"So basically you are a shinigami from a place called Soul Society and your job is to exterminate the monsters like the one from earlier today?"
"Yeah, something like that. I came here because I felt a high level of spiritual pressure. It came from you, I'm guessing."
Kiyota facepalmed again, 'I ruined the timeline. I'm sorry Ichigo.'
"So what's the deal with the monsters? And the dead people... Why can I see them?" Kiyota asked.
"Well, the monsters are called hollows. They're souls of the dead who have lost their heart and become evil spirits. They eat the souls of living humans, which is why we exterminate them." Rukia explained.
"I see. And the dead people? Do they all end up becoming hollows?" Kiyota asked.
"No, they don't. Most of the time, shinigami are there to help the lost souls pass over." Rukia replied.
"Oh, okay. That's good to hear." Kiyota said as he sat down on the bed.
Kiyota looked at Rukia for a second then asked, "Is there a hollow here? Usually I can feel them. Am I in danger?"
Rukia looked around and shook her head.
"No, You seem to be safe. I thought you were a hollow."
"Alright, that's good." Kiyota sighed acting relived.
'I've gotta get her out of here and to Ichigo's house, otherwise him and his sisters will die. Moreover, he won't get his powers. Quick, think of something... I have and idea.'
Kiyota jumped up, acting surprised, and started looking around the room and then out of the window.
"I feel the presence of a hollow" Kiyota said as he ran out of the house and ran towards Kurosaki Clinic.
'I'll make her follow me'
Rukia jumped up and started following Kiyota.
'Perfect'
Rukia followed Kiyota all the way to the clinic. He stopped when he was near the front door.
"I feel a hollow nearby." Kiyota whispered to Rukia.
Kiyota looked up at the sky. The moon was full tonight.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
'Good, it's all going to plan'
"Go up there and into that room" Kiyota said pointing at a window.
"Why should I go up there?" Rukia asked with a confused expression.
"That's where the hollow is." Kiyota answered.
"Are you sure?" Rukia asked with a serious look on her face.
"Yes, I'm sure. Now go." Kiyota said as he pushed Rukia toward the house.
"I don't feel it, but if you're sure, then I'll go. I don't want to risk it." Rukia said as she jumped through the window and into Ichigo's bedroom.
After a few minutes of Kiyota just standing there, he heard a loud voice from the window.
"Bakudō number one, Sai."
'Yes! I didn't mess the timeline up yet.'
Kiyota ran back and hid behind a street lamppost. A loud roar came from the other end of the street. It was the hollow. It was running towards Ichigo's house.
'The hollow is coming. Ah shit, I hope it doesn't sense me.' Kiyota thought to himself.
Kiyota looked at the house.
"Interesting. I wonder what you're up to, boy." A voice came from behind Kiyota
Kiyota jolted at the sound of the voice, his heart dropping as he felt the familiarity behind the voice. He turned around slowly and saw a tall man with yellow hair and distinctive green-and-white striped bucket hat. Kiyota tried not to show his fear or panic, but it was obvious that he was scared.
'If he thinks I'm suspicious, he might kill me.' Kiyota thought to himself.
"Who... Who are you?" Kiyota stuttered.
"Ah, you can see me. Interesting. I am known as Urahara Kisuke. And who may you be?"
Urahara asked with a smile on his face.
"I'm Kiyota Jin. Nice to meet you." Kiyota said as he bowed politely.
A loud crash and bang followed by screams came from the clinic, but Kiyota didn't break eye contact with Kisuke.
"Hmm, why don't we go somewhere more quiet." Said Urahara as he walked away from the clinic.
"Wait! There's a hollow there! It's attacking my friend, Ichigo." Kiyota said, stopping Urahara in his tracks.
"Really? Well, I'm sure that shinigami girl is capable of dealing with it." Urahara said as he turned around.
Kiyota looked at Urahara with a puzzled expression.
'How does he know that Rukia's there?'
"You seem quite calm even though your friend is being attacked. You can not only see spirits but also locate their spiritual pressure. Very interesting." Kisuke said with a serious tone but still smiling.
"Oh, right. Yeah, I've been able to do that for a while now. So you can see spirits too?" Kiyota asked.
Suddenly, a large shockwave of energy and a blinding blue light came from the clinic's direction.
'It's done. Ichigo has his powers now.' Kiyota though to himself
"Well, of course I can. Oh look, it seems I'm needed." Urahara replied as held his on to his hat so it wouldn't fly away and walked towards the clinic.
Kiyota turned around and followed behind him. When Kisuke and Kiyota arrived, Ichigo was passed out with a giant zanpakutō in his arms, and he was wearing a black kimono. Rukia was behind his with a wound on her shoulder.
"Hey! Rukia, are you ok?" Kiyota shouted as he ran up to her.
"Yes, I'm fine." Rukia replied as she turned to Kiyota.
"Oh my, it seems you are hurt." Kisuke said as he looked at Rukia's wound.
Rukia quickly covered her wound and looked at Kisuke then at Kiyota.
"Why are you guys together?" She asked with a puzzled expression.
"Don't worry about that. Come inside and let's get that wound healed up." Kisuke said as he lead the three of them inside the house.
Kiyota's face turned sour when he looked at Karin's unconscious body lying on the floor. He picked her up. They entered the house and sat down in Ichigo's living room. Kiyota went up the stairs and placed Karin's body in her bed, then picked up Yuzu's body and put her in bed.
'They are so small. They remind me of my sister.' Kiyota thought to himself as he stared at the twins for a few moments before leaving the room.
