“They should be home any day now” Said Morrie.
I know they will…
She was sharpening her throwing knives.
She looked at the board and tossed another knife striking the back end of her first knife.
“I'll find them some day”
She walked to her room after another hour of practice and looked at the pictures of her father's and brother. She still remembered asking the offices where her dads were. They had not come home for her birthday. She remembered standing at their funeral thinking “They aren't dead, just lost, they will feel sad if I'm not home when they get back. Why are the soldiers crying?”.
“Their just lost” She had called out.
She had walked over to the empty coffin and said “See! My daddies are just lost”.
She felt the loss of her brother a bit harder. He had recorded himself reading books so she could always hear him read a bedtime story.
“He just needs a little more time to get home” She told herself.
She walked to her bed and looked at the object Lucius had given her.
“What is it” Said asked herself.
He had told her it was an interesting toy but she had yet to see it do anything interesting.
She walked to the closet and removed her dress. She walked through the plan in her head. She was going to walk right up to Lucius and tell him. She knew if she didn't that girl Allison would. She got the long sleeve sweater Lucius had gotten her. It was just perfect for her. It only covered one of her shoulders at a time but she loved it. She knew she loved him and intended to tell him. She didn't care what he said unless it was ‘I love you’. She was going to kiss him right on the lips tomorrow after the party. She looked at the mirror and admired just how perfectly the sweater fit her.
Maybe I'll just wear this tomorrow
She felt like it could be the perfect story to tell their kids one day. Meeting at a library and becoming friends. Then promising to walk together every day they could.
“It would be cute” Said Morrie mid pushup.
She finished her daily exercise and washed the sweater. She wanted to keep it till they had kids. She would wrap their first born in it and give the baby all the love in the world. She blushed knowing what it took to make a baby. Hex had told Lucius babies were made by looking at people in a certain way. She added that he could try and get her pregnant as much as he wanted. He avoided looking at anyone after the rehearsal. It seemed like he really didn't know how babies were made.
Hmmm I’ll make some soup
Half an hour later she was tasting her creation.
More salt
She stayed up well into the night repeating her daily exercise routine. She heard a tapping at the window. She walked over through the darkness and found Lucius. She could only see those eyes. His unholy eyes. She felt frozen by fear. His hand reached out and tapped the glass. Her heart skipped a beat. His eyes seemed to intensify as she stood for a unknown amount of time. They seemed to emit light as the ate her bravery.
“Morrie” Said Lucius.
“Oh hey” Said Morrie.
She felt joy once he spoke. She knew it was him not a beast.
“Mind joining me on a little adventure?” Said Lucius.
“What kind of adventure?” Asked Morrie helping him through the window.
“Well I wanted to show you what I am making for my sister. I wanted an outside opinion on it” Said Lucius.
Does that mean he really cares about what I think?
“That sounds fine. So where are we going?” Asked Morrie.
“My bedroom”
Morrie knew she was blushing. She knew what kind of things happened in bedrooms.
“What are we going to do their?” Asked Morrie.
“Something I know you will like”
She took his hand and walked out of the house.
This is Lucius I'm thinking about, it's not like he's thinking about anything lewd.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
“We have to be very quiet, I don't want Athena or Evelynn thinking I'm up to no good. They thought me and Raven were trying to make babies last week” Said Lucius.
“Why not do some naughty things?” Asked Morrie in her sleepy voice.
“I don't want to disappoint them” Said Lucius.
Morrie kissed his cheek and said “That's so sweet of you”.
They held hands as they walked into the house. They walked into his dark room.
“Lucius I'm cold” Havana was in his bed with all the blankets forced into a corner.
“Why is she in your bed!” Said Morrie a bit louder than she expected.
You, you cheating jerk! How could you!!
“We sleep together most nights” Said Lucius.
“We cuddle” Said Havana.
“She insists on it and says it helps build a strong bond” Said Lucius.
“Are you jealous?” Asked Havana.
“No!”
“Good I didn't want to think I was intruding on your relationship. But it seems like you don't like him so we will just stick to our usual routine” Said Havana.
She winked at Lucius and blew a kiss.
“Let's go” Said Lucius.
