All I wanted was a magical wand

All I wanted was a magical wand

Chapter 5: All want was a magical wand!

In a quarter inside a library, a woman can be seen briskly walking through the hallway. She has a long black hair swaying with the wind as she went through the door of a young man’s room.

Ysabele looked at the young man lying on the bed. He looked like he fell asleep while reading as his posture while sleeping is in an awkward position. She walked near the young man’s bed and made a bitter smile while gently sitting next to him.

Ysabele reached out her hand and brushed his hair before saying “I am sorry Deus, I can’t be with you from now on”.

She stared at him for a moment before continuing. “If I can do so I would have stayed with you for as long as I live but fate didn’t want me to do so.”

“If fate wants it, I hope we can see each other again” She said with a voice full of love and care.

She used her hand to touch Deus cheeks and said “You meanie, sleeping so soundly as always. Hmph, Let’s see who will cry so much after finding out that I’m already gone”

Ysabele had a sulky face when she remembered a thing in the past. “Right, all I wanted was a magical wand after all” She jokingly murmured to herself while a scene was playing in her mind.

In the vast blue sky, there is a young woman who was riding a red carpet with a phoenix sigil flying as fast as she can. In front of her is a branch of a mysterious tree emanating a chilling aura. The branch is also flying as fast as it can like it didn’t the girl catching up.

“Damn you old piece of a wood! Don’t you dare run away from me!” The woman said with an irritated look in her face.

The branch sped up some more like it was ridiculing the woman “Who’s the old piece of wood?”

The woman was shocked to see the sudden burst of speed made by the branch and was left behind until the branch was out of her perception. She then made a bitter smile and shook her head before heaving a sigh.

The woman has a long black hair, an oval face with a plump pink lips and a pair of violet eyes can take away any man’s heart. She has a fair skin and slender body that can entice even a monk’s desire.

She was about to leave when she saw a place full of festive and lively environment. “There seems to have something going on in there. Might as well join the liveliness” She said to console herself for being unable to catch the branch.

She flew over an unpopulated place near the festive city not wanting to gather other attention. She then walked her way to the city gate.

There was a long line of people near the city gates. That line is for ordinary people that want to enter the city. It is not prohibited for ordinary person to enter but they needed to pay tax first. She didn’t need to line up and pass through the side gate after using a small scale magic to signify that she is a wiseman.

She went to the central part of the city directly after she heard from the gossiping people why the city was full of hustle and bustle.

“There is still an hour before the event starts, I might as well fill my stomach” She said so after smelling the fragrant smell from the biggest restaurant in the central part of the city.

The restaurant is named Lilac Delis, it is the best Inn inside Genesis city. Lilac Delis is a 3 storey building with the lowest floor being for the middle class people and the second floor for rich and powerful families. The third floor is constructed differently than the other two floors because it was made for VIPs. Everybody knows that Lilac Delis is an untouchable place because it is a side branch of Inns that the Lilac family from the capital of Oasis kingdom.

The young woman in a red robe entered the Inn and was greeted by a servant “Good afternoon Madame! Are you new in here?”

The young woman was confused why she was being asked by a question like that and didn’t answer for a while.

The servant didn’t panic and seems like he knew what is going on so he said “I am the assistant manager of the Inn so I’m more or less familiar with the people that eat here and it is just a coincidence that I was unfamiliar with Madame.”

The woman nodded to say no problem and confirm that it is her first time eating here.

The servant understood what the nod means and continued “Our little Inn has different accommodation based on how much a person will use for a meal or if you are a part of an important family, I saw this Madame was new here and since I didn’t know what family where you from, may I politely ask what floor will you dine?” The servant said so while reaching his hand to give a piece of paper for the information of the difference in prices if you eat in second or first floor.

The young woman looked at the paper for a moment before asking “How about the third floor?”

“It is always reserved for families that have connection with government in the kingdom. There are some exceptions but I don’t have the power to allow this young miss in there.” He said with a smile.

