'Huh what's this? It didn't hurt as much as it should...'
The blue window appeared in front of me and in front of Ariel saying the same thing but I didn't pay much attention.
'Why, well cause there was a 8 ft tall half elephant half man standing in front of me between me and the exit of the class.'
Ariel had hidden herself next to the lecture podium as soon as the creature had came out of nowhere which wasn't good.
'What the heck was happening?' , the screams outside were grating my ears and my horror at recognizing a few of them made me stop and stare at the door. In between the screams the university building started rumbling. It felt as if the whole damn structure was coming down.
'Shit, you need to move right now.', I forced myself to forget about the giant in front of me and turned to Ariel.
"Hide in the closet, I will distract this thing", I shouted between the screams to Ariel. The closet was a small cupboard close to the podium where brooms and some necessary stuff were kept but it could fit a person and right now Ariel needed to hide and I needed to run. I couldn't send her outside in such danger. So I waved my hands at the Elep-man and made sure to keep his attention on me.
Un-fortunately it seemed much more interested in the screaming guy on the third bench.
"Jason", I hollered at him trying to force him to stop screaming and start moving. His eyes focused on me for a second before he ducked out of fear from the swing of the Elep-man. The monster roared and swung his trunk at Jason. Not anticipating this move, I saw Jason getting hit and being sent flying.
"Noooo", I despaired seeing the blood on the wall as he slid down; his fate unknown. The Elep-man turned and looked towards me and a gust from his breath blew a stinky foul air at me.
Now I had only one way to get out ; ergo the window. The safety sill beneath the window would do well for landing and the steel frame could take me and Ariel down from there.
I threw a nearby chair at the window while keeping an eye on the monster. It stood perfectly still. The glass shattered and a few seconds later I knew the answer. There was another monster which had just come right next to me from who knows where and in the next second, I felt myself flying through the air out the window right towards the neighboring room window on the opposite wall of neighboring building. For a second there all I saw was the little garden and the walkway created between the two neighboring buildings.
The window neared me and all I could do was brace for impact. The moment I hit, it was like my body was on fire. A glob of blood made its way to my mouth, I spit it out. Black spots danced in my vision and I barely saw a blue panel in front of me.

I hit the opposing wall, felt a metallic crash and then something hit me on my head and the darkness enveloped me.
----------------------------------------
I was running
'No..Not this dream again.'
I ran like there was no tomorrow and the fear gripped my heart like an iron vice making it beat so fast. Then I stumbled and I was falling through the air screaming my lungs out, suddenly I woke up in front of a mirror. All I saw was a little boy of barely 12 soaked in rain and blood. The blood of his parents and his past all in one.
The boy smiles and the smile was filled with happiness, happiness that he is still alive; that he is alive when his parents died to save him; to protect him.
Then the mirror rippled and a pair of hands would come out, hands that I so wished were real, the hands that belonged to my mother and then she stepped out from the mirror with the same eyes as the last time I saw them; dead.
I am stiff ; paralyzed, only my eyes moved and stared as my mother stepped out of the mirror wearing her white floral dress with blood stains all over her back.
"How has my little angel living his life?", said the expressionless figure in front of him while slowing extending her hands. Just as the hands were about to reach, someone would tug on my clothes and I couldn't help but turn and see myself; my younger self looking at me with hate filled eyes.
"We don't deserve it, we never deserved them. They were all too good for us, you know it."
"No, I didn't left them behind on purpose. I was trying to save them", I cried with my voice but the next second I found it was gone as were my other motor functions. I was nothing but a statue and I was left standing as they advanced and kept repeating the same exact words always.
"No, you left us for dead and ran for your life. You were so happy when they found you, happy that you were alive, happy that you didn't die with us", it was his dad. Only his eyes remained on his otherwise white face. His brown hair were matted to one side with blood and dirt.
Their hands were just about to reach him and he once again felt the dread, the fear creeped on him like a snake. His limbs shook endlessly and just as their hands touched him, he felt as if he was burning and freezing at the same time.
----------------------------------------
"NOOO ", I screamed and then I was awake and listening to my own hoarse voice screaming out. Right there in front stood the blue box again blinking.
