Xander and Willow, having followed Giles to the funeral home, ran back to The Bronze to get Buffy. When they found her, she was trying to navigate a dance floor filled with potential obstacles, including Cordelia and Angel.
"Buffy!" Xander shouted over the music, grabbing her arm. "We need to go. Now!"
Buffy looked at him, confused. "What's going on?"
Willow, breathless from running, quickly explained. "Giles and Cyrus are trapped at the funeral home. We need to help them."
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Buffy followed them out of The Bronze. They arrived at the funeral home just in time to see the vampires preparing to transfer Borba, who had risen as a vampire, to another location.
Cyrus and Giles were relieved to see Buffy, Xander, and Willow burst into the room. Buffy immediately engaged Borba in a fierce battle, while Cyrus and Giles dealt with the remaining vampires.
Owen, who had tagged along despite Buffy's attempts to leave him behind, watched in shock as the fight unfolded. When Borba knocked Owen unconscious, Buffy's rage intensified. She fought with renewed vigor, eventually sliding Borba into the burning furnace and destroying him.

With the immediate threat neutralized, they quickly checked on Owen. He was alive but dazed, clearly not understanding the full scope of what had happened. Buffy knew then that she couldn't continue a relationship with him; it was too dangerous.
The next morning, Owen was excited about their adventure and wanted more. He told Buffy that what he liked about her was the excitement and danger. Realizing that this thrill-seeking attitude could get him killed, Buffy broke up with him, her heart heavy with the weight of her decision.
Giles tried to comfort her by sharing his own story. He explained how, as a ten-year-old, he had learned his destiny was to be a Watcher, even though he had other dreams. Both agreed that at least the threat of the Anointed One was over, or so they thought.
Deep underground, the Master welcomed the real Anointed One—the young boy from the van—into his fold. The prophecy had been fulfilled, and the Master's plans were now one step closer to fruition.
Back at Sunnydale High, the atmosphere was tense as the group reconvened in the library. They knew that while they had dealt with the immediate threat, a greater danger was still looming.
Giles addressed the group, his expression serious. "We must remain vigilant. The Anointed One is out there, and we must be prepared for whatever comes next."
Buffy nodded, her resolve firm. "We'll be ready. Whatever it takes."
As the group disbanded, each lost in their own thoughts, Cyrus couldn't help but feel a sense of unity. They had faced another crisis and come through stronger. The battle was far from over, but they were ready for whatever lay ahead.