“Okay, I’ll dine in the second floor then” The young woman said unconcerned.

His twitched from the tone used by the young woman but still kept a smile before saying “Okay Madame, follow me.” He then led the way to the second floor.

The young woman spoke before reaching the second floor “I prefer being close to the window if it’s possible.”

The servant didn’t speak and continued to lead the way until they reached a place with a round table for four people to eat. The place is as the woman said, close to a window and to be precise It is in the balcony.

“Is this place alright?” The servant asked.

“Hmm, it is enough. I would like to order your best dish and best wine.” She said while sitting in the left side of the table.

“Yes Madame, it will take quarter an hour to serve.” The servant said before giving a bow and leaving.

The young woman didn’t look at the servant again and stared outside the balcony where people are busy on their own agendas. “I hope the event will be fun to watch.” She said while not hoping much from it. As far a she knew this competition is only in a small city inside a low ranked kingdom.

There was silence for a few second before she heard an old man’s voice “Why not join? It might be more fun that way.”

The young woman stood up and cautioned herself while turning her head from where the voice came from.

“You don’t need to be alert. I meant no harm” He said calmly.

The girl didn’t move for a moment before she sat again with while still ready to fight any moment. She can’t help but be alerted because her perception didn’t detect the old man. Even now that she is aware that the old man is right in front of the table, she won’t know that someone is in there if her eyesight didn’t see the man itself.

“Sorry for the disturbance” The old man sincerely said before asking while holding the chair in the right side. “May I?”

The young woman nodded with her vigilance still high. She asked “How may I help sir? You won’t approach me for nothing right?” Although she knew she can’t defeat the old man in a fight, she had the confidence to escape so she is not afraid but only shocked to see someone so strong in this kind of place.

The old man can’t be help but nod with praise on how the young woman treated the situation. He gave it a thought before saying “Let’s not be in a hurry, we might as well eat first.”

A small bell suddenly appeared I the table then the old man grab it. He shook the bell lightly that produced a tingling sound which lasted for a sec before it disappeared. Moments later, a man donned by a suit came with two servants following him, the assistant manager included.

“So it is Mr. Sigmund…” The man wanted to continue speaking when the old man called Sigmund spoke again. “No need for pleasantries. Serve us all best dishes you have with the wine I used to have.”

“No problem, give me a moment.” He turned back and shouted “Serve the food!” Eight person carrying different dishes came in not even a second after he shouted.

“I hope you enjoy mister!” he bowed down before turning back to leave. The servant gave a bow to before leaving.

The old man didn’t look at them but instead said to the young woman “Let’s eat first!” He didn’t wait for the young woman and started eating already.

The young woman can’t be help but shocked to see how the man in suit treated him. She murmured “That man in suit must be the manager. I guess this old man is from the capital” She stared at the old man first before looking at the food. ‘It doesn’t look that bad’ she thought inwardly.

The two of them started eating leisurely with elegance and nobleness. if other people saw what is happening, they will think “Are they really eating or performing an art?”

When he felt that he had enough food, the old man took his wine glass and poured some wine before sipping a bit. “Hmm, still taste the same. That old man in the capital is still as good as he was many years ago.”

He held the wine again and asked “Want some? This wine will still be treated as luxury back in your place.”

The girl suddenly stopped from eating. She was now a bit scared of this old man. If earlier she felt she can escape, that confidence is waning bit by bit. She was shocked to hear that this old man knows her identity but still approached her like this.

“No need to be afraid, if I wanted to harm then even we’re in front of your father he’ll be powerless to do anything.” The old man said while staring outside the balcony.

He looked at the girl before saying “This wine is very special, think about it. Even your dad might not have a chance to have some, only your mother might be able to but not as much as this bottle.”

The girl stared blankly to the old man before heaving a sign as she muttered inwardly ‘This old even know who my mother is? I guess he doesn’t mean harm then’. She didn’t have any choice but to accept because her mother is a big shot that not many people will want to offend. Her vigilance started to ease and said “Then I will have some.”

