Chapter 32 The One Misplaced in Time

Chapter 32 The One Misplaced in Time

Chapter 32

*GUHOOOOOOOO!!!*

A powerful shout resounded through the desert, causing powerful bursts of sand to head Renya’s way.

“Let’s take of this big guy first, then we’ll talk.”

After saying so, he mounted his bow on his back before pulling out [Silver Fang], an Ancient Grade weapon he made. It material was of a white metal, emitting a faint glow not being affected by the darkness around it, the sword was 2 meters long giving one a sense of purity as they looked at it.

“!!!”

Nabila’s expression turned to that of shock when she saw the weapon, even she could feel the strength of it with just its presence alone. Renya paid no mind to this however as he focused his attention to the Evil God Guardian.

“Little White!”

As he shouted her name, the white owl emitted a great white and gold radiance, she grew to the size of car, her wing span increasing to a monstrous length of 12 meters, he feathers became fierce as they grew sharper and emitted a chilling light with a hint of gold, her originally calm eyes became fierce as their glow intensified.

And if one were to look closely, a gold tattoo like mark in the shape of a crown appeared on her fore head.

[Name: Little White

Level: 167

Race: Divine Frost Owl

Description: A Divine Frost Owl, an extremely rare race of Owls said to have existed even before the Altinea Continent’s existence. The only way to distinguish them from normal White Frost Owls are their ability to summon enter their Divine State, where their size and overall combat ability improves drastically, after reaching level 150.]

“!!!”

Yet again, Nabila’s expression becomes even more excited.

As Little White transformed, she immediately flew towards the giant guardian, crashing towards it with her large body as it became surrounded by a a blueish white and gold barrier. Due to the impact, the giant guardian staggered backwards, almost falling back even.

Renya did not fall behind as he used the skill [Great Leap] and headed towards one of its legs. Releasing his [Limit] as he did, he released a powerful strike towards its leg, causing a deep horizontal gash across it to appear on the surface.

“You’re a tough one!”

Renya exclaimed. Although he was indeed surprised, it was not because his attack didn’t do much since it was just a strike without a skill, but was because of how much stronger he was compared to the game. Normally he’d need to attack with a skill to cause the same level of damage, however it seems like it was not the case here.

Activating [fly], he flew back to put some distance between him and the guardian. Almost instantly after he did, the guardian released a powerful aura that caused the winds to stir.

“It entered its second phase already?!”

Shocked from the sudden change of events, he couldn’t react quickly as he was blown back by the winds. Stabilizing himself, he reassessed the guardian in front of him.

The runes around its body glow an intense orange color as the aura grew stronger by a few folds. Before long, its enormous arms swung upwards, causing another earthquake to occur.

“This is!!!”

As soon as those words left Renya’s mouth, the sky became covered with an enormous magic circle, covering several kilometers.

“God tier skill! Little White!”

Almost as if she didn’t even need his command, she flew towards the frightened Nabila as she covered her with her wings. As for Renya, he realized that Renz’s group will be dragged in by the skill at this rate, he didn’t hold back as he casted a skill of the same grade.

“[Sword God’s Challenge]!”

After activating the skill, the area around Renya and the guardian became separated from everything around it by a , almost as if created an arena out of the current plane. Not only that, it ended up disrupting the skill the guardian was casting.

“Whew… Now then, it’s just the two of us until either of us dies. Then again, there’s no point tell you this no?”

The guardian ignored his words as it swung its arms at him in rage.

“Glad we can agree on things.”

He replied despite the lack of a response from the other party. After doing so, he replaced [Silver Fang] with devourer [Devourer], the strongest weapon in his arsenal.

“Now that I’m here, I don’t need to fear a third party seeing the fight.”

The grip he had on Devourer tightened, the blade had a simple hilt, the material it had was black and devoid of any other color, even light did not shine upon its surface, almost as if it were consuming it. If one were to describe it, it was akin to having the abyss forged into a sword.

“[Dimensional Cutter].”

Just like that, a God Tier skill was casted. It traveled almost instantly towards the guardian, causing a line to appear across it spanning a ridiculous length that grew longer than the guardian itself.

*pakin*

Akin to the sound of glass cracking, the golem was split into two as its separate halves slid off in different directions and causing an earthquake as it fell. It did not take long for the glowing runes to become faint and weak before vanishing completely.

