When Jack felt his legs for the first time in ten years, all he could do was swallow his saliva in astonishment. He had no idea how the young girl had done it but Jack could not help but ask, “Is this a dream?”
The young lady shook her head and said with a smile, “No, this is not a dream.” Jack used his right hand and slightly pinched his thigh and from the pain he felt, he confirmed two things: 1. This was not a dream and 2.
He could really feel his legs again. However, as soon as the thought flowed into his head, he suddenly felt his legs give away. Even though he fell on his butt, he was exceedingly happy as he continuously moved his toes.
The young lady didn’t disturb him either as she could see that the dullness that had been in Jack’s eyes had disappeared now. After Jack stood up several times and took a few shaky steps, he soon felt completely exhausted. It had been over ten years since he last moved on his own and it was evident that his legs had become weak from not having done exercise or basic movement for that matter.
When Jack had finally exhausted himself from happily moving around and sat down panting, the young lady appeared before him again but this time she wasn’t wearing the long hooded robe but rather a black one piece dress. It was quite plain but her developed breasts truly brought out the best of the snow white skin the young lady had.
As Jack looked at the enchanting young lady, his eyes were drawn to the long pointy ears of hers. As Jack stared at the fairy like young lady in a daze, the young lady smiled as she asked, “Now, have you calmed down?”
Jack weakly nodded his head as even just hearing the gentle voice, his heart was put to rest. The young lady then waved her hand and Jack floated up from the ground and was seated at the table where two teacups were present. The tea was quite aromatic and had very rich flavour.
When Jack had been seated, the young lady sat down at the opposite side and then said, “My introductions are a bit late but better late than never.”
She then extended her hand towards Jack and said, “My name is Malsara and I am the Dark Elves Goddess of Protection. Nice to meet you Jack Mist.” Jack shook Malsaras hand but in his mind the word “Goddess” was springing up a lot questions.
Malsara smiled at Jack and then said, “I know you are confused but let me explain everything in detail now and then you can make you final decision on whether to accept my deal or not.” Jack nodded his head and started listening to Malsara.
Malsara took a deep breath and started, “You see, I am a so called God. I was given birth to by the continuous prayers of the Dark Elves over thousands of years. Besides me, there are other Gods in my world as well.”
Malsara then took a breath and continued, “In the world of Mestra, there are dozens of races and dozens of Gods as well that are the guardian patrons of the Races. Usually we all get along quite well and live in peace but two thousand years ago, the balance was broken.”
Her voice turned cold as she explained, “A God from another World opened a path and led his race, the Demons, to Mestra. Even though we are the guardian patrons of the Races, we can not descend to the world itself.”
She shook her head with a bitter smile as she continued, “Since the world is several times bigger than yours was, the various races laid down their differences and united under the threat of the Demon Invasion and managed to halt their advance.”
She then looked at Jack in the eyes and continued, “However, it was too late as over four fifths of inhabitable land had fallen into the hands of Demons. Even though the various races have managed to survive these past two thousand years, they are at an obvious disadvantage.”
Malsara shook her head again as she explained, “Even though we can’t directly descend to the world to wipe out the Demons, we can still pick certain individuals to give our blessing and send them to the world as our representatives. So now you should understand who I am and why you are here?” Jack nodded his head as he went over the entire explanation again in his head.
Jack then said, “So, I am that representative you have in mind?” Malsara nodded her head and said, “Yes. Me and the rest of the surviving Gods periodically select individuals from Godless Worlds and give them our blessing in exchange for them helping us fight against the Demons.” Jack’s ears perked as he asked, “Surviving Gods?” Malsara released a bitter smile as she said with sorrow, “Gods are born from the countless prayers of a race but what happens when that race ceases to exists? The God of the race will also cease to exists.”
She then raised his head and looked around as she muttered, “These valleys used to be filled with over a hundred Gods drinking, chatting, playing games but now only a pitiful few remain. The rest have all ceased to exists because the races which worshipped them were exterminated.” The tinge of sorrow in Malsara’s voice was very evident and Jack felt bad for making her feel sad again.

Malsara then turned towards Jack again said, “Now that you know what I ask of you, are you willing to cast away your previous world and receive my blessing in order to fight Demons to ensure that the various races do not blink out of existence?” Jack didn’t waver as he said, “Yes, I am.” Malsara was a bit taken aback by the immediate answer but when he thought back to how Jack’s life had been before, she could understand his feelings.
In his own world, he was all alone. No friends, no way to move on his own and constantly hovering on the thin line of life and death. In his own world, there was nothing to live for. Malsara then opened her mouth and asked, “Now then, do you wish to change your race or not?” Jack was a bit taken a back as he asked, “What?”
Malsara took a sip of tea as she explained, “You see, even though I can transport you over to Mestra, I do not have the power to change fate and heal all your injuries. However, I can let your body be reborn as a Dark Elf, the ones that lurk in the shadows.” Maslara took a breath and pointed towards Jack’s missing left hand and said, “If your body is reborn as a Dark Elf, not only will you gain the physique and talents of a Dark Elf, you will also regain your lost arm.”