The old man smiled and poured wine in her glass before speaking “This wine is made by an expert that not many people knew. This is only available for few people that he has connection with. Even you scare that old man to death, he might not brew one for you”. He paused then said “Try it, don’t drink it all in one gulp or there might be some accidents that will happen.”

The girl nodded and reached her wine glass. To be honest, she can’t wait to taste the wine that this unfathomable old man. The young woman can be said to be a little gourmet. ‘I hope it is as good as this old man say’ she thought to herself.

She sipped a bit from her glass following the instruction of the old man. The young woman had a feeling that she was one with heaven and earth and with one thought she could cleave the ocean in half. That feeling stayed for a few seconds before she felt a warm current flowing inside her body that made her.

The young woman came back to herself and stared at her wine glass. She was shocked to the extreme on the effect from having a small sip.

The old man laugh from seeing her expression and explained “This wine is called Soul Formation wine. It helps a person to connect with the soul of the book you made a connection with. So, tell me, ain’t this wine a luxury even where you came from?”

She looked at the old man without saying anything and looked back at her glass and took a sip again afraid of not being able to finish it in time.

The old man had an amused looked and said jokingly “Won’t you marry my grandson for this good wine?”

The young woman stared at the old man with an incredulous look but can’t help to reconsider and be tempted by that offer.

It was the old man’s turn to be shocked for a moment before laughing. “You little girl, don’t worry, this bottle is yours and don’t need to exchange it for anything.” The old man said with a smile on his face.

The girl blinked her eyes before reaching out her hand and grabbing the bottle. She put it carefully inside her extra-dimension pouch afraid of losing or breaking it. She heaved a sigh of relief after safely keeping the bottle of wine.

The old man made a big smile when he saw what happened. “Okay. I think it’s an ill manner of me not introducing myself.” He paused then looked seriously at the young woman before saying “I am Sigmund Tibular, I live here in Genesis city as a librarian master of Tibular Library. It is but a humble foundational level.”

The woman felt shy for not introducing back so she answered “I am Ysabele Pheonix, I guess you already know all about my information so there is no need to say.” She paused before giving a bow “I’ll have to thank you for the food and wine.”

It was at this moment that she realized something wrong. ‘Foundational level? live here?’ She thought before sitting again and wearing a confused expression.

“There is no need to think hard of it. There are many experts across this land like me. It is actually not that bad living here. I prefer staying here as much as possible if I had a choice” Sigmund explained slowly.

That answer didn’t ease her confusion but she shook her head because she understood that there are things that a junior like her don’t need to know in the meantime. She then remembered something and asked “Senior, may I know why did you come for me? Do I have something that I can help with?” She knew that even though the things she received is nothing before this old man’s eyes, it is the opposite for her.

The old man hesitated and suddenly had an idea to confirm what he wants to know. “Hmm yes, I do have something I want you to do but don’t worry you will not return empty-handed from doing so.”

“Just say what it is and this junior will do her best” She answered sincerely.

The old man smiled “You’ve heard of the event later right? I want you to join in it and win. If you do I have some old wood here that is perfect for scratching your back.”

Ysabele was bewildered by what the old man said because if she joined that event, that will be an utter bullying for the remaining contestant. She was about to say her basis and reject when her eyes went wide after seeing the old wood that the old man was talking about.

“TTh-that was the branch I was catching earlier!” She said with a loud voice.

Realizing how she was acting, Ysabele blushed before calming herself.

“So what, are you joining or not?” Sigmund said

“Of course I will! I just said earlier that I will do my best to be of help to senior” Ysabele said hurriedly while feeling ashamed. ‘Will do my best my ass. I was about to reject earlier. I didn’t think this old man caught that bastard old wood’ She cursed the wood inwardly. ‘This is all for revenge, just wait there you old wood!’

Sigmund had an amused smile looking like he knew what the girl was thinking. “Okay then. You need to be a resident of Genesis city to join so you should use Tibular as your surname when you join.” He said before taking another sip of his wine.

