Chapter 2: Battle for the church part 1
“I guess it’s kind of a stupid question anyway, it’s obvious that the divinity it’s the best choice.”
As I moved my hand forward to click on the Desire fate the world shook, it wasn’t the kind of earthquake that just shakes the ground a little, it was as if something very big and very angry had thrown a punch at planet earth.
Suddenly jolted by the shake my hand missed its aim and landed on the human fate, my face paled but thankfully the next system prompt was to ask me if I was sure. Thank you mysterious blue box, next time I have sex I’ll scream your name.
Looking around and making sure the earth was not gonna shake again I carefully went to select [no] however I think someone was in the mood for a nice prank because the world shook again and I selected the yes.
… bold choice young man. You have selected the human fate even if you had for better choices available, for this you earned the following skill:
Human Pride: You are human and proud to be, growth potential and speed doubled.
For refusing a chance at becoming a Deity you have gained the following title:
Heathen: “What is a man to a king? What is a King to a God? What is a God to an unbeliever?” all Divine skill have their effects greatly decreased against you. All your attacks against Deities are greatly enhanced.
I wanted to grimace and lament at my own bad luck, however, the second “earthquake” had greatly damaged the church, right below the altar a giant fixture had appeared and even worse I could hear something oddly similar to a raspy voice coming closer and closer from it.
Hiding behind a pillar I waited a few seconds and finally, I saw where the voice came from, pulling itself out of the fixture by his two powerful grey arms a little-deformed man came out of the fixture, his whole body naked exception made for a quiver full of throwing spears.
After the one meter and half tall creature came out two more followed, one armed with a wooden club and another one with a chipped shortsword.

I sneakily observed the three rowdy creatures yelling and pushing each other, from what I had observed the one with a club was apparently the leader, whenever he yelled something the other two would lower their heads in what I recognized as fear or reverence.
Suddenly they split and started inspecting the church, even though I wanted to thank my luck for not sending any of them there was no need as chipped sword was actually coming towards me.
I felt sweat beads on my forehead as it walked between the chruch benches. Knowing he was gonna find me I quickly thought of a plan, in front of the pillar there was a wooden statue maybe I could push it on him as he closed in on me.
I waited for the best chance but suddenly he stopped and started sniffing the bench where I was sitting moments ago then his head snapped towards my direction, quickly hiding behind the pillar I avoided being seen, however, the little bastard had apparently caught my scent as I could hear his heavy footsteps nearing while me dragging his sword on the ground.
“think Adrian, what should I do?!” I heard him coming to a stop right in front of the statue, had he not knew I was there this would have been the perfect chance, however, he was ready for me, the moment I came out I could already see his sword coming for my neck.
“please god, you already screwed me enough for today, no?” The main door of the church opened with a loud clang and Don Giovanni, the local priest, came inside with an alarmed expression that quickly transformed in shock as he saw the grey men.
This was my chance, they were probably focusing on the new comer so I immediately stepped out of my hiding place and with a step came around the pillar, as I thought the little bastard was looking at the Don. With my next step, I crashed into the statue with all my force tilting it forward and then gravity did everything else.
The statue accelearated towards the grey monster and right when he was gonna get squshed he noticed it and releasing his sword, used both of his hands to stop the statue, I could see his forehead suddenly filled with veins as thick as snakes.
Suddenly his sharp eyes turned to me with an amount of hate and bloodlust I had never seen, unfortunately for him, I would be the last thing his eyes would see.
Taking the sword from the ground I stabbed forward in his abdomen, blue blood sprayed forth on myself but the bastard held on the statue, as I was about to stab a second time he actually swayed the statue to fall on me.
I jumped back dodging it and when it came down with a loud noise he leaped at me both hands forward like a lion.
Feeling the blood boil in my veins I slashed at him in the air leaving a deep mark going from his chin to his forehead and then he landed on me.
As little as he was that thing was incredibly heavy and I so I found myself knocked to the ground because of his momentum.
Pushing his heavy dead ass off me I got up and turned to the entrance where the priest had been impaled to the door by a throwing spear and the other little monster was intent on breaking his knees with the club.
Suddenly I realized something, where was the other monster? My survival instincts kicked in and I immediately jumped to the ground, not even a moment later a spear went through the space I was occupying.
Taking my head out like a turtle I located the bastard on the other side of the church atop the offerings table, he shook his spear with one hand screaming something in his raspy tongue, his friend understood and after a final smack on the priest’s head he turned his head against me.
Dammit, two versus one… "Should i stay and teach them human manners or flee?"