Jack understood now why Malsara seemed so apologetic. If he accepted her offer, then he would thoroughly cut all ties with his previous world and be reborn as a Gods Representative. After doing so, there will be no way back any more even if he changed his mind. Jack took a deep breath as he carefully deliberated over his next words.
He then closed his eyes as he released the breath, he opened them again and all hesitation had disappeared from his eyes as he said, “I am willing to be reborn.” Malsara gave a smile as she waved her hand and Jack started floating up from his seat. Jack gently floated towards the little clearing from before and then Malsara suddenly appeared before him. She looked him straight in the eyes and said, “Let me remind you, it will be painful.”
Jack didn’t say anything but rather gave a wry smile as he closed his eyes, seeming to have made up his mind. Seeing Jack like that, Malsara smiled sweetly as gentleness passed through her eyes. Malsara then said, “After your body is changed, then you will immediately be sent to Mestra. I will give you my blessing and also pass to you some basic knowledge about the world.” She then took a breath and said, “I wish you luck.”
After saying so, she lightly kissed Jack’s forehead and Jack felt his body warm up. Soon, the warmth was overtaken by burning heat. After that, cracking sounds rang out as Jack felt pain wrack over his entire body. When the pain slowly subsided, Jack was left panting on the ground and even though the pain had subsided, Jack still felt extremely exhausted.
Jack had grown a bit taller and his skin had adapted a lightly bronze hue. His body was several times lighter than before and his strength had grown a bit as well. Jack quickly fell asleep as then pain ended and when the transformation of the body had ended, Malsara looked at Jack with a pale face.
There was a hint of relief in her smile as she took Jack’s head on her lap and slowly caressed it. As Jack slept there soundly, a melodious voice carried over from behind Malsara, “So it’s over. How are you holding up?” This question wasn’t meant for Jack but rather to Malsara that was extremely pale.
Malsara turned her head and a splitting image of her but with blond hair and emerald green eyes stood there. She wore a white one piece that looked exactly like Malsara’s. Malsara smiled at her and said, “I am fine Malassa. I am just a bit tired.”
Malassa seemed a bit not content with the answer but since Malsara said so, she didn’t push it either. She walked next to Jack and squatted next to him as she seemed to ingrain Jack’s features into her memory. She then raised her head towards Malsara and smiled, “Let me send him to Mestra sister. You should have a bit of rest.”
As she said so, a tinge of pain passed Malassas eyes. Malsara gave a weak smile and said, “I will take you up on that offer but first, let me give him the things his predecessor passed down to him.” Malassas eyes opened wide as she seemed to remember something and she asked in astonishment, “You mean he is-”
Malsara nodded her head and cut off Malassa, “Just like divined, a young man with dead eyes in a Godless world, he lost his arm and legs in an accident.” Malsara then ran her fingers through Jack’s head as she continued, “Even though he couldn’t see his complete future, he saw that he stood at the helm of the charge that banished the Demons back to their own world.”
Malassa seemed a bit uneasy as she said, “But didn’t he also say that another future was that he stood at the helm of Demons in completely subjugating Mestra?” Malsara gave a bitter smile and said, “As long as he doesn’t get involved in politics of the Humans or Extremists, he will not side with the Demons.” Malassa didn’t seem content as she immediately asked, “Why do you think that?”
Malsara took a look around and said, “He spent most of his life confined to one bed. There he saw everyone comfort him with smiles in the front and ridicule him behind his back. His eyes in seeing through lies have grown quite sharp.” Malassa didn’t understand what that had to do with anything but before she could ask, Malsara gave her a gentle smile and said, “Besides, “that person” also left behind measures to prevent him from siding with Demons. The equipment is one thing but there are other measures left behind in Mestra.”
Malassa finally decided to hold her tongue and didn’t say anything more. Malsara however sighed, “What Gods are we? We can not even protect our own people in times of need.” Malassa also lowered her head as she took Jack.
She then turned to Malsara and said, “Pass him the things, he can’t stay here much longer.” A ball of black light entered Jack as Malsara passed a paper to Jack’s hands and nodded to Malassa. Malassa’s face turned serious as Jack was engulfed in white light and disappeared from the little garden. After Jack had disappeared, Malsara entered a little cottage at the outskirts of the garden as laid down on the bed. As soon as she did that, her body was enveloped in black mist as she fell into deep hibernation.
From the doorstep, Malassa bit her lip and mumbled, “Sister, why push yourself so far? You are far too weak to summon someone from another world and transform his bloodline like that.” She then exited the cottage and looked up into the sky.
She then mumbled, “These representatives are the last we can send to Mestra. No God no longer has any strength to send a new batch there, so everything is in your hands. I wish you luck.”