Morrie didn't see what happened next. She just knew she was in a place beyond her wildest dreams.
“What is this place?!” Said Morrie.
She felt dizzy looking down the several hundred mile drop. They stood on the balcony of a tower spanning hundreds of miles in all directions. Entire ecosystems lived within each room of the tower.
“Take my hand” Said Lucius.
She was wonderstruck by the sky with five moons, each a different color. She looked at the flying continents and rivers in the sky. She took his hand.
“Just breath I know it must be a lot to take in” Said Lucius.
“You don't say” Said Morrie.
She had long since forgotten why she was here.
“Stand here” Said Lucius.
The markings on the ground seemed to glow. They arrived in a new location. A statue of what seemed to be Atlas the Titan, he held a world sized mound of black stone.
“How did you make all this?” Asked Morrie.
“I had a few tools and lots of time”
She was taking in this new place. Several statutes that seemed to be thousand of miles away loomed over them. Their size was not lost in distance but only helped to show their all encumbering mass. What looked like a mountain range nipped at the bottom of their feet. She began to understand what the true size of the statues were once she saw the trees.
“I made this for Athena, do you this she’ll like it?” Asked Lucius.
“I think she will love it!”
She had kept her sleepy tone through the entire ride so far.
“Really?” Replied Lucius.
“Yes” Said Morrie looking at the trees.
Thousands of feet tall and still nothing more than a dot at the feet of the statues. She was unable to make herself grasp just how massive the statues were.
“The real present is over their” Said Lucius pointing at something in the opposite direction of the other statutes.
It looked just like Athena. It seemed to be holding a massive sphere but it was hard to tell what it was because of the distance fog. The clouds seemed to be just at its knees.
“You made all this for her?” Asked Morrie.
“Yes, but I wanted to show you the inside of the structure to get your opinion” Said Lucius.
They appeared in a new place. A garden of Eden. It seemed impossible. The world sized sphere had surrounded them. It was as if someone had turned a world inside out and covered it in green. A small star floated in the center of the hollow sphere.
“I learned how to manipulate gravity and this was the result” Said Lucius.
She realized he was far smarter than he let on.
“How did you learn to do this?” Asked Morrie.
What are you
“My mom gave me a few notes to read, she told be I can read the more advanced stuff when I’m older” Said Lucius.
Who are you
He had finished the first twenty pages of the book during the time he was trapped. But he still lacked a complete understanding.
“What are you?” Asked Morrie.
Morrie didn't understand the situation but hoped if he tried to explain her mind may be able to grasp it.
“I don't really know” Said Lucius.
“How does your mom know all this?” Asked Morrie.
“Well she has been around a long time and during that time she has learned a few things. It's kinda her business to know everything” Said Lucius.
“How old is she?” Asked Morrie.
She felt the need to know what Lucius and his family were like.
“Well it's this crazy big number. I don't really know.” Said Lucius.
Wow, he didn't have a cold response for once. He almost sounded normal.
“Is Levy like you?” Asked Morrie.
“Well she is but has more power that she knows what to do with, My mom had to place a Lord seal or two on her to keep her from tearing this world apart. She placed one on me as well but for different reasons” Said Lucius.
“What's a Lord seal?” Asked Morrie feeling one of the flowers near by.
“It's something used to restrain powerful things” Said Lucius.
“Thanks for bringing me here” Said Morrie.
She tugged at her sweater and felt like it may not be necessary to wait.
She hugged Lucius and he held her as well.
“You're warm” Said Lucius.
She felt happy with him. She wanted to tell him just how much he meant to her but she lacked the words to do so.
“You're so nice” Said Morrie.
“I'm not, you don't…” He stopped, his voice seemed slightly emotional.
Morrie waited for the response but nothing came out.
“What's wrong?” Asked Morrie.
“I'm sorry, please forgive me” Said Lucius.
She felt cold when his dead hellish eyes meet with hers. She woke up feeling groggy. She tried to remember the dream but all she could see was the eyes of a monster. She showered, brushed her teeth, and walked to the library.
“Hey” Said Morrie.
Lucius was standing beside someone tall. She felt rage and ran up to him. She felt her fist hit his face full force. The person stumbled and took a few seconds to recover.
