His body was changing into something new, something more powerful and more durable.
Arlo's soul was blooming, it was expanding in all directions, the energy bound to him was increasing and getting denser by the second. He felt more alive than ever before.
'This feels like heaven'
This unknown sensation continued to flow through his body for a couple more minutes, untill it finally stopped.
[Your soul has partially bloomed]
He laid there for sometime, then slowly opened his eyes.
His eyes were met with a magnificent blue sky which stretched for as far he could see
'Where am I'
He kept staring at the sky with a confused face
He sighed, then using his hands and legs he stood up. He looked at the sky for a moment, then looked downwards, which instantly made him scream
"Ahhhh, what the"
Arlo was floating, well it's what he thought at first. Below him was a thick white fog, which kind of resembled clouds. He was standing in between the clouds and was he sky, but to his surprise he wasn't falling
"Am I standing on something?"
He stood still a while longer, then bent his knees, made his hand into a fist, and shot it downwards
"Ahhh"
He screamed
Arlo's suspicion was correct, he was standing on top a transparent material, it was solid and seemed very thick and dense. It wasn't going to break easily
"Maybe it's glass?"
As he thought about the mysterious material which he was currently standing on, a voice spoke
[Your body has partially bloomed, A power awaits you]
'Partially? How have I partially bloomed? I completed the trial'
His body and soul had evolved, but only partially, which confused Arlo a lot
'Well it doesn't matter right now'
All his focus was on the power he had gotten, anything else wasn't of importance to him right now
With a grin on his face and excitement in his eyes
"Makutu bloom"
New words appeared infront of him
Name - Arlo
Title - ?
Soul - ?
Identity - ?
Natural abilities - [untold fragment], [Good luck], [Unusual eyes]
Power - [Servant of Air]
Weakness - ?
Tools - [Star]
Guards - none
??? - ?
??? - ?
His eyes widened
"Wowwwww, I actually have a power"
Arlo was over the moon, he had actually done it.
With a shaking hand, he pressed on the power
Servant of Air -
Control - [You're able to control a small portion of air which surrounds you]
Authority - [You and the Air are companions, but you have authority over it]
Creation - [You can create a very small amount of air]
"I guess it's not that bad"
His power wasn't the worst, to him it seemed quite versatile. If he was able to get stronger than his power would definitely become dangerous in the future. But for now
"It's kinda meh"
Arlo had quite a stoic expression on his face

"How much is a small portion to makutu, I might or might not, be able to fly depending on how much air I can control"
Overall Arlo wasn't disappointed, his power wasn't that bad.
Being able to control a small portion of Air was kinda cool. Thinking about all the things he could do with his new power made a smile appear on his face
"At first it was kinda meh, but maybe it's more than that"
Arlo couldn't get to excited though, he had only partially evolved which meant that their was more to come.
This unknown place was peaceful, it felt comforting to be at. He closed his eyes and took a big breath in then exhaled
'My life is going to change'
Suddenly makutu spoke once again
[Your trial is over]
As Arlo heard those words, his mind went blank, and then he immediately blacked out
"Wake up"
Arlo heard a calm voice, his mind was distorted and all his senses were messed up
With some struggle Arlo opened his eyes expecting the worse, but all he saw was the bright moon and the beautiful stars shining in the dark sky
"Ah, You're finally awake"
It was the same calm voice from before, Arlo moved his head to the chair next to the tea table.
There sat a man, with brown hair and light blue eyes, his physique was quite imposing but not over the top and he also seemed quite tall.
Arlo's thoughts were all over the place. What was a person doing in his room
"Who are you? And what are you doing here?"
The man stared at Arlo, his expression was calm
"My name is Axel. I am a government officer, who was tasked to kill you if you went rouge"
Awkwardness surrounded the air
"But luckily you didn't turn into some hideous monster. Hahaha"
Hearing the man's words made Arlo loosen up a bit.
'Mr William told the government, so they asked sir Axel to look after me during the trial, which is why he's here. Makes sense'
"When I first saw you, your eyes were staring at the moon, they seemed to be possessed by it"
A small smile appeared on his face
"If you're so focused on the moon, you'll miss the stars"
'What?'
Arlo questionably thought to himeself about what the man was talking about.
"Oh okay, I guess"
The man stood up from the chair, then slowly walked towards where Arlo was sitting, he stopped right infront of him
"Congratulations on partially evolving. What is your name boy?"
