Mysterious Adventurer

Mysterious Adventurer

Dimas had calculated everything beforehand. The estimated status needed for his equipment, the money that must be spent, and the routine training that is needed. As long as all the information has been fulfilled, all that is needed to perfect his plan is determination and ending with real action.

In general, every adventurer needs a purpose to come to explore a dungeon such as a hunting mission or protecting someone in exchange for goods or money. But in his first dungeon exploration, Dimas did not take any mission even though he had manipulated the data by creating a fake adventurer identity because his goal was not money but to understand his strength and ability to fight the monsters in the dungeon.

When Dimas arrived around the dungeon entrance area, everyone immediately stared at him. Not only because they had never seen him before, but because his appearance was very different when compared to many adventurers.

Dimas could hear the conversation of several adventurers who clearly said something about him.

“Hey, have you seen that guy before?”

The person’s interlocutor shook his head before continuing with a comment, “Never. Maybe he’s an outsider and has some sort of interest in this dungeon. Judging from the armor he’s wearing and the weapon slung across his back, he can’t possibly be a rookie. Not only does his equipment look expensive and classy, but his bearing also seems like that of a veteran adventurer.”

“What’s a veteran adventurer doing in this beginner’s dungeon?”

“Who knows?”

His face was covered by a helmet, making it impossible for anyone to see the wide smile on Dimas’ face. It had been a year since he arrived in this world, and all he had heard from people were taunts and insults. Hearing others positively speak about him lifted this young man’s spirits.

When Dimas was about to cross the dungeon boundary line, a girl in a guild officer uniform immediately walked up to him and said, “Please stop for a moment. As a member of the guild’s security section, I would like you to show your adventurer’s ID card first. I hope you understand that this is part of the security measures to ensure that anyone who is not part of the adventurer’s guild is not allowed to enter the dungeon.”

Without hesitation, Dimas took out his identity card. Although the data on the identity card was fake, the card was made directly using guild technology so its authenticity was guaranteed.

Of course, as someone who has worked as a guild officer for a long time, the girl immediately realized the authenticity of the identity card in her hand. However, she was surprised to find out that the figure in front of her was an E-level adventurer, aka a rookie adventurer, considering his appearance and demeanor, which made the girl suspicious.

“You may pass now and sorry for the inconvenience, Mister Mystogan.”

Mystogan is the name Dimas chose for his fake identity. A name he took from his favorite anime character with a hidden secret identity.

Without looking at the girl, Dimas immediately walked into the dungeon and immediately became alert to the area around him.

According to the information he gathered, the first floor of this dungeon contained several low to mid-level monsters such as goblins, giant insects such as centipedes or beetles, and orcs.

Each monster has different characteristics and the most cunning among the monsters on the first floor is the goblin.

They like to kidnap their prey. If it is a man, then they will make them their dinner, while if the one they catch is a woman, they will become their toy until they give birth to goblin children before finally being killed as food for the newborn goblin children. They are the most hated type of monster.

Dimas noticed some shadows moving around him. Considering he was alone, Dimas could guess what monster would attack him in a moment.

A dagger shot quickly targeting a small hole in his helmet. Dimas, who had learned all the goblin fighting techniques and tricks from books and the experiences of adventurers, easily caught the dagger.

At the same time, four goblins with daggers appeared and surround him.

The goblins were seen grinning widely because they felt they had cornered their opponent with a siege from all sides. They didn’t realize the figure they were surrounding was grinning even wider behind the helmet he was wearing.

This is a sensation that I have wanted to feel for a long time. After a year of holding everything in, I can finally let out all my pent-up emotions today.

Fighting against the small and agile goblins, Dimas did not use the large sword hanging on his back. Instead, he used the dagger he got from the goblin and began to attack them brutally.

Lunging forward, Dimas seized the opportunity while the goblins were still trying to intimidate him. He thrust the dagger in his hand towards the goblin in front of him. When the goblin clutched his bleeding eye, Dimas acted quickly to finish it off and snatched the dagger that had fallen from the goblin’s grasp.

With each hand holding a dagger, Dimas continued to attack the goblins on his left and right sides quickly and precisely. Less than a minute since the goblins tried to attack him, Dimas has killed three of the four goblins that appeared before him.

The remaining goblin realized that he could not escape and chose to charge towards Dimas. However, Dimas easily parried the goblin’s attack and ended the goblin’s life with a single slash to the neck.

Ignoring the four goblin corpses around him, Dimas turned his gaze to a certain direction, the direction where the first dagger had attacked him.

Even though Dimas did not see the presence of the goblin that first attacked him, Dimas was aware that the goblin was stalking him from somewhere in the distance. But that was exactly what Dimas had hoped for. After killing the goblins, Dimas could feel that his body had experienced some change, which meant that he had experiences what was called a level-up.

I hope that when you show up, you will bring more friends with you. This way, I can satisfy the thirst I have held back for a year.

While playing with the daggers between his fingers, Dimas walked deeper into the dungeon.

Meanwhile, on the same dungeon floor but in a different area, five rookie adventurers seemed to be in a very difficult situation.

The equipment such as the armor they wore seemed to have suffered many scratches and bends, an archer in their group seemed to have run out of arrows while the mage and priest in their team looked very exhausted and were experiencing symptoms of mana deficiency.

Currently, they are hiding in a safe area that is protected by the statue of the Goddess of Protection and Light, Lichtalia Aurora.

Of the five people, only two of them were still able to move and fight the monsters, but both of them had lost their courage to leave the area.

A blonde-haired man with a shield in his hand said to the bespectacled girl next to him.

“This dungeon is not normal. People say this dungeon is for beginners, but all the monsters we faced so far are very intelligent, strong, and dangerous. Emily, you have explored other dungeons before, right? What do you think?”

Adjusting her glasses, Emily replied, “I agree with you. Normally, the eye ability I gained from my contract with Blue Eagle allows me to see everything, even in the dark. However, in this dungeon, my ability seems useless. The experience we five are having is very different from what people have been saying about this place. Are they intentionally providing false information, or has something changed in the dungeon? Whatever the case may be, we need to find a way out and report what we’ve encountered.”
