back!" Lisa shouted.

This time, Aria didn't freeze up like before. She immediately cast a healing spell, but instead of healing her allies, she targeted the undead creatures. As the healing magic enveloped them, the ghouls began to dissolve, unable to withstand the purifying energy.

While most clerics and priests specialized in exorcism, which was highly effective against the undead, Aria had realized that life magic—healing spells—was just as devastating to creatures of death.

After studying tirelessly since their last encounter, Aria had figured out how to turn healing magic into a weapon against the undead.

The Blood Elf, shocked by what had just happened, took a step back. Merslin and Elena seized the opportunity, casting Frost Arrows and Lightning Bolts in quick succession. The Blood Elf, injured and weakened, groaned in pain.

"You think this is over?!" he snarled.

Using teleportation magic, the Blood Elf retreated before stepping into a portal and disappearing.

With the battle over, the four let out a sigh of relief and checked on one another.

"Great job, everyone. Our teamwork was flawless," Merslin said.

Lisa nodded. "Merslin, your magic made this fight a lot easier."

Elena smiled. "I feel like we're getting stronger as a team."

Aria, still catching her breath, looked at Lisa. "Thank you, Lisa."

Lisa ruffled Aria's hair and grinned. "Don't worry, Aria. We'll always have your back."

They turned to look at the Magic Spring once more, its water still glowing faintly. With renewed determination, they knew this power would be invaluable for their journey ahead.

The Blood Elf's Scheme

After obtaining the power of the Magic Spring, Merslin, Elena, Lisa, and Aria returned to Silvermoon. They gathered at an inn, organizing their belongings and discussing their next steps.

"The power of the spring is a huge advantage for us. We're much stronger now," Elena said.

"Yeah, but should we share this knowledge with others?" Lisa questioned.

Merslin thought for a moment before responding. "No, Lisa. If this power falls into the wrong hands, it could be disastrous. We need to be careful with how we use it."

Aria nodded in agreement. "We should use this power wisely—to complete our mission, not to let it spread recklessly."

"Besides, it's not like drinking the water alone grants its full effect," Lisa pointed out.

"True," Merslin admitted. "But if people think it's worthless and discard it, that could be a problem too."

"It's a tough decision," Aria sighed.

At that moment, the inn's door swung open, and a young boy ran in, holding a new public notice.

"Innkeeper! Here's the latest announcement!" the boy exclaimed, handing over the document.

The innkeeper read it over and turned to Merslin's group. "This might be of interest to you."

Merslin took the notice and read aloud:

"A Blood Elf has been spotted near the Magic Spring, using necromancy and dark magic to terrorize the area. Adventurers are requested to locate his hideout and stop his growing influence. Rewards will be provided. - Silvermoon Town Council"

Merslin clenched his fist. "Looks like we have work to do. We have to stop the Blood Elf's scheme."

Elena, Lisa, and Aria nodded firmly.

"Yeah, we can't let him cause more trouble," Elena agreed.

"It's time to put our new power to good use," Lisa added.

"Together, we can defeat him," Aria said with confidence.

As they discussed their next move, a mysterious traveler sitting nearby overheard their conversation and smirked.

"A Blood Elf, huh? Now that's an interesting tale."

Merslin turned toward the man. "You know something about them?"

The traveler smiled knowingly. "Yes. The Blood Elves were once part of the ancient Elven Kingdom. They wielded powerful magic, but that power came with a terrible curse…"

Before they could ask more, the door to the inn swung open again.

A familiar voice called out.

"Kyle!" Elena exclaimed.

Kyle grinned and walked over. "Fancy meeting you all here. Are you talking about the Blood Elves?"

Merslin nodded. "Yeah, we encountered one at the Magic Spring. But how do you know about them?"

Kyle's expression darkened as he began to explain…
