I got three adventurers and the guard captain including Rex which that was a given, he was really enthused about going outside of my safe zone while the others were terrified about it. The adventurers were shaking in their boots as we traversed the ruins of the city, Rex and I have been the only ones that have been fighting the whole way. When we reached the Daycare there was a trail of blood leading inside which made me a little uncomfortable, when we walked in we were met with human bodies hung from the ceiling and some of them were still alive but they were skinned and dismembered. Everyone felt the effects even Rex, in the center of the room was one of the cannibals from earlier. When he turned around I could see something was wrong with him, he was disfigured with sharpened teeth and a necklace with ears hanging from it I quickly used identify on the abomination in front of me.

                Rex was going to say something but stopped for some reason probably he felt that something was wrong just like me.

Rex Pov

                What the hell is that thing? It looks like a puny human but deformed and what is it doing with these bodies no I should call them victims.

“Everyone back out immediately, Rex cover the right side I will take the left.” (Zander)

                I was about to tell him we could fight this thing but when I looked at his face I could see the fear in his eyes, in the short time I have seen him I have never seen him scared not even in the face of the army of undead. We were about to move when the creature completely disappeared, Zander immediately acted as he pushed me out of the way and the creatures claw embedded into Zander’s shoulder. He gave a muffled grunt then head butted the creature causing it to stagger back leaving some teeth in sanders forehead, I got up and rushed out of the building only to be met with the other humans. I turned around to see Zander being thrown out of the building with scratch marks all over his body as he coughed up blood painting the ground crimson.  Zander ignored the pain as he turned to me and gave me orders barely hearable but I got the picture from the few words I could hear. I jumped down the stairs and slammed the door shut followed by the creature banging on it trying to break it apart; the humans came to my aid as they helped keep it shut.

After a few moments of us struggling against the door Zander came stumbling down the stairs, he used the railing to support himself as he raised his hand he uttered a single word that sent shivers down my spine as I stared at his cloudy eyes. We moved to the side as the door flung open flames shot out of Zander’s hand and right into the creature, it let out a screech destroying our ear drums as it charged forward at Zander. I shoulder checked the creature making it slam into the wall smashing it’s head open and finally killing it.

                That thing was an elite monster? What the hell it was stronger than the Litch if anything it would be Noble type monster! I heard a heavy thud as Zander fell to the floor panting as a puddle of blood formed under him. I helped him up and we entered the godforsaken building that was the monsters layer, I sat Zander down as he pulled out a blood red potion that he drank immediately and soon after his wounds were closed but he was still suffering from blood lose.

Zander POV

                I was too weak, I was too goddamn weak! I need to grow stronger, I thought I could deal with anything that came my way but I was wrong if I want to survive this I need to gain strength that cannot be questioned and will not fail me. I told Rex to bring me any of the victims that were still alive, he gave me a strange look but did what I asked. I got the others to collect all the books and any materials that would be useful; when Rex was done I got up and stumbled towards the three surviving victims. I put my hand on two of them and started to heal them with my lesser heal it didn’t heal much but I had it on constantly. It took me three hours to just to keep them alive then I worked on the third one which wasn’t skinned just had multiple cuts and a wound where he was hung, after I healed the guy that had minor wounds I went back to the others and continued to heal them until I ran out of mana. The three adventurers carried the survivors and the guard captain helped me walk as Rex took care of any enemies that we came across, we were questioned a lot when we got back to the safe haven but we didn’t answer them I need my rest anyway.

                I went to sleep for a few hours and when I woke up Rex informed me they captured three humans that were trying to enter.  I walked out of the house and was led to the house the three humans were being held, when I walked in I saw four familiar faces that I haven’t seen in a while.

“Zander is that you?” (Mike)

“Oh great the Traitors son in still alive.” (Bitch Nurse)

“Hey it’s good to see you lad it’s been a while.” (Sam)

“Zander I’m glad you are safe.” (Class president)

                Rex stared at the nurse like he was going to rip her head off but I patted his shoulder signaling him it was alright.

“Well this was unexpected but I thought you would be with the others at the school.” (Me)

“I would be if they didn’t start sacrificing people to the monsters for three days of peace.” (Mike)

“Damn Bastards actually wanted to sacrifice me can you believe that?” (Sam)

“We all were on the chopping block.” (Class President)

“Why are you even telling him all this?” (Bitch Nurse)

“Well glad you guys are alive but I have to tell you that if you plan to stay I can’t guaranty that you will stay for long unless you work there is no free rides here.” (Me)

“I understand and if you will have me I can help out with anything in my ability.” (Mike)

“Alright if you understand you can join everyone else also if you have any coins I will take them and I will buy items and skill books for you of course I can convert normal money into coins.” (Me)

“You will probably just take our money for yourself and won’t even use it!” (Bitch Nurse)

“Fine I need to rephrase my words, everyone except for the nurse can buy items from me until she apologizes  and actually learns to treat me with respect.” (Me)

“Please she didn’t mean it.” (Mike)

“Mike please don’t make this difficult I am in charge of a whole community and have to take care of it but one rotten apple will ruin the whole thing, I will not restrict anyone here but you should know every action has a consequence and you need to live with that.” (Me)

“Come on Triss apologies and get it over with.” (Mike)

“I will never do that to that man’s son.” (Triss)

*Sigh* “Food will come in a little bit and if you have anything you need write it down and give it to the guard or Rex they will hand it to me and I will get it to you as soon as I can, the house has running water and electricity so you should be comfortable here.” (Me)

“Zander wait!” (Class-President)

“What is it?” (Me)

“You left this dagger behind when you left, thank you for everything.” (Class president)

“Don’t worry about it.” (Me)

                I walked outside with Rex and lit a cigarette as I stared up at the night sky. Rex walked up to me and looked like he wanted to say something.

“What is it Rex I think we have been through enough for you to speak your mind around me.” (Me)

“I just want to know why you didn’t react to such disrespect when that woman is so weak, even for me I can tell she is extremely weak so why didn’t you put her in her place.” (Rex)

“It’s an atonement my father hurt many people and not just physical, she is my father’s fiancé and he would beat her and other things when they were not in public. When my father betrayed his team she suffered a lot from even knowing him so if hating me hurt is what she needs I will accept it but if she turns everyone against me I will deal with her myself.” (Me)

“You are naïve thinking she will change if you show her kindness.” (Rex)

“Well Rex Humans are very Naïve creatures.” (Me)
