Going further into the tunnel the torches line the walls creating dancing shows as the flames flicker and crackle, looking to the ceiling he notices thick white streaks of cobwebs plastering the surface "i hate spiders" Eli murmurs under bated breath. The tunnel’s floor starts becoming smoother in contrast to the debris and concreate filling the now destroyed lecture theatre, a hint of sadness flares up within Eli whenever he thinks of his destroyed desk, many blissful days were spent napping there.

After around 10 minutes of carefully and cautiously moving through the caverns did he see a faint light peeking around what seemed to be a tattered wooden door. Staying as close to the wall as possible, Eli crept forward trying to stifle any noise coming from his footsteps and took slow quiet breaths as he wanted the advantage of surprise on whatever was in that room, discovering its harder then it looks in a situation where you can’t see the floor as well filled Eli with frustration. Patience wasn't one of his strong points! Being hot-blooded runs in the family, when suddenly out of nowhere another screen popped up startling him.

Skill Gained: Sneak (Active) Level 1(0/100) 5 MP per Min:- Withdraw aura, scent and magical presence according to level. While active 5% harder to detect and footsteps are muffled, increase concealment in darkness and foliage. +1 Dexterity +1 Perception each level. Like a Thief in the Night

'There's so many situations where i could of done with this' Eli sighed internally thinking back to trying and failing to sneak out of classrooms after attendance was taken. 'At least I've finally got some use for mana! wonder if I'll be firing of spells left right and center!' he mused before snapping his attention back to the task at hand. He knew there was a way out somewhere and Eli would rather push on then go back down a different tunnel. 'Here we go' Eli thought reassuring himself. The door was slightly ajar, it wasn't doing much to keep anyone out since a third of the wood looks to be rotted in various different places with multiple holes punched in the wood making Eli wonder why anyone bothered to ever strap hinges to such a thing and use it in the first place! 'Good thing I’m underground, wouldn’t want a breeze blowing the door off its hinges' Eli snickers at his own thoughts.

Whilst holding down his amusement it quickly turns to near gagging as a stench far-far worse than the lecture theatre assaults his senses. The smell reminding him of the time he had to shovel shit on his uncles farm but much, much worse “Fuck” Eli mummers to himself. Pushing through the stench Eli gets closer to the door, the light coming from inside looks like its piercing through the darkness mimicking small golden laser beams.

Approaching slowly Eli activates his new stealth skill, looking at him from another perspective it would seem his outline blurrs and they find it hard to focus on his figure, crouching low he peers through the hole into a small cavern which he estimates to be around the same the size of a cargo container. The light was coming from a small campfire placed near the center of the room 'If there’s a campfire inside then there’s an exit somewhere, I don’t think anything's stupid enough to suffocate themselves when there’s no more oxygen for the fire to use' cursing the fact that his parents forcing him to go to school had some actual effect. Whilst in thought he spots a sprawled figure on the floor close to the campfire.

Looking to be no more then 4ft in height it laid on the bare stone floor, ‘it’ was the correct term because what was in front of him definitely wasn’t Human or anything else he’d seen before! What caught Eli’s eye was that this supposed child size humanoid had thick arms and legs showing definition and refinement of something that’d been surviving its entire life. Bulky green arms with legs thick showing the countless amount of running this creature must have done was sharply contrasted a belly putting the largest beer gut to shame! Skin a horrid dark green colour and face uglier than a decomposed rat. Eli could make this comparison as he glances over to the discarded pile of what seems to be left over food and excrement all piled into one “guess that’s causing the smell” Eli winced.

