I was waiting patiently for the others while I went over everything in the help menu, is says that the only way to stop a monster spawn in a certain location in to claim the land which I can’t do or kill the boss monster which in this case would be a goblin chief. As I was thinking about all the ways to kill it the teacher from earlier came over to me again but he brought the nurse.
“Hey Zander explaining to me what is happening to me?” (Teacher)
“In simple terms you become a game character now go and enjoy your new life somewhere else unless you need something important.” (Me)
“Figures the traitors son is just like him, Mike let’s go back to the others we can figure this out ourselves.” (Nurse)
“No right now he has the most information and I am starting to think the others are just trying to run away from reality.” (Mike)
Finally someone that I can get behind, but this bitch needs to go since the beginning she has been out to get me just because of my father’s greed.
“Now we are talking, I welcome a new outsider to the mix as a reward I will answer three questions before telling you to fuck off.” (Me)
Both of them gave me a dirty look but Mike didn’t give me any trouble so it’s okay but still what do they think would happen?
“Alright, What do you know about this new System?” (Mike)
“Not much in truth it has all of the features of a RPG but it’s more complicated than that; each attribute defines you in numeral form and you can increase it when you get enough experience, the system also judges you action and will either reward you or punish you for them.” (Me)
“What do you know about those creatures?” (Mike)
“They are goblins; they are small as children and even have their brains, however they have strength of a full grown man and that is with the runts, they will spawn at this location every five minutes unless we take out the boss monster.” (Me)
“I plan on handling that in a little bit to gain more experience and will leave the rest for you guy’s to take care of, think of it as a reward for surviving this long.” (Me)
“Are you not stay here and wait for safety like the rest of us?” (Mike)
“No, think about it for a second there are fifteen of us and we were suppose to resupply today so food is going to run thin, also all advanced technology will be disabled so the freezer will be useless along with the frozen food in it.” (Me)
“Along with your food issue you have the monster problem, the goblins will be taken care of soon but what will you do about the other monsters around along with the other sentient beings that will be coming in seven days.” (Me)
“Final question, why do you hate everyone?” (Mike)
“You should rethink your thinking; they hate me well they hate my father which is then directed onto me so it’s best to stay away from them.” (Me)
“So why does everyone hate your father?” (Mike)
“He is a traitor in the army and the people in his team were killed by him, it so happens that all of them except for two of them were people of this town.” (Me)
“When my Dad came back from prison on the first day he put the Mayor in an Acoma, so you can see why people hate him and for the students they have been jealous of my intelligence.” (Me)
“Well I guess that would cause them to hate you but still we need to stick together.” (Mike)
“No we don’t, you get stronger by killing or creating skills same as me but I won’t be dying for these people.” (Me)
“Is there no changing your mind?” (Mike)
“No, Mike I gave you the tools to your survival and now it’s time to choose either grow stronger yourself or be weighed down by these people, I am not saying to abandon them I am saying teach them how not to be a burden.” (Me)
I stood up and walked into the kitchen leaving Mike with the nurse as he stared dazed into the wall, I grabbed the gas tank from under the stoves and then grabbed a flare in the med-kit everyone looked at me with curiosity but I didn’t give them any response. I walked towards the girl that I carried her and saw she was sleeping soundly in some spare blankets; I couldn’t help but give her a handicap. I passed her a steel knife I looted from one of the goblins I killed and disappeared into the vents again.
Mike’s POV
Since all this began all hope has been lost for normal people, I was actually giving up hope a while there until one of the students came through the vents along with several others behind him. The most shocking thing was he was carrying a young girl on his back while doing it, I asked the girls what happened and they said he saved them but was trying to violate them as well.
I don’t believe their story that much because I can see in his eyes that he has no intention of doing that, since I became a teacher I have been able to pick up the intentions of people from their eyes. I was discussing things with the other staff when we heard screaming across the room, the girl the boy carried here was screaming while the boy stood over her watching her. Everyone jumped to conclusions on what was happing mainly about the boy trying to hurt the girl, when I saw what was going on I couldn’t believe it. The girl’s wounds were being healed instantly before my eyes along with everyone else’s.

I ended up thinking about it constantly while the others just gave out rude comments about the boy along with rumors from before all this happened, if I could tell them to shut the hell up I would but then I would distance myself from the group which was a bad idea. I took a gamble and decided to talk to the boy in the corner of the room, we didn’t talk much instead he wanted me to go hunting with him. I didn’t understand until he brought a goblin in the room with us. I used the kitchen knife I brought with me and slit the goblins throat.

Shooting pain went through me as the blue screens showed up I was paralyzed not even able to speak. The boy put me back into the vent just in enough time to keep me from being noticed by the goblins that just arrived; I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The boy single handedly killed five goblins with only a few wounds; after he was done we headed back separated again, I told the other staff about what I just witnessed. The staff just brushed it off saying I must be delusional from what’s happening and continued on with their idol talk about being rescued, I was about to go speak to the boy again when Elena the school nurse walked up to me.
“Mike stay away from that child it will only bring you bad luck.” (Elena)
I can’t believe this women she is suppose to be carrying towards the students and try to comfort them, why is that boy so different?
“He knows more than us and he is a lot stronger than us in many ways, we can’t just wait here to be saved most likely we need to defend ourselves until this blows over which can be accomplished with the boys help.” (Mike)
“Just be careful on what you do from here on out.” (Elena)
Is she threatening me to stay away from the boy, now this is getting out of control I need to find answers first so let’s get it from the source. I talked with the boy again and turns out most people are just punishing him for his father’s crimes while the other students hate him for being smart, after he told me about his situation he went on to say he was going to make the school safe again well enough for us to survive. Before he left though he said that I need to get away from these people because it will kill me, he also said I could survive with others as long as we are willing to work for the strength we need.
“What do you thing that boy is about to do?” (Elena)
“He is going to help us, that boy no Zander will make the school safe enough for us to survive but that is only if we work to be strong enough to survive this new world.” (Mike)
“He is the son of a traitor he will probably leave us to save himself.” (Elena)
“Shut the hell up, Zander is only seventeen and has adapted to this new world in the matter of hours and we are still relying on people that aren’t even coming at least give him a break.” (Mike)
As I walked off I noticed a small knife beside the injured girl that Zander helped, I recognize the dagger from one of the goblins Zander killed.

So Zander isn’t so cold hearted as I thought, I tucked the tagger under the blanket so no one will steal it. As I went to the kitchen for my rations everyone was in a commotion, turns out a propane tank and the flare gun was missing. When I heard this I could only laugh at what Zander’s crazy actions but everyone else was furious about it, Zander might be right about these people but I can’t leave them to die.
