Black Ghost
Prolouge

Prolouge

In a white hospital room, a young man with with black hair was sitting on a hospital bed. The young man’s complexion was a bit pale and his eyes were quite dull as well. Even though he was alive, he didn’t exclude any emotion of happiness what so ever.

He was 15 years old this year but through a twist of fate, he had spent more time of his life in that hospital bed than from outside of it. When he was still small, he suffered a tragic car accident on the road back from visiting his grandparents. His parents had died while her sister was in an indefinite coma, showing no signs of awakening what so ever.

The doctors have given up all hope for her awakening and are only keeping her alive with machine’s only because their grandparents are paying for it. The young man didn’t come out unscathed either as his main organs were all badly damaged and his spinal cord had broken. He could not feel anything below his waist but that wasn’t the worst injury. The worst injury was to his left arm that had been severed from his elbow.

This was also the reason his eyes were dull, he had no way of getting out of this bed since his constitution was quite bad now. At any given time the injured organs may fail and he might die. All he could do was sit in the bed and stare at the ceiling all day, at certain times, doctors came, looked over him and gave him medications and then the cycle repeated.

In his head, he was constantly questioning himself, “Is this kind of life worth living?” or “What is the point of continuing like this?” He had grown quite pessimistic from sitting in the same room for the past ten years.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

He had no friends and the only visitors he had were either the doctors or his grandparents. He found no worth in this kind of a life…. Just as he was looking at the widow with a dull gaze, a gentle voice sounded out in the hospital room, “Good evening, Jack Mist.”

The young man turned towards the voice and could only see a hooded figure dressed in a long black robe standing at the head of his bed.

The figure just smiled and when Jack saw the figures eyes, he felt as though the figure was looking straight into his soul as her lips turned into smile and she said, “If you wish to escape form the confines of this bed and room, I can make you walk again.” After saying so, a spark lit in Jack’s eyes as he asked, “How can you do that?”

The figure smiled as she extended her slender hand toward Jack and added, “If you wish to walk again, take my hand. However, remember that you will never be a part of this world again.” Jack didn’t even need to think about the figures origin or whether this was a prank or not. He had been in this bed for far too long and even if this was just a prank, he could accept it as he extended his only good arm to grab a hold of the slender arm.

Just when he grabbed a hold of the arm, a strong wind picked up as the whole room was engulfed in a bright white light. When Jack opened his eyes again, he was baffled to have appeared in a serene little garden and he suddenly felt weird as he hurriedly looked down and realized that he was standing.

The hooded figure took a few steps back and removed her hood. From under the hood, long black hair escaped it’s bounds as the fairy like young lady said with a smile, “Welcome to the Garden of Eden.”
