ch 2. Kind Hearted but Wrong-Mouthed

Dragon Soul Special School is a special school meant for the children of nobles and the most talented of any kind. if you are not a noble but wish to have the best education chance, be the genius among the genius. if you are noble but not special in any way, you can still come with your noble parent's money.

the competition in the Dragon Soul Special School is very cruel and sometimes deadly. especially since you will only be there for about a year or two before you will be sent to the world to deal with the most troublesome and difficult task.

the school has every kind of troublesome people. from the arrogant young master, hard-headed nobles, vengeful rich kid, and any sort of troublemaker you can list. but the school also has a list of good things and one of them is joining the school right now.

Timothy Brightblade is one of them. he is deemed as the kindest crown prince who ever lived. he loves to help the poor, he forgives those who talk bad about him, and he lets go of any small mistake that he deems as non-lethal. as long as everything can remain peaceful, Timothy will do everything he can to keep it that way.

today is the day for the school ceremony. the ceremony is held inside the Grand Ceremony Hall where the pictures of great teachers and heroes are hung as a remembrance. the ceremony is made to honor the spirit of the warriors who died protecting the city from outside attack.

today is also the time of the year when the Dragon Soul Special School welcomes new students to join their ranks. new kids from many backgrounds, be they geniuses or nobles, are gathered to honor their predecessors and to honor their place in the Special School

after the long boring speech and the ceremony is over. All the new students are asked to remain in the ceremony hall. there are about sixty new students in this batch, with noble children filling about twenty seats and the other forty is filled by the genius from many school around the city.

among the twenty noble children, Timothy sits alone in the front seat. nobody seat on both of his sides and behind him. even worse no one dares to sit in the same line and two lines behind Timothy. Timothy believes that they already heard about him being the kind one among his brothers and sisters, but it seems like rumors alone will not guarantee social friends. even in the most prestigious and wonderful school in the city.

then a boy of his age suddenly stands up and walks to Timothy. Timothy can hear his step echo across the hall and really wish to befriend the boy. when the boy arrived beside him, Timothy quickly stood up and offered his hand for a handshake, ready to introduce himself. but the boy already talking loudly even before Timothy say a word.

"I know that you are Timothy Brightblade, the eldest and said to be the kindest of the ruler family.

my name is Harold Smithson and I want you to know that even if you are practically a crowned heir, I only see you as a naive young master and nothing more."

Timothy is surprised, but he doesn't see the words as harsh or anything. he knows the boy trying to put him down from his prestigious position, but Timothy doesn't stay as the crown prince just by forgiving and smiling. on the other hand, Timothy still wanted Harold as his friend and so he also decided to speak.

"Hello Harold, thank you for letting me know about your intention and please be assured that I see you the same."

Timothy is happy. no, he is overjoyed!

he already told Harold that he accepted Harold's harsh words but still saw him as equal. Timothy will not use his privileged position to put down people who talk their minds. Timothy tries to show him that he is a grown man and ready to befriend anyone equally.

unfortunately, Harold didn't get what Timothy meant to say. instead, what he heard was a counter-insult that said Timothy also thinks Harold was naive. at the same time, since the one saying it is Timothy who was the crown prince of the city, that means his words mean a lot more than Harold's.

"you know nothing about me, Foolish Prince!"

with a stomp on his feet, Harold walks back to his previous seat with anger on his face. he tried to take down the famous prince but what he got was humiliation. meanwhile, Timothy also showed a confused face. with innocence on his face, he tried to call Harold back.

"wait, Harold!

I didn't mean it that way. of course, I didn't know you!

how could I, right?" Timothy said while looking around.

as if throwing burning oil on the already burning city, Timothy had to quickly move aside as a pair of throwing daggers quickly flew to his position. the flying dagger was Harold's Soul Weapon and he threw it intending to hurt Timothy.

"SHUT YOUR FU-HMMMMMMBBHHHH!!!!!"

as Harold is about to throw an insult at Timothy, a friend of his quickly covers his mouth and disables him from saying another word. Despite his kind and forgiving nature, Timothy is still a crown prince and Harold's anger is not a good enough reason for him to make his noble family punished by death. unfortunately, Harold is in no condition to see that so his friend helps him by shutting his mouth and dragging him further back on the lines.

Timothy somehow knows that his words are received in the wrong way. he tried to say something else, maybe try to fix the situation. but suddenly a teacher shows up from behind Timothy.

"that is enough, Young Master Timothy.

I understand what you are trying to do but two times didn't make the third better."

Timothy looks at the female teacher and nods in resignation. once again, like every time for the sixteen years of his life, he failed to make friends. the female teacher looks at Timothy with pity in her eyes but then focuses her mind on the other kid in the hall.

"My name is Teacher Morgana Lashem. I will be your representative for the next two years of your stay with us, the Dragon Soul Special School.

in a while, I will escort you to your dorm room then you can spend the rest of your first day wandering around the school on your own.

did you all understand, up to this point?"

as Teacher Morgana looked around the new kids, everyone quickly nodded. some look like they are about to ask something but their friends shut their mouths before any voice ever produced. this somehow made Teacher Morgana smile and so she continued her speech.

"I guess my reputation precedes me. yes dear child, I will lash you out with my Whip Soul Weapon if you ever take more than three second to understand what I said.

and to entertain our dear, kind-hearted prince. no, my lash will not kill anyone. but it will be painful beyond anything you ever felt before.

now, stand up and follow me. I will take you to your room."

Teacher Morgana slowly walks to the exit door and all the kids quickly form a line and follow the teacher. everyone here knows about Morgana Lashem, widely known as Morgana Whip Devil, who loves to punish her students with the painful lash of whips. she is also a war hero, as her whip manages to "re-discipline" the enemy's troops and make them her "loyal" warrior.

the rest of the journey is less eventful, as after Teacher Morgana brings them to their Dorm Building, the kids are free to choose their rooms. her only note is that their room is their responsibility. Whatever happened in there, is their own problem.

Timothy chose the room closest to the elevator and emergency stairs. he tried to use this room as a trap to increase his chances of meeting and talking with other people. no one challenges him for the room since everyone knows that the room nearest to the elevator and stairs is the most uncomfortable one. that and they didn't dare to fight with a crown prince for just a simple room.

as soon as he enters his new room, Timothy can only sigh once again in resignation. his latest attempt at making friends has failed once more. Timothy thinks it was because of what he said, but everyone else around him back at his castle always thinks his way of talking is normal. no one ever protested about it.

"where did I do wrong?" Timothy said to himself.

with nothing else to do, Timothy decides to take out his phone and begin to browse the latest information about Jakurtan City while he lies on his new simple bed. the days are still long and his only appointment is a lot later in the afternoon with his driver. Timothy keeps reading the latest news until he quickly gets bored and falls asleep.