“Whew, it may not be showy but it did the trick. Just that its wastes too much mana.”

Renya sighed as he scratched his head a bit, grabbing a high tier mana potion from his bag before chugging it down. Although he was strong, his mana reserves weren’t infinite.

“Maybe I was a bit too showy… I don’t think anyone was around, maybe Renz? Well I’ll worry about that in the future.”

Before he realized it, the area slowly returned to normal and dozens of meters away from him he saw Nabila inside Little White’s wings before flying towards them.

“Strong… Deceived me…”

She said with a pout as her blue eyes narrowed a bit, causing Renya to sit down to her eye level.

“It’s not that I wanted to deceive you, hey! I told you I was strong didn’t I?”

“Unconvincing… Felt weak…”

“This…”

Renya’s cheek twitched a bit.

“Well, do you still think that I can’t help you now?”

“I believe… Can help…”

“Good, now tell me about the Ancient Era.”

“This… Status…”

“Your status? Do you want me to view your status?”

Nodding as he asked, Renya used [Appraisal], a skill that levels up with the user, on Nabila.

[Name: Nabila-37

Level: 98

Title(s): [Lone Survivor], [Misplaced in Time]

Race: Human (Trial Subject)

Description: A human from the Ancient Era that’s been sent to distant future as time mage research. Believed to have been a failure, no efforts have been made to retrieve her.]

“What the $%*#.”

Indeed, even Renya could not help but be baffled at what he saw.

“Something… wrong?”

“No, it’s nothing.”

Renya pulled the cloth covering his face down to reveal a calm smile as he caressed her head. He could not help but sympathize with the child in front of him, after all, their situation is more or less the same. Although she did not know why he was suddenly acting so warm, she did not reject his display of affection.

“You’ve been through a lot.”

“Un…”

She felt her nose go sour, confused as to why her face ended up making a strange expression. Little white, who had turned back to her much smaller form, flew to her shoulder and began comforting her as well, despite not knowing why they were even doing so in the first place.

Calming down a bit, Renya stood up.

“Now then, you wanted to go somewhere right?”

“Yes… Follow…”

Wiping the corners of her eyes with her sleeves, she led Renya somewhere. But before doing so, Renya stored the giant body of the Guardian inside his [Inventory]. Despite how ridiculous it looked, he managed to do it.

Her speed was amazing despite being so small, enough to keep up with level 100 agility centered classes despite not being a level 100 herself.

Soon they found themselves at the center of the sandstorm, the center of the Dungeon Break. On the sand laid ruins of an enormous building with a hole, presumably the entrance, spanning a kilometer or so. Gazing into the hole, he felt a strong presence coming from inside.

“I recognize this place.”

“Home… Where?”

“Eh?.... Your home?”

“Yes… Home…. Here..”

“Isn’t this where the site where the 6th Evil God first emerged?”

“?!”

Her expression changed for the worse upon hearing his words. However, remembering that she was sent here through Time Magic, he felt that the coincidence of this place being where the 6th evil god emerged was fitting.

After all, the evil god that emerged here was [6th Evil God, ], a boss that came with the increase of the level cap to 160.

“Holy %$*#! No way! It was said that that guy’s descent was due to an accident that happened in an experiment! Could it be?”

His brows furrowed deeply the more he thought about it. Nabila on the other hand felt weak on the knees after being told such absurd events.

Realizing that he was terrifying her, he stopped as he began comforting her.

(This is bad, shouldn’t scare her too much. Though I should call Charlotte and the others about this.)

While he was thinking so, he felt a hand grasp the hem of his clothes as a pair of moist eyes glanced at his face.

“Are they… Gone?”

“They?”

“Sisters…”

“I… Don’t know. I can’t say for sure that they are.”

All of a sudden, she bursts into tears.

“Ah!”

It was too abrupt that Renya became very troubled. Not knowing what to do, he moved instinctively as he pulled her to his embrace. Even Little White joined in.

“Ah… Uuu….”

Her sobs lasted for quite some time before she managed to calm down. She lifted her head from his bosom, her eyes were completely red and some snot was even leaking out of her nose, but Renya did not mind. Taking his sleeve and wiping her face clean, he apologized.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s… It’s fine… Not your fault…”

“What will you do from now on?”

“I.. Don’t know…”

“Then why don’t you come with me?”

“Come..?”

“I may not look like it but I’m a king you know? Well, a Lord… But I’ve got my own territory! Your welcome to stay there if you want.”