For a second all I could feel was fear, pain and the guilt which I suppressed for so many years. This day was getting worst and worst.

"Status?", I called out confused.
Initiation Conditions Not Completed
Since you are the ?? , a fairness perspective is locked on you. Mandatory conditions have to be fulfilled before your system is initiated
'Initiation Conditions? What the heck is going on?'
I furiously swiped my arm at the boxes, my arm just passed through and the boxes faded but the pain returned with twice the intensity. I wanted to scream loudly but I clenched my teeth and bit my lips to muffle my voice and endured it. The situation wasn't right. I had got to move and find something to fix me and then find answers. What were these blue boxes? What the hell was happening ? What the hell were those monsters ?
I touched my head which was throbbing and saw blood on my fingers. Great a concussion and a blood loss. Looks like this box; whatever it was wasn't wrong. I checked my surroundings, I saw myself sitting on a lump of metal which had deformed under my...er ... fall I guess. Opposite me stood the half destroyed window through which I fell. I was amazed I didn't die from such a fall, I mean I flew through a good 20 ft before I smashed through the window so is this the moment where a ray of sunshine falls on me and I start believing in God. I looked at the sky for a moment stupidly.
'Nope no ray of sunshine falling...sigh and here I thought I was about to get my gift of Belief. It must be somehow related to the System, well I did see something about fatal accident being ignored or something ...oh well at least I am alive...'
I somehow sat up and tried to discern my surroundings. The metallic taste of blood was present, as was blood on my clothes. My clothes were a bit shredded and were all marked with blood; my blood. The wounds were small but numerous and they itched every time I moved. At least the blood loss had stopped except from my head.I needed to patch my head up and some painkillers would be nice.
Self-Diagnosis complete. I checked my surroundings, if I wasn't wrong and judging by the amount of painting stands lying around, I would say that I was in the painting classroom.
The lights were out but the sunlight came in to show me the room. It was quiet. As if the screams were all muted, I couldn't hear any of them. It shouldn't be this quiet. Did all the monsters die or something. Is the security here or perhaps the army. No they wouldn't leave me here like this.
The metallic taste in my mouth disgusted me so I spat the blood in my mouth out and tried to stand up but the pain flared badly .
Roar..!
'Shit!!! What the fuck was that ?'
It was nothing like a roar more like a bomb just exploded beside my ear and the sound was extended for a couple seconds longer. My ears were practically deaf and numb. I was scared now, just listening to the roar, I knew that it was not even on the level of Elep-man that I saw. The distance between this roar and Elep-man's roar was like Sky and Earth. Seriously I felt shaken to the core and the reason for my fear because whoever or whatever roared was very very near my location.
'Shit have to move away from here or else..'
I somehow managed to move and get-up to scout my surroundings. Things were not looking good and I paid great attention to the direction from where the roar came from. I removed my phone only to find that it too had been smashed by the fall.
'Sigh, if I am not wrong this was the art section which was the complete opposite ours so..'
The university I studied in was Olympus University for Education and Technology so naturally it was huge like If I wanted to just walk through the structures and the surrounding various training grounds, I had to start running . Then it was further distributed by making structures related to a specific study like Sports, Art, Science, Medicine and Literature.
Drawing, painting, various types of abstract art and who knows what were all in Art Building which was shaped like an A.
Applied science, Technology, Chemistry were all housed in the Science section which was the largest structure around and which had a ton of PhD level graduates working on different projects. It was conveniently place the closest to the entrance and had a large amount of security.
Literature was smallest of the lot and shaped like a huge H with two buildings linked closely with barely enough space for a walkway, a garden and a pond used for recreational purposes. It too was separated in two parts according to the type of studies or the when of the studies. The building I am in studies in the knowledge of Present and the future while the building from where I flew here was the basis of study of the past like for me it is ancient languages.
ROAR...!
'SHIT that is very close I gotta hurry.'
