Alice stood on the dry sand of the coliseum floor staring out into the blood red sky, the color of which just so happened to be the same as the blush on her cheek's.
She had just realized how embarrassing it was to be wearing a bright pink flowery dress with a crown and a magical wand. In her defence she had spent years with people in the same predicament.
Still as embarrassed as she was, she could feel her resolve, her desire to win. She couldn't let all her sacrifice, the sacrifice of her friends go to waist.
....
Isaac sauntered onto the arena. Black flowing cape trailing behind him as he appraised the clearly embarrassed... Teenager?
Isaac was not exactly sure on that.
He let a sneer of self satisfaction cover the entirety of his face. This was to be his challenger? A child with a wand? Heroes had died by his hands.
Armies had been made dust, empires that spanned continents were made into nothing but vast graveyards in his anger and resentment.
Yet, this was to be his first opponent? He almost felt sorry for her. But then he remember being nothing. It was something that could not be described. He would not return to that.
"SO girl. I'm not one for idle chatter. I'll give you the first attack. Don't worry I won't even defend. Not that I think it would really matter."
...
Alice felt like she needed to remove some gunk from her ears, there was no way she had him right. He was just going to let her attack him?
She eyed him suspiciously. Yet, even as she aimed her wand at him, he did not move.
He didn't even move when she channeled a pink energy into said wand. So she fired off a bolt of pure energy aimed at the man's arm.
"MAGICAL BLAST"
A dazzling light show followed as a vortex of energy shot from her wand, speeding towards Isaacs arm like a comet. Detonating In an explosion so powerful it knocked him back several feet. Chunks of arm were all there were left of the explosion.
Yet he did even seem to be in pain as far as Alice could tell, in fact he was smiling. A twisted grin.
Stolen story; please report.
"So a ranged fighter"
...
Isaac did indeed feel the pain of the explosion, but he'd been hit by attacks that hurt him on the level of his soul. No way was a lost arm going to be enough to take him out of the fight.
He channeled the energy of his soul into the stump that remained. The bone began to protude out forming a long sleek blade.
When the blade fully formed he charged with the speed of a jet. The ground cracking underneath the sheer force of the movement. He pivoted and tested his way through hasty attacks of magical energy.
Seriously it was like this girl had only fought monsters or something. Regardless Isaac managed to stab into her left shoulder illiciting a scream of pain from the girl.
Then he kicked her so hard he felt ribs crack. She rolled five fight away, bleeding profusely from the wound in her shoulder but to Isaacs surprise she got back up seeming to heal her injuries.
...
Alice wanted to cry, the burning hot pain in her shoulder being the most likely cause for that desire.
But she stood and calmed her emotions. She tapped her wand to her should grimacing in pain as she channeled her magic into the wound. The flesh knitting itself together.
She began to float as high as she could but had weave her way though a bullet like hail of bone spikes that Isaac began to shoot at her with. She zipped and aimed a few attacks at him but he blocked it with some sorta of dome.
"MAGICAL SPHERE"
A sphere of energy shot out from her wand. Seeming to tear space apart around it. It moved quickly towards the dome of bone, carving and tearing it to shreds on impact.
Yet no necromancer was inside. She felt the air on her back shift as she felt another shearing hot pain. This time in her lower back.
"You try to be more aware of your surroundings" said the patronizing voice behind her. She tried to move but her body wouldn't respond to her.
"I cut the nerves in your spinal cord. You won't be doing much of anything"
Alice gulped as she tried to find some solution. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. Yet, every move she tried seemed to fail.
She could still channel magic though, and blasted the area with bright light. Taking the necromancer by surprise making her body slip away from the blade to crash underneath.
She began to crawl towards her wand. As the necromancer cursed above her. She couldn't see him, could barely move her body. But she inched her way towards the wand.
The necromancer slowly began to move towards her, an angry snarl replacing the grin. She could now see the wings made of putrid flesh on his back.
But she payed it no mind as she inched and crawled and struggles towards her wand.
Just before Isaacs angry charge hit her she got her hands on the wand.
"HEALING AURA" she cried out, as feelings began to return. And with a bit more strength in her arms she swung the wands in a wide arc channeling magic as she did so.
Isaac was pushed away by the force of the magic cuts appearing all over his skin, cuts that didn't heal like they should have.
...
Isaac starred panting as he reassessed the danger of his opponent. This might get tricky.
...
Alice felt exhausted. She'd been forced to use so much magic in such a short time. She had always been the weakest of the girls trapped in the factory. Still she held her ground.
She would not give in so easily. She would win even if she had to destroy herself to do so.