“Really?... But… Can I follow you?”

“Are you sure? But why follow me even?”

“Can trust… Good person…”

“What if I were a bad man just waiting for you to do just that?”

“No… Kind.. wouldn’t do that….”

“I see, then welcome aboard.”

Saying so, he caressed her head a bit.

“I need to call over some people, so give me a second.”

After seeing her nod, he immediately contacted Charlotte.

A familiar voice rang in his head.

After a while, another voice spoke.

With that, Amitiel went off.

“That was…?”

“Hmm, a subordinate. They’ll be coming soon, they may look intimidating but they’re good people you know? Ah, Especially Charlotte, I feel like you’ll like her a lot.”

He said with a smile. Hearing him say those words, she could not help but beam a slight smile at him, causing him to be caught off guard, one should know, she has not made a single expression since they’ve met.

“Ahhh, I should probably go to where Renz and the others are… I forgot about them!”

Realizing he’d forgotten about their group, he sent Amitiel and a message that he forgot about something so he’ll be right back. Together with Nabila and Little White, the three of them ran towards where Renz marked the map. As they did, the sky gradually returned to its originally blue color.

Soon, a large village can be seen by the river side, and eventually, he saw a group of robust men gathered together with Renz at the lead.

“Oi! It’s Renya! He’s alive!”

Renz shouted in excitement and to his side was a woman. She had black hair, a dark skin color and was dressed in thick light brown cloth, she seemed rather intimate with Renz.

“Still alive I see?”

“Alive? I should be asking you that? What the hell was with all that light? I thought you were only going to distract it? Don’t tell me you ended up fighting that thing? And what’s with that silence afterwards?! I thought you were already dead!”

“Didn’t I say that I’ve faced worse? You worry too much, or do you have a crush on me?”

Renya replied with a chuckle.

“You!?”

“That’s enough Ren. I thank you for your hard work in his stead. I am Misha, Ren’s Wife.”

[Casul_Reader: Yes, she called him Ren instead or Renz, kind of like a nickname?]

The woman courteously bowed her head.

“No, we just happened to head the same way, we didn’t do much. I’m Renya, and this is Nabila and Little White.”

“Tsk, acting all humble- Aaaaah!”

His words got cut off as his waist was fiercely pinched and twisted by Misha.

(Terrifying…)

He could not help but comment in his mind.

“Such a young child? When I heard it from Ren I couldn’t believe it.”

“I.. Stronger than… him…”

Hearing her words, a vein popped on Renz’s forehead, but he did not dare speak out loud with Misha around.

“He may act like this but he’s very soft hearted.”

“Soft hearted?! When have I ever bee- Aaaaaagh!!!”

Yet again, he received another pinch, one more brutal than the last.

“Forgive me yet again, he has trouble keeping his mouth shut at times.”

“N-no… It’s fine, really, it’s fine.”

He could not stutter a bit at the sight of a tough and large man like Renz bending to his knees at the mercy of another. He gave the impression of being someone who’d rather break rather than bend after all.

“I can understand why he’s been so tensed this whole time.”

“Really now? I thought the worry was unnecessary.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes, the village was able to defend for the most part as the sandstorm never grew any further than it did.”

“I see. ( Well Dungeon Breaks tend to have a limited range to them.)”

“Though it was getting a bit difficult with almost all the trade routes blocked.”

“I see, well I plan on going back in.”

This time around, Renz stood up with a fierce expression.

“Oi! Do you realize how dangerous it is to go back?”

“I’ll do fine, I only came here to see how you are and fortunately, it turns out you guys are doing fine.”

“I see, then is there anything we can help you with?”

“No, it’s fine. Anyways, it’s good to see your village is alright. We’ll see each other again maybe?”

“Yeah, take care out there. I don’t want to hear any news of you being found dead in some parts of the desert.”

“Aye. I’ll pay a visit when I finish what I need to do.”

With that, Renya and the others ran back to the sandstorm.

The sun was already beginning to set by the time they reached the entrance again, however, due to the sandstorm they couldn’t really tell apart from the area getting darker.

Soon, a faint light could be seen flickering in the distance, eventually becoming a group of 6 lights whose glow grew even stronger.

“They’re here.”

“Friends…?”

“Yeah, well, kind of?”

He said in reply, calmly caressing her hair with his hand to calm her down.