I skipped a little because of the roar and steadied myself before I started making my way to the only thing that can help me right now. The medical wing since the buildings were direct mirror images of each other, I had a rough idea of its location but its the roar that is so frightening that I can barely breath from fear. Every step I take is an agony on my body and the fear on my mind. This pressure is so real, now I understand when that old soldier used to talk about. Not knowing when you die is perhaps the greatest fear any human could have.
I made my way to the door leading to the hallway but I stopped there, someone was breathing outside. The breathing was rough as if in pain and so rapid that I felt that whoever it was about to die. I opened the door without a second thought and looked outside. The person I saw had one no right wrist and no right leg and it looked as if something had just chewed right through them; something very big .
I almost puked when I saw the huge amount of blood but it wasn't the blood that made me fear, it was the feeling of Death. He looked almost dead and I knew that he wouldn't live no matter what I did.
I went towards the left and took his left hand and suddenly he woke up, clutched me with a vice like grip.
"Run, there is a monster..Run ...", then the body slumped and I knew that he had passed away. It wasn't his not rising heart but his vacant eyes that told me the truth. I had seen such eyes countless times in my nightmares and now in reality. It was almost as if he was reserving his last breath just to save someone. He was a good man.
'Good man but weak..! '
"Who!"
I almost jumped and the pain raged again. The voice right now was so clear that I felt the owner right next to me. The voice sounded familiar..too familiar but why can't I remember?. Just what the heck is happening here? I feel a headache coming on...
"I am really going insane now, ain't I?", I asked stupidly rubbing my face, I was getting a bit dizzy.
I looked at the old man whose eyes were still open in fright and desperation. I moved my hands to his eyes and slowly closed them.
'You were a good man, now rest in peace.'
I sure am not a believer neither am I an atheist, I have always kind of felt that HE like all of us does some things for a reason if he does even exist. Well that's all I have on religion.
ROAR!
'Though now on hindsight, I think I should start believing in God....Goddammit is the world going to hell? Apocalypse?'
I made my way down the hallway walking over to the medic room, whatever the monster is; it seems to be below me on the ground floor so for now it seems I am safe. I took a left in the next turn and went ahead always keeping an eye to my back.

The medical room appeared in my sight with its plain silver color plate: Medic Room and on the door was splattered blood and a bloody hand print near the handle.
'I have a bad feeling about this...'
In the medical wing stood a green creature with a hacking knife in his hands and he was repeatedly hacking a corpse lying on the floor. I immediately hid myself against the door frame.
'Shit..A Goblin.'
I had to get myself treatment and the only way to do so was the big red box hanging just beyond the green creature.
'Seems like this really is a game'
I tried to ignore the possibility but my mind kept finding reasons for me like the small green box right on top of the monster
Goblin Scout

'No I need more information.'
And if this was a game then that would surely be a goblin and he was standing right next to the emergency box, which means that if I want to live ergo it has to die.
I looked around trying to find something anything to use as a weapon. Unfortunately the closest thing to a weapon was in the hands of the green thing. If I was silent, I could wretch it out of his hands and then I will have a fighting chance.
Taking a deep breath, I tried to steady my thundering heart in my chest. Well desperate times desperate measures.
'Fuuuuuk..... okay I got this..'
Rethinking on my plan, I finally got ready and slowly opened the door once again. It wasn't apparent on the first time but the room reeked of blood and the constant rhythmic sounds of a metal hitting flesh. I saw the goblin trying to kick and smash the female body as if enacting personal vengeance, then I noticed the thin trail of green blood flowing down it's chest. It had been injured, not too badly but I was sure the vengeance was for this reason only.
'This thing is really an animal, does it even have a conscience?'
The corpse was of a woman, maybe 30-ish. The Goblin had badly mutilated her face so I couldn't recognize her. I rechecked myself and then the Goblin.

Hp : 90/100
Negative Status : Minor Blood Loss
'Oh it updated itself, huh...Was it cause I noticed it's blood loss.? Okay so he has about 90 hp..health points I guess and I have only 12.'
But I couldn't stop myself now, I was losing health and I needed the medicine now.