“Yes senior!” Ysabele answered excitedly while imagining how to punish that old wood.

“Let’s finish eating for now. We still have half an hour before the competition start.” Sigmund replied.

They continued eating for a few more minutes before Sigmund rang the bell again to pay for their food. The manager didn’t want to accept it but was forced in the end due to Sigmund’s firmness on wanting to pay.

The old man and the young woman walked side by side until they reached a place called Tibular Library.

“This event is being run by my family every five years to see who has the best talents in the city and recruit them as librarian apprentices to work at the library and in return we allow them to use our resources and books for achieving better heights in enlightenment.” The old man explained.

“After every five years, the recruited librarians can choose to stay or leave to explore and sought for higher level libraries out there.” He paused to greet people they ran into before continuing “It is the same this year and I like you to join that same even.”

“Do have any question?” Sigmund asked.

“How do you test their talents?” Ysabele curiously asked.

Sigmund smiled and looked at the direction of a big book statue in the central part of the library. “You just need to place your hand in that book and it will produce a light. The number of pages that will light up signifies how much kind of enlightenment you have achieved, for example; fire, earth, wind, and etc. The brightness of each page is proportional o how much understanding you had currently in each of those enlightenments.” He slowly explained while walking in the hallway.

Ysabele was shocked because even though their way of testing talent is the place she came from was much better, this kind of testing gives much accurate information that can actually help a person know that he still haven’t reached the limit on different kinds of enlightenment.

“Some says that focusing in one kind is better, I don’t disagree with that but it is not that accurate too because if you want to reach much higher level, you will need to understand many different kinds of enlightenment.” Sigmund explained.

“There is a third function in that book but people in this place usually don’t care about it but it is different for you and many aspiring geniuses out there.” He said in a lecturing tone. “The third function will let you see different shades of colour in each page. Every shade of colour signifies a type of enlightenment. That means, if I have a record of what that colour signifies, I can tell you what kind of enlightenments you currently touched upon but haven’t realized it exists.”

The girl was astonished on what she heard and become excited to join the event.

The old man stopped walking and said with a playful smile “That is why even though you are already a peak-sovereign wiseman, winning is not a guarantee. You’re lucky that my grandson is not joining or you will surely lose” The old man laughed uproariously before looking back “You can go and enlist your name in the participant at the central area, I need to visit my grandson first.”

The girl was shocked to hear the old man’s boasting and put on a sulk before answering “Okay senior, see you later then”. The two of them walked in a different path. Ysabele walked briskly while grumbling to herself “Wait till you see how genius I am old man, let me here you boast about your grandson again then!”

She made her way to the central area which is not as she expected. Even though there are many people watching around the central part there are only a few hundred participants neatly waiting till the event starts.

Tibular Library is only considered as foundational level Library but it is not small at all, if it can be described in words then it is big, really big. It is even as big or bigger that Lilac Delis. They only accommodate the public with foundational level books but in reality, those that are chosen as librarian apprentices is accommodated with noble level books that is one level higher than foundational. Those that are loyal and chose to stay in the Tibular Library after so many years are accommodated with lord level books a level higher than noble level and those that are candidates for librarian master/mistress is given a chance to enlighten with a master level book. The librarian master/mistress can access grandmaster level books.

All of these are privy only to lord level members and above. If other people knew about this, they will be shocked till their eyes balls roll out because even those big families at the capital only have their old ancestors as grandmaster level and master level for the current patriarch. Even the king of the country is only a level above grandmaster which is a sovereign level.

Those that reach peak-grandmaster wiseman, although few, will have to pass down his position as library master/mistress to the one of the current candidates and the other candidate that wasn’t picked as librarian master will be considered as librarian elders which will have half the responsibility inside the library as the other half will be given to the master.

The Ex-librarian master/mistress will then go to the capital and serve under the military of Oasis kingdom as Wilfred’s subordinate. (Deus father, see at chapter1) nobody knows what level Wilfred really is but he is supposed to be one of the strongest sovereign wiseman general of Oasis Kingdom only a bit weaker than the king.

