Kamisama Agóri—a college student—has a deformity that makes his face look weird. He goes to school and gets pushed over by a guy named Chase who calls him a freak. Everyone in the hallway laughs at him.
As he's picking up his stuff, a boy named Aster helps him. He and Aster hang out most of the school day because they attend the same classes. At the end of the day, Kamisama gets cornered by Chase and 3 others. They start to jump him and call him a freak, and as Agòri lays there, he sees someone recording—it was Aster laughing with the boys who were beating him.
He goes back to his apartment and grabs his gun. He sits in the corner and he sticks the gun in his mouth, but he can't pull the trigger and asks himself, "Why can't I…just…die?" and before he tries to pull the trigger again, something falls onto his table. He gets up to see what it was and he sees a dark skinned man covered in gold lying on the table
agóri seeing the dark skin man fall onto the table—and agóri approaches the man. Agóri thinks to himself how did this man land on his table. He reaches out to see if the man is ok but before he can, the man busts out laughing and rolls to the floor. Agóri is confused as to why the man is laughing and he thinks, "Was he laughing at…” but before he could finish the thought, the man stands up and gives agóri a confused expression and asks, "The hell is wrong with your face?"

Agóri, not saying a word, looks down at the floor. The man notices this and laughs, and says, "Hey, kid, don't be so down. Try this…" and hands Agóri an engraved bottle.
Agóri hesitates to drink and the man says, “Give it a try." So agóri takes a swig and immediately spits it out. The man burst with laughter and said, "What, can't handle a little alcohol?" as he downs the whole bottle. Agóri finally decides to speak and asks him who he was. The man laughs and approaches Agóri and says, "Just a guy having a great fucking time."
He then touches Agóri's shoulder, pushing his back to the wall. At this time, Agóri’s vision is starting to fade and all you hear is the man saying, “Oh shit!” and Agóri blacking out.
The next day, Agóri wakes up and remembers what happened yesterday then goes to the living room he was in before, but the man is gone.
At the end of the chapter, Agóri is walking and getting dressed to go to school and he walks past a mirror and he stops and looks. He drops his bags in disbelief at his face. His face is normal.
"What the fuck is happening?!" he yelled
out.
