First, I would like to apologize on the radio silence regarding this fiction and the state of it. I want to preface this by saying, the fiction is probably dropped for a lot of reasons, mainly regarding the LitRPG System, though I will try to rewrite it in the future. That said these are just my muses and do not represent any form of resentment against anyone.
There are a few things I've come to learn, but it's mostly just the way readers digest information? I am unsure, but a lot of the world building is spent on lies and things that still need to be committed to truth, yet people just assume it must be the truth, so the fiction got a lot of fire for it. Then there is also the issue of the fact that I tried to force a plot that simply doesn't work for normal progression fantasy onto progression fantasy. I understand the downfalls of the world and the "grimdark" of it. Though it was supposed to be an underdog story.
I was aware of all the issues before even posting it, but this just confirmed everything pretty much. The fiction needs a rewrite in a ton of aspects. One of the main reasons I don't want to write it anymore is because of the LitRPG system. It is a pain in the ass. It's so complex and hard to deal with while writing that simply it's not worth the effort for me to call it a passion project or anything of the sorts. I understand the issues that come with the fic, but at the same time it's discouraging when a big part of the fiction in itself is the scarcity of information at all, and yet anything said seems to stand as truth in the eyes of the readers. I never considered this and got quite the review for it.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
A big part of the plot is: What happens if a Dungeon becomes emotional? It was the climax of volume 1, and it's not pretty.
Though needless to say it's not death. It just rubs me the wrong way I suppose.
I don't disagree with a lot of the criticism of this fiction. Being entirely honest, regardless of reviews, I simply did not enjoy writing it due to the LitRPG, I found it insufferable to do so much math only for a few coming "cool" moments of conditional power. I simply feel like that was a mistake. This fiction is a rewrite of a 2 year old work of mine, and it tried to adhere way too hard to the original outline so it ended up with a lot of forced resets inside the fiction.
The plot of the first book is mostly how the main character - Leah - is absolutely powerless in front of the plots of the world, and the types of things that the people in the world want and strive for. If I had to describe it; the entire town is easily a lvl 50 area in an rpg while Leah is lvl 10. Well I am just saying pointless things at this point. The fiction will get a rewrite at some point though it might not even be close to the same fiction.
Regardless of criticism or not, I just don't enjoy writing the LitRPG elements, to the point the entire writing process is grueling and tedious.
With that said, I have finished the first book of a different fiction, so I hope this shows I can commit to something. With all that in mind, I released a new fiction, and this time around there is a ton of chapters in backlog unlike this one that only had 10 chapters and 0 backlog.
I encourage everyone to check it out if you enjoy LitRPG apocalypse stories.
