'Ughh, not as bad as the first time, but still not good.' I thought as I rubbed my temple after I appeared back in my bedroom at the exact moment I left before pulling up the mission.

- TR-560 Medical Tricorder VI + Blueprint (Star Trek)
- Observe Skill
'Okay. I don't know what the Tricorder is since I've never watched Star Trek, but anything from that universe should be very useful. The technology there is hundreds of times more advanced than in my world so a blueprint of tech from there should be enough for me to start a successful company, especially if it's something medical-related. And if the Observe skill is what I think it is, thank you Lady Luck.' I thought before waiting for the sensation I felt when I first got the Hacking skill.
'Hm? Where's the skill?'
Opening my Inventory, I could see that the two rewards were situated at the very top for easy access. Confused about why the skill was in my inventory, I took out the Observe skill from my Inventory and a hard candy appeared in my hand.
'A skill candy? That's different. I thought it would just be given to me. Wait, does this mean I can give other people skills?' I wondered.
[In the case that anyone but User ingests a Skill Candy, they will die]
'Okay, so then why the candy? Is it just for fun?' I asked to no answer.
'Okay then. Guess it is just for fun. Wonder what flavor it is.'
Unwrapping the hard candy, I could see it was an oblong blue oval with the word 'SKILL' carved into the candy. Popping the candy into my mouth, it instantly dissolved before I felt some information flow into my brain. As for the flavor, it was blue raspberry.
'Yes! The skill was the famous Observe skill found in every Isekai/RPG manga/light novel. Except mine won't show HP, MP, and things of that nature. It'll just show me information about the person or object I use it on.
And it does observe more information the more I use it, so it might be from a game world. Maybe it's from The Gamer, that one manhwa. Not that it really matters. Let me test it on myself.'
Getting up from my bed and standing in front of a mirror, I looked at myself and thought 'Observe.'
[Observe]
Name: Matt Garetty
Age: 18
A high-school student with infinite potential and too many paths.
'Can't help but be a little disappointed with the amount of information, but it'll get better as I use it more, so can't really complain too much.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
Also, I like the infinite potential part. If it's just an anecdote for me then it doesn't matter all that much, but if it'll eventually show what people's talents lie in, it'll be a gold mine. Especially if I want to run a company in the future. I'll be the main figurehead but a company can't subsist on just one person's genius alone. If you want to build an everlasting empire, talented and trustworthy people are going to be in high demand.
Anyway, that's all far in the future, for now, let me try the skill on the Tricorder next that way I can compare the information I get from The System to what Observe tells me.'
Taking the Tricorder out of my Inventory, the information about what it could do, along with the blueprint, entered my mind.
I then looked at the Tricorder in my hand, which all things considered was kind of ugly. The Tricorder was a big grey brick that flipped open to reveal the interface inside, with many buttons. On the top, it had a compartment that held a handheld scanner, and on the back, it had a removable cover for the fuel cells which were solar rechargeable.
'Holy shit, this will make almost all medical scanning devices obsolete. CTs, Echocardiograms, MRIs, PET scans, and X-Rays will all be obsolete with the Tricorder. Medical errors and misdiagnoses will be down drastically along with the amount of time it takes to complete a check-up.
This is so much more than I could've wished for. The blueprint for the scanning device alone would've been enough but add on everything else and it's any tech bro's wet dream. If this level of technology is low for The System, I can't even imagine what it considers to be the highest level. A Dyson Sphere? Or something I can't even comprehend?' I thought in awe before snapping out of my stupor and using Observe on the Tricorder.
[Observe]
Item Name: TR-560 Medical Tricorder VI
A versatile, portable sensing device equipped with sensors and analysis software tailored for medical diagnostic purposes.
'Okay, more or less what I expected. Still though, very cool. Let me scan myself.'
Flipping open the scanner, I pressed the Power button which caused the small screen to light up. Then I got the handheld scanning device from the top compartment, pressed the Scan button, and waved the scanning device from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet.
BEEP
Hearing the Tricorder go off, I read the results.
{Unknown Virus Detected}
{Blood Sample Recommended For Further Analysis}
'Wait, I brought back the virus?! I thought my body would be exactly the same as I was when I left?!' I thought, slightly panicked at the fact that I could have introduced the virus from The Walking Dead to my world.
[Only the Users age and any changes caused by aging are reverted. Any change to the Users body otherwise will remain]
'Fuck me. I'll have to be a lot more careful when I go on missions then or else I'm going to have to explain how I lost an arm out of nowhere one day. It also means I can't leave this room until I'm rid of the virus. I can't risk it spreading at all.
Hopefully, the Tricorder can tell me how to cure it with whatever I have in the house. If not, maybe the Shop will have what I need, but I'd rather save my points for something better if at all possible.'
Pressing the Sample Collection button on the Tricorder, a thin needle-like apparatus extended from the handheld scanner which I used to poke my finger and draw blood, without feeling a thing might I add. Once the blood sample was collected, I pressed the Analyze button on the Tricorder and waited a minute before hearing the machine beep.

- Class 1 Antiviral
Reading the recommended course of treatments, I realized that I might have to use points. But from the information I got about the Tricorder, it could also recommend treatment based on the information you gave it.
"I don't have any of that available. What's the most primitive treatment method?" I said to the Tricorder.
{Gathering Information}
A few moments later, the Tricorder beeped.

- Shower With Hot Water For 30 Minutes While Eating 2 Heads Of Garlic and 2 Ginger Root
"Huh?"
~
SHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSH
CRUNCH CRUNCH
Shaking my head in misery and quickly chewing and swallowing, I stood under the hot running water while trying not to throw up.
I liked garlic and ginger as much as the next guy, but eating them raw and so much of them was too much. The extremely pungent flavor of the garlic and the warm, spicy flavor of the ginger did not mesh well in my stomach, but I forced it back down.
Thankfully, there was enough of both ingredients in the house and I didn't have to go outside, risking infecting other people. It was also doubly lucky for me that my parents were out of the house.
Checking my watch, I could see that I still had 15 minutes left before I could get out, so I began to rearrange my inventory and make it nice and neat while also taking stock of what I had scavenged.
All kinds of guns, ammunition, tanks, cargo planes, jets, helicopters, cars, and trucks. Obviously, there weren't many of the vehicles since most of them had been used by those on base, but some had been left behind, for whatever reason, so I gladly took them. And now I had enough arms and ammunition to take over a small country.
And a metric fuckton of gold. Forgot to mention that.
After my short nap among the clouds which I was dumb enough to try but lucky enough to survive thanks to my PK staying active in my sleep, I decided to take a short trip to Fort Knox for some gold panning. And after using the watch's laser cutter to bypass the vault, I took all the gold that was there. Which meant only one thing.
I was rich.
Well, not exactly.
I would have to sell the gold first before I could be considered rich and that wasn't possible because someone selling 4000 tons of gold out of nowhere is suspicious. Especially if they're all stamped with the US Mint's stamp.
But a win is a win in my book so can't really complain too much.
After rearranging my Inventory, I still had 10 minutes to go so I decided to check the core programming that I extracted. But when I was about to touch my watch, something unexpected happened.
"Hello, Master. How may I help you today?" said a female voice.
"The hell was that?" I said as I looked around.
"It was me, Master." said the voice.
Turning to look at where the voice came from, I saw that there was a face on my watch.
"Hello, Master." said the face.
"Aw, shit."
