ch 23. Light behind the Dark

Timothy stays around the destroyed village to help as much as he can. Every time the warrior finds something, be it a sign of human survivor or victims, Timothy will be the first one to be there to help despite his wounded body. The warrior team leader must forcefully put Timothy down to rest before he finally gives up and rests his body.

Timothy is also being questioned by the warrior Second Class, a man who is responsible for this mission. He asked about who gave Timothy the mission, what he rode to go there, who drove him there, and many more. The Second Class took special time to question Timothy about the one that sent Timothy to the rhino. Timothy can only say that he didn't really remember who sent him except that it was a woman. The battle field is in chaos when Timothy arrives and he is in the middle helping warriors around.

The Second Class wrote down all Timothy's answers and told him to take a rest, at least until his body healed. Timothy accepts his command because he is the Second Class, second highest rank among the common warrior. Timothy is still a trainee, the lowest ranked warrior rank below the Fifth Rank, the first rank any new official warrior will get.

Timothy accepts some food and water from a nearby warrior that was responsible for food. After he finished his food, Timothy went to the warrior barrack and took one of the beds for him to sleep.

Timothy wakes up five hours later, when the sun was on the horizon and about to set.

Once again, Timothy helped to clean the village, to the point of going on a solo search for the dangerously stacked debris of a burnt house. Timothy helped until the late of night and only went to sleep far late at night.

When the morning come, Timothy and all the warriors were lined up outside the destroyed village. The Second Class said his apology to the village survivors and promised to return to give them the resources needed to rebuild the village, if they ever so wished about it. The villager kindly accepted the offer and bid them farewell.

The Second Class also leaves a five Fourth Class and fifty Fifth Class to help around and protect the villagers from any random Magic Beast. On the way to their vehicle, Timothy is taken by the Second Class to ride beside him.

"sir, what do you think? I can just leave sir." Timothy asked.

"are you asking me or telling me, trainee?" asked the Second Class confused.

"sorry sir, speaking difficulty." Timothy said again, afraid of offending the Second Class.

"are you the Brightblade Crown Prince?"

"yes, sir." Timothy answered in short.

"ah, I understand then. No worries, trainee.

Talk to me however you like, as long as we are not in an urgent situation." the Second Class said lightly.

"yes, sir. now I have the right to know why you took me here, right?" said Timothy happily.

"too friendly, trainee.

I take you with me because the one that sends you to the rhino might do something else knowing that you survived." explain the Second Class.

"we have not identified who sent you there. Until we do that, you must be patient and only do some simple tasks. one with a lower level of danger."

"but I want to smash you down fast!"

"too rude this time, trainee. I understand why you get into duels so much.

You can still get stronger by training.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Oh talked about training, I have something in mind. Do you want to hear it?"

Timothy can guess the content of the offer. It must be related to training. Timothy already had a master, who had trained him since he was a child and it is not wise to have another become his master unless his current master cannot teach anymore. Timothy begins to get worried, but it looks like the Second Class could read his mind, because he answers with such ease.

"don't be that tense, trainee.

I just offer you a training that is only done by those on the Fifth Rank and above.

I heard about your talent and skills a while ago and want to help you with training.

but apparently you already have a teacher, which means I doesn't to teach you." said the Second Class

"sorry, sir." Timothy can only say that shortly.

"no problem, trainee.

Someone at your social position is supposed to have one already."

"you want to teach me anything or what?" asked Timothy curiously.

"rude again, trainee.

I guess you want to know what I want to teach you.

It was supposed to be a secret, but I will tell you. Just remember that I am the one who will make you learn about it early, when you become Family Head in the future." the Second Class said teasingly.

"I want to teach you about magic.

not the one that Soul Weapon can produce. The mage type Soul Weapon do have magic, but what I want to teach is something different.

It is your innate magic. one that comes from your soul. the same one that created the Soul Weapon."

Timothy is surprised. He know, just like everyone else, that to be able to summon your Soul Weapon, you need to do a certain technique that pulls something from your soul to create the Soul Weapon. This technique is already sold publicly at a controlled price to prevent any irresponsible people having free weapon. What Timothy didn't know is that the Soul Weapon is made of magic, and that magic comes from people themself.

"that is secret information, only allowed on Fifth Rank and above, so you better keep your mouth zipped and only tell those you trust, that will not cause any problems. to you and to me." said Second Class.

"yes, Sir."

For the rest of the ride, until they arrived at Jakurtan, Timothy decided to remain silent. He think, with all his connections and everything, he already knew most of the secrets in the city. turns out, there is something more that he didn't know that belongs only to the warrior. What other secret exist out there then? Maybe the politician or the office worker both have their secret techniques and belong to their own career or faction.

Timothy is once again sitting in the committee hall, this time with the Second Class beside him, who explained everything to the committee including why he failed his mission and the village is now destroyed. The Second Class twisted the story a little by saying that Timothy arrived on time but the situation was already dire. The huge explosion, the result of the King Ape Magic Beast who exploded itself, is reason they lost the village.

The committee is forced to accept the result, since the Second Class put himself to protect Timothy. Of course, the committee position is higher, but they are not the ones on the field. They can only receive the report and judge based on it. In the end, Timothy is free to go with only a warning and a six month suspension for re-training. Timothy will start his training again from the very beginning as if he is a new cadet.

When they leave the committee hall, Timothy thanks the Second Class repeatedly, promising to repay the kindness in the future, which the Second Class didn't hesitate to accept. It makes Timothy feel a bit of regret, but he let it slide this time.

Timothy and the Second Class go to their separate ways after that, going back to their own task. As for Timothy, he has to prepare for his training again tomorrow. Since the day was still quite early, Timothy decided to call his father, and maybe ask about the magic Second Class talking about.

Timothy took his phone and played with it while he walked back to his room. The trainee room is empty at this time as all the trainees are supposed to be leaving on a mission. When Timothy enters the trainee room, he finds that among the row of bunk beds there are a few other trainees who are busy with their own activities.

"not everyone leaving on a mission. hmm."

Timothy decided to find another empty place and found one behind the food canteen. The place is deserted at that hour as lunch is already over and dinner is still hours away. Timothy goes around the canteen and makes sure the place was empty before he makes the call. His father soon picked up the call and Timothy quickly asked about magic.

"hello, Father. can I ask you something?"

"hello Timothy! What's so the hurry? ask about me first before anything else, I am your dad!"

"father, I am told about a secret training and wish to know about it.

Since it is a secret that only Fifth Rank and above are allowed to know, I want to avoid my fellow trainees overhearing us. Sorry father."

"ah that. That is no secret boy. hahaha!

The school exempts it from your education because it is dangerous, of course, but magic is a difficult thing to learn anyway, so just knowing it is fine." said Arthur with ease.

"ah.. then, can I learn it now father?

Maybe you can teach me?" Timothy asked.

"oh sure! I can teach you. That is an easy thing for me!"

"great, can you tell me now?" Timothy became excited.

"sure, I'll just stab you in the chest with my Soul Weapon till you die." said Arthur, suddenly becoming serious.

"WHAT?"
