Author's corner: Have fun! I had no friggin idea how to write a slime character, considering the lack of human senses. As the comments pointed out earlier, it would be a cheat if it got mana-senses right away, and at the same time...if it got normal sight, it would lack its greatest advantage: the capacity of sensing from all angles. So I decided to go for middle term! Tremor-sense, the arts of detecting things through vibrations!
Also decided to forget the word 'sidestory'. Inas is going to be rather important for the story anyways!

Inas POV
And so, as I pressed my finger on the race, letting fate decide it for me, I bit my lip slightly, in nervousness. I slowly opened my eyes, to see which one fate had picked in store for me.
Are you sure you want to choose the 'slime' race? YesNo
I nodded, without any hesitation."Yes, yes I do." I said. I was already gambling my destiny, my character's future, so I decided to go all the way through! That is the only way a true gamer should play, not hesitating and sticking with something until the end!
But then...something happened. I felt as if my eyesight slowly became blurry, before fading away completely. I could hear the god talking, although his words only became fainter and fainter, to such extend I couldn't even hear him anymore. I could feel my lungs letting the air out, and even if I tried to, I couldn't breath. I couldn't feel any muscle in my body. At most...I could feel my skin.
Congratulations! You are now a slime!
You have learnt a new skill!ShapeshiftingRating: ★★★★☆Level 1, beginnerXP: 0.00%Cost: NoneCast time: 5 secondsCooldown: NoneType: RacialDue your race having an extremely flexible body, you have learnt how to mold your shape according to your will and knowledge!
Higher skill levels let you have more complex forms, along with faster transforming time.
I was glad that, even if I was like this, I could still see the window in the middle of the darkness. Are all slimes supposed to be like this? I shivered in fear...I feel so sorry for the kind, now that I think about it. I could then feel slight vibrations on the ground, coming from the same direction that the god, Seth, was...and afterwards felt something touching my 'skin'.
I attempted to scream and run away in surprise and fear, and yet I couldn't move a single inch. "Hello? Can you hear me?" A familiar voice appeared in my head, and I could only try my best to nod, calming down. "That's good. I don't know what the 'higher-ups' were thinking on this race...to not even give you the ability to hear. Oh well, consider this a blessing from me, Seth! From now on, you can hear, even though you were 'born' without ears!" He said, proudly before removing his hand from my skin.
And yet. I could feel the darkness slowly creeping up on me. I could feel even the air against my skin...showing how alone I was now. I immediatelly moved forward, towards the warmth that was assuring me that everything was going to be alright. Don't go Seth! You are my only hope!
"Right, right. Look, I know you want to stay here where it is safe, and I don't blame you. But for you to recover your eyesight and such, you need to adventure on your own. Don't be afraid, alright?" The voice explained to me, and then I felt as if I was teleported. I couldn't see the surroundings, but I was sure of it. I was completely sure it wasn't in the same place. The wind was weaker than before, and I could feel the grass under my body...which by some reason, I could 'taste' the few blades of grasses that managed to pierce my 'skin'.
It was a completely unknown experience to me. I was tempted to already log off, to tell my sister...but I think she'd request me to change races, if she learnt what I'm going through. As I thought of that, I could feel the blades of grass inside of my body slowly dissipating inside of me.
Uh...does that mean I can just live off grass? I never knew slimes could be peaceful herbivores like this. Oh well, more food for me! Munch munch! And so, I began my quest, to become the best grass muncher in the world. I'll be the player who ate the biggest amount of grass in the whole game!
Ah, but that isn't something to be proud of, is it? At least, the grass is tasty. Munch munch! As I munched on the grass, I could feel slight vibrations of something moving behind me...or was it on the front? What is the difference anyways?! How do I know if I'm turning my back to others, or talking to them?! And where is my clothes and armor anyways?! Either way I'm glad to find something else. And so, I moved over towards it...in a slug-like pace. I could even feel the antennae growing above my head, and my body getting thinner but longer, as I moved forward.

Uh...great. So I'm not a slug. Well, it doesn't matter right? At least I can move in this form now! Really slowly...real slowly...One day I'll reach it. Whatever it was moving, had stopped for a few seconds, before it began to move again, away from me, before coming back closer. Yes, come closer! I promise, I only want hugs!
I then felt something piercing my skin. It felt dry...and hard. "What is this thing...?" An annoying, brat-ish voice said, as if it was grossed out by my appearence. Is...is this being poking me with a damn stick?! And even considering me gross?!
Angrily, I shifted back into the slime form, and attempted to latch onto the annoying poker. Somehow, it wasn't too hard to move like that. I was still somewhat blind, so I couldn't make out the shape of the being which was poking me, but I knew something rather soon.
The thing was flailing, seemingly having four limbs. I knew that because I had enveloped it...and getting rather annoyed, I decided to slowly crush it, to make sure it couldn't escape. Do not poke me with branches. I'm a fragile girl, gueez!
And now, I had to deal with various things. First, the weird, thick substance floating inside of my body, along with the weight of my victim, and annoying 'gurgle gurgle' sounds. Ah, how I wish this thing died faster. Angrily, I tried to move my body, as if it was the fist of an angry god trying to crush the helpless victim, by clenching itself around the annoying noise-maker. The good thing is, the next news made me smile.

I felt like I could feel every inch of the being's body... at least, enough for me to carve its general shape into my memory. Four limbs, along with one head, it was more than enough for me. My current goal was, nothing more, and nothing less, turn back into a human-like form. It shouldn't be that hard......right?
I could feel the struggles of the creature dying down, and I smiled as I felt it turning into nutrients, even as it struggled. It was a rather good, but weird, sensation. Not one that I could feel outside of the game, that's for sure!
By killing a lawful being your infamy has risen by 50! But since there was no witnesses, it was only raised by 10!
And so, that was how I became a criminal. Well, good luck hunting a shape-shifting featureless blob! Either way I had more things to care about, rather than me being somewhat wanted, like trying to imitate the digested being's shape as much as I could.
As much as I tried, to take a human-like form, it seemed this body wasn't adapted quite yet to it. It was like trying to push yourself out of an elastic ball, which was constantly trying to push you back down. But I knew I could do it. I knew I was making progress. All I needed was to remember... remember my own appearence. My long, flowing hair, my beautiful body, my cute face. I knew I could do it.
...And I managed to partially suceed, at the very least. I couldn't keep my form very stable, as it was constantly trying to flow back to the ground, back to the 'normal' shape, while I kept struggling to keep it like this. I could form a vague, humanoid head, although the 'hair' was constantly flowing back downwards, needing me to put more and more effort into it.

Soon enough, though, I managed to stabilize my form: It was still far from being humanoid, but at the very least, it was slightly more human-like.
I couldn't be more glad that slimes lacked stamina, and instead just needed my own willpower. As long as I didn't give up, one time, I'll achieve a perfect form...but for now, I could only wander around like this. I could lift my arms, but in seconds they 'melted' back onto the ground, which then I re-absorbed the goo back into my body... it seems just forming a small head was my current limit, although I wasn't satisfied with just that! I needed to make it human-like enough for me to talk!
But for that...I needed more samples. Deciding to not expose this ability to others, and assuming the other ones of my kind don't become human-like very often, I slowly morphed back into my featureless, round form...and start hunting, for more humans. Infamy is such an overrated stat anyways.