They both stared at each another for a considerable amount of time
"My name is Arlo"
The man extended his right hand towards Arlo
"Nice to meet you Arlo. You can call me Sir Axel"
Arlo stared at the man's right hand
"Are you sure you want to shake hands with me? I'm not from the city nor am I someone special"
The man kept his arm forward, his eye's were calm
"Who am I to judge another, when I'm not perfect myself"
A little smile formed on Arlo's face, he extended his right hand, then grabbed the palm of Axel's hand. They shook each another's hand
"Nice to meet you Sir Axel"
The man glanced at him, then walked towards the open window. The air inside the room was dusty, it was quite suffocating.
The man Stared out the window, he glared at the night sky
"Sir Axel, do you know what the time is?"
He didn't look back, his eyes were fixated on the large expanse sky
"When I found you, it was around 7 o'clock now it's roughly 6 in the morning. You were in the trial for 11 hours"
Arlo's mouth widened a bit
'Only 11 hours!'
To him, it felt like he had been in the trial for at least 2 days, plus all the cycles he had done previously. If you were to add it up, then atleast a week should have passed in the real world, but only 11 hours passed by
"Are you sure?"
Arlo said in a hesitant voice
"Yes I'm sure, but don't worry about it too much. The makutu is really mysterious, everyone who undergoes their first trial feels some kind of time distortion, so you aren't the only one experiencing this weird phenomenon"
Axel stopped staring at the sky, he turned his body and shifted his eyes onto Arlo
"Well none of that matters now. Arlo you have partially evolved which is something you should be happy about, however don't get to excited because this isn't the end"
The tone of his voice grew ominous
"In a couple of months, your soul will be sent to the Fallen world."
The man's face saddened a bit, he seemed to be pitying Arlo
'The Fallen world?'
"What is the Fallen world?"
A perplexing look appeared on Axel's face
"Wait, you don't know about the Fallen World?"
Arlo embarrassingly nodded sideways.
Axel walked towards the wooden chair, carefully placed his device on the tea table, then sat on the uncomfortable looking chair
"Don't worry Arlo, I will help you. It seems you lack knowledge about the Fallen World, so then you mostly likely don't know about the other stages of makutu, right?"
After a moment of silence, Arlo opened his mouth ready to speak, but hesitated for a moment.
"Ahhh...All I know is that people can go through more trials, to further evolve"
Axel nodded
"You are correct Arlo. The trial you just went through is what we call half blooming, which means you still have another trial awaiting you, so that u can fully bloom"
The makutu did say that his soul and body had only partially bloomed, so Axel was telling the truth
"Sir Axel, how many trials are their in total?"
Axel had been talking about trials throughout their conversation, which made Arlo wonder the sheer number of trials makutu had presented to humanity
"The makutu has 11 trials, however it's a bit more complicated than that."
Axel sighed
"Arlo you just passed a trial, which made you partially bloom. After you go to the Fallen world and return, your soul will fully bloom. When your soul fully blooms, you will be labelled as a Survivor. However this is where it gets a bit messy"
"The trial you just went through and returning from the Fallen world might seem like two different trials, but it's actually just one big trial."
Arlo titled his head a bit
"How are the two connected to each another?"
Axel briefly looked at Arlo, then grabbed the device sitting on the tea table, he glared at the screen
"The trial you passed gives you a power, it also allows you to see your stats. The reason your soul goes to the Fallen world is to build a connection with it."
"Your soul is now connected to Earth because you passed makutu's trial. This allows you to use your power freely only if you have the sufficient energy for it, but it's different in the Fallen world"
"Until you return to Earth from the Fallen world, your soul won't be connected to it. Which means you will regain your energy much slower and won't be able to use your power freely"
"It's seen as one trial because, when you connect yourself to Earth, you will have to connect to the Fallen World as well."
Arlo quietly nodded
'So if I do one, I have to do the other'
As Arlo thought to himself, Axel stood up from his seat and stared at the moon
"The moon is going to set and the Sun is going to rise. It's time for us to head out"
Arlo glared at him
"Head out? Where are we going"
Axel walked forward, then stopped in the middle of the room
"Your soul will be sent to the Fallen world, so you need to learn the basics of fighting and survival. Which is why"
A couple moments passed by, it seemed Axel was trying to build up some suspense
"We're going to the institution"
