“Are you ready?” Jel asked, a wide grin on her face. Eva was ready. She had been ready for a week, at least. She looked between the few present, from Mori to Fara to Jel and finally to Dessy. Just thinking about it made her excited. She was finally able to be intimate with Dessy.
She acutely remembered the incident that happened just a few days before. They were cuddling in bed, enjoying each other’s company, when Eva decided to be adventurous and tried her hand at playing with her lover for a bit. The reaction she got was… not great. On an intellectual level, Dessy was able to understand what was being done to her, but on a physical level, she was not able to really get into it. It was a major letdown for both of them. But Jel had been working on the mysterious mana type for longer than Eva had wanted to bed Dessy, so had high expectations. Not that she had not been cautioned about getting her expectations too high, but she did not really care about that.
Eva felt a hand come to rest on her shoulder, snuggling up to the familiar lukewarm, gentle hand, “We are,” Dessy firmly said. Eva nodded with her lover, smiling like an idiot the whole way.
“Mistress?” Jel asked, “Can I start now?”
Mori held up a hand, “One second, Jel,” she said, “Alright, before you two start having fun, I’m going to use a little trick gifted to me by the gods to make sure nothing bad happens. Trust me, I may not be an expert on this sort of stuff, but if what Jel explained was correct, then this could be a bit dangerous. First, though, do you mind me intruding on this?”
Eva felt Dessy about to answer, a knee jerk reaction if she had ever seen one, but stopped herself, turning to Eva. The woman tilted her head, “What?” she asked. Mori raised an eyebrow, or whatever could be called an eyebrow on her skeletal visage, but did not say any more.
“Eva… I can’t say no here… She’s my mistress. I just can’t do it. I want to make sure you’re… alright with it…” Dessy mumbled, her muzzle coming to rest on Eva’s shoulder.
Eva was fearless, though to some that seemed to be the case, but she was far from making sure the two of them were safe when they had their ‘fun,’ “Dessy, I don’t mind. I just want us to be safe.”
Mori gave a smile as Dessy nodded, “Good. Then if you’ll excuse me…” Eva felt… something latch onto her mind. It was like a tether, like a harness she had never known she was wearing being attached to a zipline cord. Judging by what Dessy was showing on her face, she was also given the ‘tether.’ It was weird, but also comfortable in a way. “And there we go. Also, I’ve been trying to get better at emotional filtering across this thing, but I can still feel some of it. I’ll step in if anything goes weird. Alright, you’re up, Jel!” she said, backing away and coming to a stop beside Fara and Idle.
Eva was surprised to see the lonesome pyrausta appear for such a personal event, but was thankful nonetheless. “And I’m starting in three…” she raised her hands, “Two…” her hands began to glow, “One.” Jel’s hands pushed something forward. The world instant spun, her vision becoming darker and darker until everything around them was gone.

“Dessy?” Eva called out into the black abyss. She could still feel that life line attached to her, still felt it watching over her which, while a bit odd, was still comforting.
She wandered for a few minutes longer until she heard something far off in the distance, “Eva? Eva?” It was Dessy, calling out to her from beyond the black void. she wasted no time in rushing towards her lover, feeling the intangible ground beneath her push back as she ran. Then, something broke. It was closer to being ripped, like a thick curtain. The void around her dispersed, leaving her standing on… threads. Enormous threads that simply hung in a void of blue, a red radiating from it with two other hazy paths of red leading off into the void.

She could see something else, beyond her threads, and atop another yarn ball of threads was the subject of her affections. She stood on her massive ball, confused and puzzled as she looked around. “Dessy!” Eva shouted, her voice echoing in the massive space, “Over here!”
“Eva!” Dessy shouted, rushing to the edge of her ball of yarn on surprisingly nimble legs. “How- How do I get over there?” she shouted.
Eva looked around frantically, trying to find anything possible to make a bridge. Yet, the only thing all around her was the massive threads. She looked at them with an appraising eye before something finally clicked, “I think I have a way!” she shouted, “If we cut the threads, then we can make a bridge!”
“Don’t do that!” Desire practically screamed back to her, surprising Eva a bit, “These… These are our souls! If we cut them or hurt them or anything like that, then we’ll just be hurting ourselves! Can you use mana?” she called out
Eva nodded, “I can! But isn’t that dangerous? Jel is using a spell to help us here! Let’s just… Um… You said these are our souls, right?”
“Maybe!” Dessy called back, “But, I dunno if it’s a good idea! Maybe we should leave and ask for directions!”
Narrowing her eyes, Eva shook her head, “But, if we do that, then we won’t be able to do anything! We won’t be together! I’m doing it! I’m coming over there!” She began to focus, only to find the threads and string she was standing on to be… immovable. It was like trying to move her femur, and just her femur. She could move the muscle around it, but ripping the bone out from its place was not possible. ‘Unless…’ she thought to herself, poking and prodding at something she had somewhat ignored.
“Is that really the best idea?” Dessy yelled as Eva concentrated, “The mistress told me to be careful with soul stuff! She went through it and it’s not good! I- Hey, what are you doing!?” she shouted, looking at the red aura around their souls.
With a heaving effort, she latched her aura around Dessy’s soul, pulling with careful motions. One step back. Then another. Then a third. She pulled and pulled, watching with bated breath as Dessy came closer and closer. She felt a bit of discomfort, like flexing a muscle she had barely ever used, but she was otherwise fine.
With a final, herculean effort, she felt her soul lightly brush against Dessy’s. It was intense, not pain, maybe even pleasure, but intense all the same. She let go of her soul’s aura and rushed her lover with open arms. Dessy met her with two pairs of open arms as well. She felt so close then. So close.

“I think they’ve started,” the mistress said, closing her eyes in concentration, “Eva dragged their souls together somehow. That’s… interesting, but still makes me wonder where the hell their souls even are right now.” Jel had the same question, though, seeing as how their heads rested on the other’s, it was not hard to guess.
“So, they’ve done it?” Fara asked, eyebrow raised.
Jel shrugged, “They are doing it,” she corrected, “So, what do you think happens when they're done?”
The mistress turned to her, “You don’t… know?” she asked, visibly bewildered.
“Well, I have an idea, but not specifically. I based it one the idea of their souls being close, so maybe they can share spiritual Traits? Or just share abilities or knowledge? Maybe they’ll even become psychic!” Jel replied, becoming more than a bit excited.
“Jel… Well, I’ll have to keep an eye out on them. Do you two want to stay for all of this?” she asked, turning to Fara and Idle. The two nodded, silently watching the two lovers simply hold each other.
After a while, Jel felt the spell slip from them, meaning that her job was done. She stopped the spell from going further. The two lovers slowly, steadily, roused themselves from their slumber, blinking dumbly at the dull light of the library. “That was… Amazing!” Eva shouted, bolting to her feet, “I can still feel it! I can feel it all! I can-”
Mori held up a hand, “Clam down, calm down. Why don’t you sleep on it for a while and talk about it in the morning?” She led the two lovers out of the library, Idle and Fara following soon after. Jel, however, was more focused on the system message in front of her.
[Well, that was interesting. Before you ask, no, you’re not in trouble. Yet. Just do me and my husband a favor and don’t start sharing that around. Your mistress may not have told you, but this is very delicate mana you’re working with. Though, yours is a bit more stable and less applicable. Just make sure you don’t share anything. Alright? If you do, we’ll have to kill you. After letting Mori have a go at you for a while.

Jel reread it a few times, sighing when finished, “I guess I’m special, then,” she said, chuckling to herself. She skipped away, looking for where Desire went. She wanted first-hand feedback on her mana.
