Chapter 7: First kill

"Damn it!!" Turning around, Jay opens his mouth and spews out a piece of silk towards the D. Bull Tadpole

Tadpole, caught off guard was instantly wrapped in Jay's silk attack, but not stopping there, Jay rushes forward.

Although Caterpie does not have legs and therefore may not be as fast as Tadpole, but the silk Jay spat out is not only for show. As it has the ability to reduce his enemies speed thus granting him more than enough time for a follow up attack.

Rushing forward, Jay does a full body tackle on Tadpole, sending it flying backwards.

"Ouch, that hurt." He grits his teeth from the pain of impact, but still continue to attack.

Considering we are both level 3, I'm not taking any chances.

Catching up to Tadpole, he repeats his previous attack pattern, but unlike before. The silk that previously bounded Tadpole tightly were now loose, giving Tadpole the opportunity to break free.

Unfortunately for it, it was all too late, because when it finally broke free. The first thing that greeted Tadpole's soft body was Jay's painful full body tackle.

Again, Tadpole was sent flying backwards and because it no longer had Jay's silk to cushion its fall, its soft body colided heavily with the ground.

Blood coloured liquad spilt out from its mouth, resulting in its previous blood-red body to become transparent.

[Ding, Congratulations host for defeating a level 3 Devils Bull Tadpole (Late Stage) and receiving 10 Exp + 5 bonus Exp]

[15 Exp until level 4]

Hearing this prompt, Jay relaxes his nerves and breathes a sigh of relief, but then showed a look of pain. They made it look so easy when using Tackle in the anime, yet the use of this damn move leaves your whole body in pain.

Moving his painfull body, he turns his attention towards the source of his troubles. Of course, this time not being the system.

But when he turned around, rather than seeing a fellow Caterpillar rushing towards him in admiration and thanks. He sees a lazy, little Caterpillar laying on the ground and even having the audacity to munch on his Wacan Berry.

"Damn you, you ungrateful little prick." Gritting his teeth in anger, Jay slowly approaches the little Caterpillar.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Little Caterpillar, having no idea its rescuer was slowly approaching it full of rage, was still happily munching on the Wacan Berry.

Finallly arriving behind little Caterpillar, Jay smiles menacingly, then let's out a grin. Haha, let's see how you eat my Wacan Berry while you are dead.

But before Jay could even begin his attack, little Caterpillar unexpectedly turns around. Spotting Jay, it squeals with excitement and hugged him, with visible tears streaming down its face.

Seeing this, Jay's eyes narrows, but noticing the string on the ground behind little Caterpillar, his expression became ugly. "Isn't it a bit late for a thank you hug, after you already ATE MY BLOODY WACAN BERRY, LEAVING ONLY A GODDAMN STRING!!"

Jay's outburst of anger caused little Caterpillar to step back in fright. Then changed its tear of joy into tears of sadness as it dropped from its emerald eyes.

All this still had no effect on Jay, but just as Jay wer angry. His expression started drastically changing, turning into a look of fear, because..

[Host, a reminder, the system detected a Rank 7 creature moving slowly towards host current area. PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION.]

Listening to the system, he looks around and discovers that the entire forest had gone silent, no creature were visible or, tree swaying. Only the cries of the wind were heard or is it..

Looking at the crying Caterpillar next to him, he becomes nervous and tries to coax it to shut up. "Shhh, it's fine, I'm sorry just please don't. Please? Please?"

Unfortunately for him, it all proved ineffective, not helping even the slightest bit.

Damn this Caterpillar is going to doom the both of us... Sigh, i guess I can only use that. With a sad expression and a flash of light, he summoned a Wacan Berry.

Seeing this, overjoyed little Caterpillar felt as it greedily breathes in the Wacan Berry's scent.

Although feeling a pang of pain in his heart for the sacrifice of this expensive and delicious berry. He still manages to ignore this scene. Using his body, he drags little Caterpillar towards the nearby bushes for cover.

While Jay dragged little Caterpillar, it also dragged the Wacan Berry, which was twice its size.

A minute or two later, they finally arrived at the bushes. Jay breathes a sigh of relief, but looking at the carefree Caterpillar next to him, he curses internally. Can you still have the time to think about eating even in a crisis. What's worst is, its eating my last Wacan Berry, worth 30 Gold. The feels of crying without tears appeared in his sad heart.

'Rumble'

A loud sound resounded throughout Devils Forest as the earth beneath Jay's suction cup feet trembled in response.

'Gulp' Listening to this sound, and the earth tremble, Jay shivered, only imagining how giant a monster must truly be, to be capable of achieving such a feat.

Next to Jay, little Caterpillar had already stopped its movements the moment this sound appeared, and was now shivering in fear.

'Rumble'

'Rumble'

The sound of the giant unknown creature grew ever closer as part of the forest Jay was in started slowly turning dark. In the shadow of this enormous creature, not even the light of the sun could illumate the darkness of its shadow.

Noticing the change in environment, Jay swallows with fear. But while he was fearful, a new emotion also appeared in him, excitement. Having never seen sush a creature on Earth. He was truly excited and curious to see what this creature looks like, and that he did....

As his body instinctively moved on it own. In this moment all fear were replaced and thrown away.

But there was one that did not like Jay's current actions, that being little Caterpillar, who was screaming internally, but did not dare move.

Jay in the blink of an eye had unknowingly reached the enterence, moving his head outside, he looks upwards.
