Mist Sprinkled Rose's POV:
If we're talking about sir Mage, constant troubles seem to be coming his way no matter what he does. And anything I say won't change it, I can only try to resolve the complicated situations he creates without a second thought and help him go through them without being seen as rude by every single person he meets.
He doesn't even understand what he does wrong. That's the worst part.
-My aunt will not be discarded here and left for bugs to eat, she will have a proper burial!
~~Stop talking.~~
-But...
-No buts! - the young human girl was getting increasingly angry. The red glow appeared and disappeared from her pupils but it was slowly getting stronger.
~~Wait for now, let her cool down a little. Don't speak, even to me. I'll tell you when.~~
For the next few minutes no one said anything. I could see that the small human was lost and left alone she would soon become enraged again, no doubt. She needed something to calm her down and sir Mage could give her that, given his capabilities. So young and yet so powerful. That's the reason I decided to leave my essence with him.
~~Tell her what you're going to do. Only that, so she can understand.~~
He immediately said:
-I'll get your aunt.
Oh Gods. What is wrong with this one?
-You... You will what?!! - the red glow returned brighter than ever.
~~Quickly tell her more!~~
-I'm gonna get your aunt back for you, Q! Shouldn't you be happy? It takes a lot of effort to do this and I might be the only one able to accomplish such a feat!
-You... what exactly are you talking about?!!! Can't you see Anaga is dead?! Stop joking around! It's too cruel!
-Who's joking? I thought you would be happy to see your aunt again. Was I mistaken?
The red sort of dimmed, is it working?
-...see her again? Are you perhaps a necromancer?
-No, ah, I know necromancy but I don't consider myself as a necromancer. And that has nothing to do with what I'm gonna do! No mere necromancer can repeat what I'll do!
-Will you finally tell me what do you want to do? Because I understood nothing from your words till now.
-I'm going to 'shift' the world!
Yeah, that explains eeeverything. Sigh.
-... I still don't get it.

-How can I tell you anything when you won't understand it?!! I will shape our world into a different dimension where your aunt didn't die. Or rather change it so it seems that way.
And... finally! The red is gone! But to think it took him so much effort to make the human girl understand... That's... his specialty, I guess. In the wrong sense.
-Eh? Eeeeh?! You can make Anaga alive again?! With this 'world shift' thing?!!
-Yeah. It's not an easy thing to do even for me but it is possible. You know how there are unlimited versions of the world? How the smallest thing can change the whole world?
... Seeing the unmoving, blank face of the girl, sir Mage continued a little less enthusiastically:
-No, of course you don't. Anyways, that's how it is. If you turn left on your journey, you will affect everything on that path - humans you pass or maybe stop for a talk, animals that will be stepped on and killed, nature when you break a small branch while passing. Similarly on the right path, just that those will be different things. Those that you change will similarly influence the others and it will soon make the whole world different. And every time you 'turn' the world creates a different path, a branch on a tree, that will be completely different then when if you, for example, stayed in place or started to run. Anyways, there is a world where we were never born or where I was killed while still young. Or a path where I have a dog or become a Devil King. Another branch is where I never killed your aunt and that's where I'm going to shift our world to. In this enclosed space we couldn't have changed much anyways and making your aunt as 'never dead in the first place' won't have dire consequences.
-Is that really possible?!!!! I didn't really understand all of it but you mean that Anaga will be alive again, right?
A bright smile appeared on the little human's face. Good job, sir Mage.
-That's not what I said though?
No! How could you say that to her?! Look at that sad face!
-She will not come back to life, you understand?
You blockhead! I know what you mean and you shouldn't destroy this girl's hopes when there is no need to!
-... I... understand. If you can't do it after all... that's fine. I was expecting too much. Resurrection? That's impossible after all.
-Why? It's possible. I'm just saying that after I do the 'shift' it will be as if your protector never died. She will not suddenly stand up like a creepy zombie but she will never be dead in the first place, got that?
-I... think so? But it means she will live, right? She will stand before me with her body and mind intact, isn't that right?
-Well... yes.
Pheew. Finally, the explaining part is over. Time for action!
-But... Can't you 'shift' the world so that I'm not a Berserker as well?
Or not... Oh, but that's a clever thing to ask. Can you, sir Mage?
-Of course not.
-Eh?! But, but why not?!!
Right, why not?
-Have you heard this saying: "Once a Berserker, a Berserker for life."
-I have.
-Well, it's not entirely accurate. The thing is, Devil's Rage is, in fact, a hereditary mental illness. Many people have it and would never find out about it and some of them carry the potential to awaken it. Like you, Q. It doesn't matter if I 'shift' the 'you now' to the 'you before', since you are meant to awaken it anyways, just sometime later in the future. Better if you learn to control it now than wait for a time when you're in a city to go crazy and cause a bloodbath there. Don't you agree?
-Eh, uh, yes. I need time to really understand everything but I get what you're trying to say. Me being a Berserker would happen anyways, right?
-Yep. That's how it is. Now when everything is under control I wouldn't advise you to change anything unnecessarily. Many things could go wrong like that, I know from experience.
~~What exactly happened?~~
I got curious.
-Remember when I mentioned me being a Devil King? I met that other me and had to defeat umm, how do I call it, an evil version of myself? Yeah. Good that I was weaker than myself and I managed to win. That side of me was too lazy to read everything I did in my youth, so he didn't possess as many abilities. I quickly shifted back to the original 'branch' and all was fine. Both of us were 12 at that time.
