Prologue : A Normal Day (rE : 2)

The morning sun pierced the window and slowly made its way to the charming Hope city. Like a curtain rising the darkness cleared and the day begins....

Somewhere in the city, in a house with only one occupant the day began with a yawn. A boy sleeping until now woke up to the sun rays on his face. That's where our story begins...

----------------------------------------

With a yawn; I opened my eyes. The day is just starting but I already felt like I was forgetting something. Half-groggy; I looked at the clock and realized, "Shit...I am late.."

'Pierce will have my head if I late for his class today..', I quickly got ready and ate my cereals before stopping in front of album.

"Good Morning, Mom Dad. I am late again..I will see you later...", I talked aloud to myself as I do everyday. It didn't matter that I had never remembered meeting them; they were my parents. The clock hand once again moved and I put on my uniform and had to redo my buttons a third time because I did it wrong the first two times. I didn't even have enough time to look into the mirror before I was out of the house.

The day had long since began. A pleasant wind ruffled my clothes the moment I stepped out of my door. The closing door and the clock just behind it alerted me once again as to how late I am.

'Thank God I took the house close to my university or else this would have been one heck of a problem.'

I ran out towards the university. I could see the many bakery shops and could smell the faint fragrance of freshly baked bread. I took a deep breath and with a smile ran faster. Ten minutes later, I entered through the back of an alley next to the university. It is kind of a short-cut. Running over I took the turn and came face to back of a giant guy who many called Billy Rerand (Silly name!) but for me he's Billy the Bug (even siliar! I know).

'Whoa!!!!I still can't help but think he is some sort of mutant. I mean it's not cool to be this judgmental but he is a bonafide bully so he deserves this.'

I ran around him before he could turn back and show me his beetle like eyes and the horrific small nose making him seem like answer to the question:

'What do you get when you mate something that you shouldn't?'

"Catch you later Buggy, right now gotta run", I ran without even turning to look back. This guy thought of himself as some sort of a mafia but he and I already had some dealings back in high school which means I don't give a shit who he thinks he is.

"ROMMAN! You stop right there you little piece of shit. I will get you for yesterday. Wait right there..", saying he started running or more like bulldozing over to me. He is pretty slow for a rugby player.

"You never learn, do you? Catch me; in your dreams", I ran into and through the not-yet-full corridors and greeted some acquaintances on the way.

"No running in the hallway", Mr. Mcourty greeted me as usual. His stiff smile and slightly balding head made him look more like the next door neighbor than a strict professor.

"Won't happen again?", I smiled at him rhetorically.

Reaching the science department, past the batch of students, up the stairs to the second floor and down the hall to reach my classroom I made it there and beat my personal record time.

"Not quite late today, Mr. Edzino. At least it seems like you are improving", said my Latin language teacher Mrs. Mcourty as she gestured me into the class.

"I try Ma'am", I said suddenly being too humble which didn't fool her eyes. Sitting in my usual bench I looked out the window to see the sun half way across the sky and the gust of wind that greeted me when I sat down.

'It's a good day.'

"Okay class, let's continue from where we left off yesterday. The possible ramifications and any possibilities of alterations to the ..."

The period passed and by the second period rolled of Japanese culture, I started thinking with my stomach. Those morning cereals seemed to have disappeared somewhere. I am really hungry; like eat a giraffe hungry. I should have bought some bread from that Rosemary shop.

The moment the bell rang, I ran through the crowd of people making my way towards the cafeteria. Picking my plate, I started filling it up with sausages, a burger an unhealthy amount of fries and yogurt. Caught a free Table and was just about to eat when someone patted my shoulder.

"Hey man, its good to see your appetite is strong as usual", the voice behind me said.

I turned and behind me stood a 6 ft tall man-child, brown hair and a shaggy beard: John Haddleson, one of my friends, decent guy who likes basketball and is one of the most wanted student from the Hottest guys in the university some girls had 'secretly' did a poll of.

There are two reasons for this :

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

1. This guy is rich like millionaire rich from an inheritance left by his grandfather.

2. This guy is really Rich ....

(Okay fine he looks a bit handsome)

"What can I say, I love my foood. So how did the Bahamas treat you buddy?", I said looking directly at his dark toned skin.