In the central area of Tibular Library, an old man appeared near the statue of a big book with a young boy following next to him.

“Sorry for the wait everyone, I formally start the competition now! I hope everyone be blessed by spirit of the books.” Sigmund said calmly but his voiced echoed inside the library.

“The first stage is as always. There are ten table gathered around the statue, there are librarian apprentices in each table that will test if you are qualified to take the next stage. Begin the testing!” The old man announced while the young boy is hiding on his back seemingly afraid from the crowd’s attention.

The testing started immediately and you can see an excited young men and women lining in front of the ten tables. Ysabele is currently in the middle of on line gathering the attention of many youth.

“Who is that girl? It’s the first time I saw her here in Genesis.” a young man said.

“Yes, me too. She is so pretty.” Another young man murmured

Even some young women can’t help but agree with the boy who spoke.

Ysabele wore a wry smile in her face that made her look much more beautiful before looking at the old man near the statue and murmuring to herself ‘hang in there Ysabele, this is for your revenge!’

The line is quickly shortening as many dejected youth came out from the central area failing to qualify for the next stage.

“Don’t lose hope! Failing once or twice doesn’t mean you will fail forever. The library is always open to anyone who wants to enlighten as long as you follow the rules!” Sigmund cheered up.

The depressed youths came back to themselves and put on a determined face.

“This old man is not so bad after all” Ysabele muttered in her heart.

“Next!” It was finally her turn after waiting for quarter an hour. She put her right hand on top a mirror which produced a light and an illusory book floating in the air. That book looks the same as the statue.

“Ehhh, Pass!” The librarian apprentice said with shock in his written in his eyes. ’It’s my first time seeing this mirror produce a book as clear as this one’ he said internally. It only took a few moments before he remembered his responsibility. “You can wait inside.” He said while pointing at the perimeter near the statue where a few tens of people are waiting. He then shouted “Next!”

Ysabele walked inside the perimeter and thought ‘it was over? I didn’t even know I passed’. She shook her head and said “Well, it’s not my business. Everything is fine as long as I win the first place.”

The first stage was done after another quarter an hour passed. Even though there are few hundreds of people, Sigmund placed ten testing area to see who are qualified so it didn’t took that long.

Looking at those who passed, Sigmund nodded his head in approval. “It seems there are more talented young ones in our city this 5 year cycle, congratulation to all qualifiers!” He paused before continuing “To those who qualified, you can all apply as a trainee librarian apprentice. You will be supervised by a librarian apprentice for two years and if before or at that due time you already reached mid-foundational wiseman, you’ll be able to apply as a librarian apprentice. Good luck everyone! Let the stage two begin.”

“Deus, you are already old enough so you need to interact with people more often, I leave supervising the stage two to you, okay?” Sigmund said to the young man behind him.

Deus glanced at his grandfather before nodding and answering “I will do my best grandpa!”

He walked near the statue wearing a serious face while emanating a haughty aura while mattering to his self ‘I think this is friendly enough’.

“Good day everyone, I am Deus and I’m here to supervise the second stage. First of all, I would like you to form a line according to what level of wiseman you already are and according to what age you are. The young ones in early foundational wiseman will be first and will be followed as to how I said earlier. Do any of you have a question?” He said so in a monotonous voice.

“That young man is so arrogant and very irritating” Ysabele muttered to herself. Many young men and women misunderstood him too.

Nobody answered so Deus said “Since no one has a question let us start. Begin lining up everybody!”

Sigmund sighed and shook his head with a bitter smile ‘This child inherited that irritating traits from his father’.

The youth finished lining up and began appraising their talent one by one.

One particular young man is excitedly looking at the statue confirming that he didn’t see it wrongly.

“23 kinds of enlightenment, 3 are already acquired with one at mid- foundational and two at the early level.” Deus announced. “Pass, you can choose to stay as a librarian apprentice in our library or pick one book of foundational level and join the other family.”