I ran towards the Goblin's back with as much speed as I could muster and before it could turn it's head I already was upon it smashing it into the cabinet while trying to wrestle the knife from his hands. I bit back the scream that tried to come out due to my body feeling like it was on fire. The Goblin's height reached my waist but boy he was strong. Almost as strong as me. I took his head and banged it on the cabinet behind it but the Goblin shook it's head and tried to stab me with the knife. Then he started biting whatever his mouth could reach and due to it's height and body structure the closest thing were my hands and calf.
Trying to dodge the crazy biting and scratching monster, I felt a bit dizzy. My body was hurting too much and there were black spots on the edge of my vision.
'I had to finish this quickly or else...'
I started banging it's head continuously on the cabinet in the hopes of giving him a concussion and I felt I succeeded when suddenly the knife clattered out of it's hands and to the floor. My hands unconsciously lagged just for a single moment before I was on the floor beside the knife and the little goblin stood over me.
'Shit this guy is smart.'
The little piece of shit took full advantage of the changed position and I had to cover my face with my hands to defend it's assault. The bastard went for the knife but my reach was further and it's tiny hands could do was to try and claw my face.
I bared the assault and in a fit of desperation waved the knife around trying to hurt him, the goblin startled tried to get out of the way but in the next moment I found my chance when an unearthly roar sounded and for the Goblin to loose focus. This was it, I was in it's face and my leg was in it's stomach and without any proper fanfare it flew across the room like some sort of sick ball and crumbled against the opposite wall.
It didn't get up and I breathed a sigh of relief almost falling down to the ground as my adrenaline-deprived body met my pain-filled brain but I steadied myself and stumbled towards the medical supply. I closed the door, found the cabinet set aside for excessive injuries.
I cleaned my smaller wounds with the antiseptic and the larger wounds were bandaged up with gauze. The pain-killers worked wonders on my mind after I found myself a bed to lay down on. For some reason I saw the boxes changed when I first-aided myself. The description were different for all the medical supplies too and I was surprised to know that pain-killers were actually treated as health pill.

My sleep was restless and I kept waking up in minutes just to go unconscious immediately. By the time I woke up not feeling the pain in my head and not feeling that my body had just been under a bus.
HP: 45/100
I got up just so I could re-bandage my blood filled wounds. I used any and all available materials to create a block to the door. I decided to make sure that I will for now make this medic room my HQ. The work complete I finally paid my own surroundings some attention and froze when the low growls of something moving towards me and on the same floor were noticed.
I stiffened in panic and fear because I finally realized why the Goblin was so scared, it realized that the roar came from the very floor and as I stood there hoping a false hope that the creature will pass me by. The false hope was shattered when the wall opposite me and parallel to the hallway was blown open and in strode the stuff of nightmares.
It was an honest to God: A Lion; well at least the basic form of a lion because the similarities stopped there and what followed was pure fear. Black color with hints of gold covered everything from his jet black mane to the base of it's tail. Specks of gold fell down as it moved and flicked its tail or mane. The tail seemed to be made up of the reverse scales stacked on each other and the tip was the same as a Scorpion's. Standing on four legs with height reaching mine, staring at me on my own level were a pair of red eyes with almost child-like curiosity which seemed harmless but the animal was anything but.
Yes if I wasn't about to die. I would have been awed by the majestic beast in front of me but all I felt was fear when I saw the blood stains on it's footprints and last time I checked the Goblin's were green blooded so ergo the thing had killed humans before or perhaps something with red-blood.

'HOLY FUCKER IN HELL!'
I remained absolutely still hoping to act like a statue, the fear ran rampant through my veins, my back marked with blood became wet with cold sweats and I damn well knew that I was shivering now my knees barely held together in front of the monstrosity in front of me. There was no saying when it started but by the time I knew I had already pissed my pants and the dirty smell of urine filled the room. The creature paused for just a second before continuing my way, it's red eyes fixed on me. It's massive body giving rise to suicidal thoughts in my brain and seeing as there was a window right behind me made my stupid little mind to just jump through but I repressed these thoughts for I knew any sudden actions and I would die before I even jumped.