"Got freaking hot there and I don't mean just the girls. Romman; you should have been there, it was so nice to get 'introduced' to some of the girls there. You know 'introductions' are really enjoyable. You get what I mean...", he said brushing my shoulders and moving his eyebrows around.

"Whose introducing who?" came a voice I could remember anywhere. It is the university top beauty Alisia Mais, a natural blonde who packs a mean punch. She looks so gorgeous in her simple white dress with exposed shoulders and her high heels that made her legs feel so damn long. She is one of the popular example of Brains and Beauty.

Right behind her is my childhood friend Lisa Montley. She looked petite and cute in her bubble gum pink dress. She with her slick glasses fit the image of a professor perfectly and in most cases she was quite a good teacher for my remedial classes.

"Seems like we interrupted their trash boy talk. We should leave Alisia, these guys are nothing but perverts anyway", I threw up one of my hands while still stuffing my face with fries.

"Hey don't pull me into it. It was he who was talking all of that", I said pointing towards John who mouthed 'Bastard' when I finally swallowed my food.

Lisa turned on him and made him gulp, just before she could start John smiled and waved his hand over her head to someone behind me.

"Hey Sam, here. I saved you a seat.", his grin could rip his mouth when he pointed at the seat next to me.

'No! He didn't.., my mind started and ended when I heard a very irritating voice.

"Seems like you still eat like an animal", said the cool voice behind me.

I turned around to see Samuel Vitty (not funny at all!). Reaching my height with his black hair, we looked eye to eye before I focused on the food.

"Let me finish my food before we start", I took a bite from a sausage and chewed quickly.

"Why should I? Free Country remember. Oh and by the way; Are you the reason for World Hunger too?", Samuel asked mockingly.

"I said Let me finish my food or else.."

"Or else what..you gonna eat my food too.", he condescends gesturing at his plate.

Just as I was about to get up, someone hit me on the head and the pain rattled me enough that I sat down. I heard another hit behind me, seems like Sam was not exempted.

"Shut up, BOTH of you. Its barely been the start of the day and again you start fighting", Alisia was sort-of medium between us friends. I mean Sam and me are friends....distant friends..yeah sort of actually no.

"I swear sometimes I feel as if they are best friends by the way they talk", chipped in John.

"We are not"

"Who cares", came two reply. The former being mine. With that dose of drama over, we had our lunch silently or as silently as one could have with our group.

Finishing up, we chatted and went our ways. All of us had loads of assignments to fulfill and submit so we wouldn't be able to meet tonight so we said our goodbyes and made our way to the remaining day lectures.

After returning home, I made myself some food. I didn't want to brag to someone but I am a decent cook. I mean well you get used to all the cooking when you literally live alone. Took a bath and stood in front of the mirror.

A guy about 5'11 whose green eyes looked dull looked back at me. My curly jet black hair were wet and blocked my right eye. A big scar ran down from my heart to almost my stomach in the diagonal fashion. I touched it and suddenly my vision went cloudy.

Memories un-beckoned and suddenly I am scared stiff. Someone pushed me aside, all I saw was black hair and a car falling right towards me.

I shook my head. Words and sounds ringing in my head

"The past is the past Romman. Live in the Present", this being the psychiatrist.

I sat on my balcony sipping coffee from my old cup and staring at the stars and also at the people down who ran here and there like machines and ants.

'Did they really have a purpose anymore? or was this just Life?'

I shook my head, today was the anniversary of 'The Accident' as they all called it. For me my life changed on this very day and though I have overcame my loss, it always seemed to make me more than a bit sad and irritated. I looked towards the stars and just then a shooting star passed over.

"Change the World", I wished ruefully. The wind picked up suddenly as if a god somewhere sneezed. I turned as I heard something behind me. The photo of my parents had just fallen down. I picked it up and thankfully it hadn't broken up. I cleaned the dust on it and placed it back on the shelf.

----------------------------------------

But unknown to Romman for a moment the stars outside darkened and the night got ghostly dark with no star light. Later on the few astronomers would call this night "The Dark Sky" without knowing the reason of its sudden appearance.

After a few moments the stars twinkled again brightly than ever and a floating box appeared right in front of the sleeping Boy.