He was not the first one to pass but currently the best of the one who took the exam.

“You can relay your decision later after the examination ends. Next!” Deus said with the same monotonous tone.

The test went on and the may top talent young men and women were discovered. The best talented person was changed for many times till there is only one more participant left.

“It’s your turn young miss” Ysabele came back to her senses when she heard Deus’ voice.

“Yes, sorry for the delay!” She said with an irritated voice.

Deus looked at her with a confused look but in Ysabele’s view it was an arrogant glare. She snorted and continued walking toward the statue. ‘Hmph, just watch there and see how a frog in a well you are’ she said in her mind.

Sigmund can’t help but put an amused smile seeing the two of them act like that. ‘Hmm, I look forward to what will happen after a few years’ He thought while putting a big smile.

Ysabele placed here hand on the statue and closed her eyes. ‘I need to control the energy I put to the foundational level. This sounds like a joke.’

She felt a connection was made to the statue that made her sense being one with heaven and earth. It didn’t take long in the outside but it was like a whole day inside her mind. It was like a wonderful dream before she heard gasping sound made by the crowd.

Deus was a bit shocked too but he recovered quickly because he didn’t that much about enlightenment.

“Ohh my, a genius is born in our city!” an old woman said excitedly.

“This, so many enlightenment, just who is that girl?” a middle aged man muttered in a loud voice.

Ysabele opened her eyes to take a look in how her talent was appraised. She saw many pages lit up in different colours. Over fifty pages are lit up brightly signifying that they are at peak foundational level. Some pages have late, mid and early stages but there are also some that has a colour but not lit up. “I didn’t think that I still had some enlightenment that is still in foundational level, this is embarrassing” She whispered to herself before looking at the few pages that remains unlit but have a colour. ‘I wonder what kind of enlightenment this is.’

“129 pages has a colour, 83 is at peak-foundational, 17 at late foundational, 15 at mid foundational, and 5 at the early foundational level. There are also 10 unlit colours that means you had touched upon an enlightenment but haven’t realized what are those yet.” He said in the same monotonous voice.

“The Event is over, I ask that all those that passed stay here and all those that failed the stage two but passed the first one go to their respective tester in first stage and apply being a trainee if you want to.” He announced to the crowd.

When people started subsiding and only those who passed the second stage are left, he looked over them before saying “Follow me to get your prizes”

He led them to his grandfather. “Not bad Deus, I’ll take it from here.” Sigmund said before walking forward facing the young men and women who passed the second stage.

“First of all, I would like to ask who among you will stay and work as an apprentice in our library? Those that choose to stay can go in that hallway. An elder will guide you on what to do.” Sigmund announced.

After he spoke, many youth excitedly walked over the hallway and only a few were left behind.

“I know you guys are from a big family so say the name of the book that you want one by one” Sigmund said.

After awarding the few youth left, only Sigmund, Ysabele and Deus was left.

“Grandfather there is still this woman here that you forgot to give a prize.” Deus said in a low voice.

His grandfather chuckled and looked at her before saying “Hmm, perfect, I finally found someone to be a new librarian master.” He smiled before answering Deus “You young man, when did I teach you to be disrespectful.”

He looked over Ysabele and said “Sorry Ysabele, I haven’t introduced you to your nephew so he didn’t know who you are. My oh my, it was my fault.”

Deus was shocked to hear what his grandfather said and realized how disrespectful he was to his aunt.

Ysabele acted proudly at first hearing the old man apologize but was startled when she heard the full sentence. She was about to retort ‘when did I become your daughter?’ when she heard Deus voice.

“I’m sorry Aunt Ysabele for being disrespectful!” He said sincerely in a low voice while bowing his head.

Ysabele froze from being called ‘Aunt’ and was about to curse Deus when Sigmund spoke. “Good, you can back to your room for now. I still have something to talk with your aunt.”

“Yes grandpa. See you later!” He hesitated first before saying goodbye to Ysabele too.