Further into the room there seems to be a table with a book and various pages sprawled open upon the worktop with what seems to be a small figure hunched over on a chair with legs not quite reaching the floor, looking quite comical as it swings its legs and grunts while dribbling and staring intently at the pages causes Eli to have a small lift in moral as he forgets the fact that he’s in a unknown cave on his own facing whatever creatures and monstrosities called this place their home. With all these facts it led Eli to a conclusion that made him question his sanity, these could only be one thing

Goblin: Small humanoid creature surviving at the lowest end of the universal food chain

Skill Gained: Identify Level 1(0/100) Passively gather information on the surrounding using senses and when prompted will show gathered data on subject. +1 Perception each Level Like a studious scholar or a low key Sherlock Holmes

Eli felt a bit wierd reading these descriptions, the endings always seemed weird. Whenever he got a new skill a strange, bizzare and sometimes badass ad libs he was getting from this system. Gazing back into the room Eli looks around for impliments which he could use to disable or kill the two targets in the room "Whilst unarmed combat is fun taking on these unknown threats with bare hands seems a bit risky" Eli absentmindedly joked, he had all the time in the world the sleeping goblin was snoring loud enough to earn sneer every now and then from the goblin at the table which means im going to have to be fast in my fist kill of the goblin thats sleeping or i take out the goblin at the desk first, i've got to decide.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

Spotting a rock on the floor near the entrance with a sharp edge and enough heft to cause blunt force trauma Eli picks the rock up. Having decided he would leave the sleeping goblin till last so he could silence the goblin at the table first, moving forward and placing a hand on the damp rotted door and slowly pushing the door seemlessly open slightly ajar, sliding round the corner of the door and quickly and carefully darting for the rock unheard seemed to be a success, flanking the table goblin un-noticed ending directly postioned behind the chair, rock in hand ready to strike at the goblin which i now see is staring at what seems to be a erotic picture book it must of happened to pick up. "explains the dribbling" Eli thought in disgust.

Lowering his stance left foot infront of the other Eli made a large semi-circle arc with his right hand using leverage and maximum rotation Eli drove the hard point of the sharp rock straight through the goblins esophagus poking out the other side of its throat. Sheer terror and fury could be seen on the dying goblins face as it could do anything but gurgle and spout the occasional steam of blood like a fountain in the movies, wanting to end this quickly as his new situation is a bit more brutal then he anticipated Eli pushes through again ending its life. Unfortunatly for Eli he wasnt quiet enough and the goblin that was sleeping woke up, turning around facing the wretched green monstrosity, Eli smiled. The goblin on the other hand having seen what Eli did to its comrad shrieked as loud as possible, wanting to silence it as quickly as possible, in 3 quick strides Eli was upon him, the force and mass he was carrying with him barrled him into the goblin knee first straight into the stomach, knocking all semblance of wind out of the goblin with a satisfying *crunch* ceasing the screaming. "Ribs have to be broken, should be enough". It wasn't.

Momments later the goblin latches onto Eli's calf tearing into flesh with jagged teeth so horrible no dentist could solve. Gasping at the sudden pain anger flairs in Eli and with a rough grunt grabs the Goblin by the back of the kneck and rips it off, causing more damage but atleast he's free. The goblin now in hand, screams and flails around swinging to rip and tear. With a quick step back releases the creature creating distance and he naturally lowers his body falling into the stance his dad had taught him as a child he throws a left jab to obscure his opponents vision and a with a whistle and a pop Eli's right hand has already flew through the air crushing the victims windpipe ceasing the existance of his enemy. Finally, he can relax.

With a huff Eli hobbles to the side of a wall not covered in fecal matter and goblin blood, slumping down against the wall he rests his head aginst the rugged stone "time to see the gains from killing these ugly bastards" Eli spits with venom finishing with lingering fury at being mauled by an angry goblin, maybe he'd see the funny side in a couple years, if he makes it that long.

Tugging on the pressure emmitting at the back of his head a few screens popped into existance.

Pleased with the results of the fight but not quite understanding everything he got Eli sighs exasperated by the events that had unfloded. deciding to add his gains and investigate this 'system' more after a brief rest, after all in a brief period of time Eli had fell through a building and fought to the death with two unknown creature for what seems to be an increase in numbers on a screen that for all he knows could be in his head "Damn this is gonna take some getting used to".