So there I stood in front of my possible deaths and for the first time in my life I could somehow feel every breath I took, my heart beat almost thundered in my ears and I felt my blood all but freeze in my veins. The feeling was palpable and the only thing I could feel is that I didn't want to die; not now and not like this. The creature hadn't attacked yet and the exit being in arm's reach; my hope re-kindled that it may just leave me. I hoped and prayed to whichever God I could remember that This Thing would just leave me alone.
The creature raised his paw and without any theatrics swung it on me. My mind could barely keep up with the speed and the next moment I was smacked to the right of the wall which didn't break but I felt my back get set on fire and dark spots clouded my vision almost immediately but I couldn't stay down now cause I understood just what it wanted from me.
It was playing with me.
'The Big Fucking Cat was playing with it's food before it devoured it.'
"This Bastard....", the pain muddled my brain but even in death how could I let it go unscratched.
'No if I die than at least I will make sure that you have something to remember me by....'
I stood up groggily and the creature growled slowly when it saw me. The System informed me that my recovered HP had just been halved but I didn't care; now not when my chances of getting out of this situation were practically non-existent.
Perhaps it is the moment before death or perhaps I did go crazy but I forgot the pain, forgot the fear and my eyes gained the resolute decision that this was it. This was how I make my Grand Exit to the world. So let's go out with a Bang.
No weapons could be seen in my surroundings and the creature was nearing again but a small noise distracted it and it turned around to look at the formerly blown away goblin standing up and trying to run away and I found my chance to do what I absolutely wanted.
I rushed towards the damn Cat but as I already knew and as was seen by it's high level, it immediately moved it's head towards me and swiped upwards it's paw with a growl.
Then it happened; the world slowed down around me just like a movie and the paw which I had been unable to even see was now floating in mid-air and my body felt heavier than anything but I had my chance now. Suddenly the feeling of pain vanished and hundreds of techniques showed themselves in my eye all to counter the situation.
For a second I saw a clone of myself jump over the paw, another one slid under the creature, another tried to defend with it's arm and another tried it with a nearby table. There was only one of them where I jumped right towards the creature deftly managed to turn my body in mid-air and hurt the only thing most sensitive in any animal.
I chose that option and the time resumed, the paw neared and as I had seen myself I deftly moved past the paw and with the full strength I had I threw my arms directly inside the creature's eyes. The creature was smart but even he was caught off-guard when a mere pest in his eyes had attacked it in such close proximity. The creature's reaction was sub-par at best and the result was a loud painful roar that ripped apart my ear drums and I could feel the world getting tipsy-turvy because my balance was gone now.
My hands were in his eyes, the insides squishy and black blood fell out to mark my hands with it. It could see my skin darken as if burned but I ignored the slight burning smell and used my full force to hurt him even more. The creature's tail lashed out with full force and penetrated my chest right through but I didn't feel it. Whatever had happened to me made me forget the pain, the fear and focus on the last task that I will ever do.
I moved my hands inside the creature heads ignoring it's tail and paws attack on my body. I felt around it's head and finally found something hard like a small ball which when I held the creature started thrashing even more violently so I gripped it with my hands and started moving it right out of it's head.
The creature went fully crazy after that and started running right towards the window like it wanted to escape and right as it jumped with me on its face and only one eyes, a huge pair of wings as black as midnight erupted out of it's back. I felt that once I removed small ball in my hands from the brain; the creature would die or at least will be heavily injured so I tugged and tugged and removed it.
I held it for just a second to see the golden intricate lines scribbled around the black ball shine brightly and then gravity took hold as the creature suddenly stopped flying and I was barraged by a tens of System windows opening which I promptly ignored.
Suddenly the pain returned, a thousand....nay a million times worse than I could have ever imagined. I looked down at my chest and I could see the hole in my heart right through to the incoming ground. My eyes widened to saucers, for a second right before impact I saw heard voices, very familiar voices.
'For only when you are right in front of Death's Door will you remember the cost of Living.'
It was my Grandpa's most prized sentences of all that he had told me on his death bed and which was etched on his tomb-stone. I smiled at the thought of what he would say when I met him.
As per Newton's law, up we were and down we went. I blacked out the moment I fell from the creature's back now dead-tired and the force of falling from 40 meter height hit my body like a sledge-hammer.