Ysabele didn’t have time to speak before he was gone and can only stare at the place where he disappeared from. She burst from her anger and glared at Sigmund.

“What’s the meaning of this senior? When did I become your daughter?” she said while trembling, calming herself down.

Sigmund chuckled and said “Check your soul energy first”

She did as Sigmund said and was shocked to see a seal with a branding that looks like Sigmund. “YYy-you, what did you do to me!”

“Don’t panic. It is nothing lethal. It will only prevent you from going out of this city and being detected by some else.” He paused before continuing “Don’t worry, I won’t harm and will also reward you highly for the things you’ll do for me.”

Ysabele was confused and asked. “What do you want me to do? Why do you need to seal me?”

The old man smiled at her before answering “I don’t have enough time anymore, I might disappear in any moment now so I need someone to look out for Deus.” He took out a piece of wood and threw it at her. “Sorry for trapping you here but I had no other choice.”

Ysabele caught the piece of a wood. I didn’t look like the way it was before. It is now prettily crafter into a magical wand. She didn’t have enough time to check and asked the old man “Me to look out for your grandson? Are you joking?”

She tried to confirm that he was joking but he wore a serious face and didn’t say anything. She wanted to cry but tears won’t come out.

“It is only for 5 years. After that, the seal will automatically be removed and you can do as you please.” he explained

Ysabele still can’t believe what was happening and took a moment to reply “Aren’t you afraid that I’ll do something bad to Deus?” She tried to look malicious while saying it but only made her even cuter.

“Will I do all of this if I didn’t know you won’t?” Sigmund confidently answered.

She was stumped and didn’t know what to say. Moments later she asked helplessly “Why me? Where are his mother and father? Can it be that he only has you?”

Sigmund made a bitter smile and answered “Well you’re not wrong in that. His mother died before he turned 1 year old and that made his father down and since then he thought that he is not worthy to be his father so he left after his first birthday.” Sigmund paused before continuing “I didn’t want to leave him alone but I have no choice. This corporeal body of mine will soon disappear and I can’t send another one anytime soon.”

It was Ysabele’s turn to turn quiet and feel sorry for adding salt on a healing wound. She heaved a sigh and asked “What do I need to do for him?”

Sigmund was surprised to see how fast she accepted it and gave her a sincere smile before answering “You don’t need to do anything. You just need to guide him of what is wrong and right and protect him in case there is any danger that will happen.”

Ysabele nodded her head and finished calming herself. Even though she didn’t want to do it, she had no other choice but to accept because it is already happening. Then she suddenly remembered how haughty and arrogant that boy is. “I need to teach an arrogant boy like him right manners? won’t this be too hard?” She blurted out unconsciously.

Sigmund chuckled and answered “Well, he looks like that but to tell you the truth, Deus is trying hard to look as friendly as possible. It is not because he is arrogant or something. He only didn’t know how to do it correctly and unconsciously make that kind of face.”

Ysabele asked as she was still confused “You’re saying that he is not how he looks like and instead the opposite of it?”

“Yes, even a rabbit is much rougher than him” Sigmund said before laughing loudly.

“Pfft, don’t tell me he thinks that face will make people approach him?” Ysabele giggled from imagining it.

Sigmund gave her a warm smile. “You don’t have to worry about your resources you need for enlightenment. Before I disappear, I will make sure you have enough to suffice your need for 10 years or more just to be sure.” He said

“Ehh, you don’t really need to. I went out from home to train outside so I have enough.” She said with a delicate tone.

Sigmund waved his hand and said “I never been an ungrateful person so I need to be sure that in those five years, your current speed in enlightenment will not go slower and need to be faster instead.”

He glanced at her again before saying “This old man owe you and will do anything you want as long as it is not beyond my bottom line once in the future. Till then keep this Bookmark with you, it might help you in surviving some calamities so keep it safe.”

She received the Bookmark and held it with the same hand holding the wand.

“From now on you will act as my substitute as a Librarian mistress so you can acquire any details you want about the library by accessing the vault in the office.
