Prologue (Part 2) – The Voice

Death came faster than I thought was possible. There was no pain, no replay of my life’s memories just... darkness.

However while feeling the endless darkness rapidly pulling me away a bright light suddenly appeared. The light illuminated the darkness and penetrated deep into my soul. When my body or soul or whatever touched the light a fog I didn’t know was there seemed to have been cleared, no longer clouding my mind. Memories of my childhood, my parents, my friends and the mysterious crystal all came rushing back to me and I realised that if it wasn’t for the light I would have forgotten everything!

Fear.

A soul-shivering fear invaded my mind and I immediately took comfort inside the light. Looking around I noticed that the darkness was still there outside the sanctuary formed by the light, unceasingly trying to reclaim the space which was taken from it. Further away into the darkness I saw three orbs of light similar to mine. Seeing the familiar light I Immediately realised what they were.

‘No way? Jack, Sophie, Raynes? They didn’t make it?! How is that poss...’

“Mortals listen closely. Time has a beginning and so it will have an end, yet Fate is everlasting. However it was not Fate which led you to Our soul piece. We are an abomination in the eyes of Heaven and Our Time has come to an end. But before We depart We will bestow you four mortals with what is left of Our power and You will end what We have started.”

An ancient voice neither male or female interrupted my thoughts while echoing throughout the world of darkness. When it spoke the darkness stopped trying to invade the sanctuary, seemingly afraid of opposing the unknown voice. The panic and fear from earlier had also disappeared and in my mind the words of the voice continued to echo.

From the darkness a new light was born glistening with all the worlds colours. The colourful light continued to grow until it looked like a sun of billions of colours. The space in which the darkness filled started forming ripples creating a chaotic scene. However whenever a ripple touched the sanctuary of light it would immediately disappear.

The gigantic sun swirling with colours started shaking and before long it split into four smaller suns. The four smaller suns were however no longer a mix of colours like the one from before, instead they were coloured Gold, Grey, White and Black respectively.

The golden sun was the first to start moving. Like lightning it shot towards one of the sanctuaries. I didn’t even see what happened when they collided but when I turned my attention to the sanctuary it had already transformed into a golden orb many times smaller than the golden sun.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

The white sun was the second to start moving. Like the golden sun it also shot towards one of the sanctuaries before it quickly transformed into a white orb resembling a golf ball.

The black sun... or maybe more correctly black hole was the third to move. It didn’t move like the two suns before it and instead it ‘devoured’ its way towards the last remaining sanctuary except mine. When the black hole collided with the sanctuary it didn’t even have to transform as it immediately turned into a pitch black orb.

The grey sun was the last to move. However even though I say ‘move’ I didn’t see it. One second it was there, the next second I was howling in pain.

The pain continued for what seemed like an eternity, it felt like something was breaking down my mind and soul only to reconstruct it again. The process of breaking down and reconstructing continued on endlessly.

When I woke up the sanctuary of light around me was gone. The darkness was still there yet it was no longer trying to pull me away and when trying to recall my memories I immediately remembered. Looking around I could see a golden and a white dot far away into the darkness, as for the third black dot? I couldn’t see it. Just when I was about to move however the voice from earlier came back.

“You four are the inheritors of Our comprehension of the laws of Fate, Time, Life and Death. These four are the laws in which We pride Ourselves the most in. However You must remember that true comprehension can only be done on your own, We can only give You guidelines... Now before those bastard pretending to be Rulers of Heaven comes We will use Our remaining power to reincarnate you four into the Primal World. Our request to you is to do what We were unable to do... BRING HELL TO THE HEAVENS! HAHAHAHAHA”

Immediately after the voice finished speaking space started warping and twisting around us. After taking a last look towards the dots which can only be my friends I smiled in relief.

‘At least we’ll live...’

“MICHAEL, RAYNES, SOPHIE WE MUST FIND EACH OTHER AGAIN AT THE PLACE CALLED THE PRIMAL WORLD! AHAHAHAHAH THIS IS AWESOME!!!”

Is the last thing I hear before everything goes dark.
