Prologue: A Junior and a Senior

Prologue: A Junior and a Senior

In a courtyard sat a teen youth and an old man. The courtyard was a Chinese style which gave off a peaceful, serene feeling. The two were currently sitting at a table drinking tea.

The old man was wearing white robes and had long white hair, white beard. He was skinny and had very wrinkled skin. The youth however had light blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. He wasn't obese but not built either. He was wearing black jeans, sneakers and a red T-shirt, which had black lines on it.

He was calmly drinking tea with the old man, when suddenly the old man said, “You having such a rough life was all our fault. I am deeply sorry about that. According to your karmic luck, you should have actually been born to a high class family and live a long and happy life. However, due to our mishap, you ended up with a body like yours.”

The man looked sorry but his tone left a feeling that it wasn't a big deal. The youth looked at his tea cup and gave a wry smile, “Well, that's what you would expect from a God. Me living in a plastic bubble is just a mishap.” The youth started remembering what his 16 years of life had been like.

He was born with a rare heart condition that prevented him from doing any physical exercise, he could only watch from afar how others ran around and played. The doctors predicted that he would live only up to 12 years, maybe 13 but he managed to hold on for 16 years.

When he was born, his father worked for a sales company and was in line to become a department chief but after his child's condition became clear, he left everything to work as a regular salesman. Everyone he worked with called him crazy for it but some could understand. He wanted a stable job that would let him spend more time with his family but if he took the chiefs position, his work hours would have increased by a lot.

When the president of the company asked him about that, he only gave a concrete answer, “I can always earn more money but my son is the only one in the world. Even if I have another, it would not be the same.”

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

When the old man heard that, he frowned. He only let out a soft sigh before saying, “In this dimension, there are no “Gods”, there are only people who surpass mortality, “Deities” if you will. However, we are not all powerful and we can not create life. Even we don't know where this dimension came from or who created it but we manage it.”

The youth looked at the old man and asked, “So, what happens now? I am going to be reincarnated again?” The old man nodded as he took a sip of tea, “Yes, you will. However this time you will be reincarnated in a world, where you will have a possibility of becoming a deity yourself. However, whether you succeed or not, will be up to you.”

The youth looked at him with expectant eyes and muttered, “So I will have a chance of becoming a deity.” The old man saw the expectations in his eyes and let out a small smile. He then pointed his finger between the youths eyebrows and said, “Now, it is time for you to go. Also, I will give you a little present to make up for the mishap we had with your previous life.”

As white light surrounded the youth, he felt warm and involuntarily fell asleep. As he closed his eyes, the white light got brighter until the soul was teleported away. When the youth was gone, a young female in purple robes walked near the old man. She had long black hair and brown eyes. Her skin was as pale as snow.

She said to the old man, “To think that the one who saved us all, had to live such a painful life. However, we are not allowed to mess with the reincarnation cycle, so you took a huge risk by tampering with it. Had something gone wrong, we would've had a disaster on our hands.”

The old man let out a hearty laugh as he said, “Hehehe, do not underestimate me and I owe him at least that much to take the risk. Also, as for the gift I departed him with, maybe some day the name “Bloody Angel” will echo across the dimension again.”

The young lady let out a wry smile and thought to herself, “I hope we meet again some day, little demon.”
