Chapter IV: The Lakeside Bloodbath

Rin Pendragon and her sister—well, more like herself in a different body, but it was hard to tell. Her memories felt fragmented, but her consciousness was clear.

“Other me, I smell my love this way,” Lianna said, her voice tinged with excitement.

Having a double of herself, even if she is taller and has black scales, is the most epic thing in the world! Someone other than Gazei that knows of her life back on Earth. Regular Earth, not the Earth the Gods remade into a violent video game with monsters that can rival dragons. Papa Bakal must be over the moon at the news.

“Ladies, the love of my life is most likely scouting out areas for hunting, knowing him. Rim, go to Viridis Grove and do what he ordered you to do.”

The purple-eyed, white-haired Dragonborn bowed and left right away. “Let’s go, ladies.”

“Yes, my Lady,” the girls cheered back with all the energy the dragon race had. Man, they are so much better than humans.

“He is close.” Lianna, her better half, sniffed the air for her love’s scent. It was hard to refer to Lianna in the third person since they were the same person.

The Vex Dragons' One Mind ability, which translates both bodies' thoughts, actions, and spirit as one, had its issues. The visual problem—one consciousness yet two fields of view—alone made the population of her species nearly extinct due to problems on hunts, sex, and even eating.

Next was the problem of the movement obstacle. When two people make the same movements at the same time, many differences will pop out, even if one is more physically capable while the other finds the loss of her prowess less than what’s normal but has higher brain activity.

Fortunately, she was a reincarnated person like her love, and the One Mind didn’t affect her much. Since the memories of her past life and current life have mixed together. No, it's more correct to say that Rin and Lianna got influenced by her past life.

She was of the Pendragon household, second only to the Bakal clan. Rin and Lianna are the third daughters of Baronet Crush Pendragon. It was nice being the daughter of a Baronet and surprising that the dragon race even had titles and a governmental system. Sure, the Baronet is the second lowest rank, but nevertheless, it's the top position in the Fire region. Papa Bakal very rarely gave out any title to any families under his rule.

“Other me, I'm going to use Detection to find my love,” Lianna said, her eyes glowing. Just as the name suggests, this magic can detect magic power emitted by magic items and creatures. It's a magic invented by Gazei when squids from another dimension invaded the capital a few centuries back.

“I found the direction. He’s to the northwest, moving slowly,” Lianna announced, a faint smile on her lips.

Rin nodded, feeling the familiar excitement building up inside her. They moved quickly and gracefully through the dense forest, their senses heightened, and their movements perfectly synchronized.

As they closed in on Gazei’s location, Rin couldn’t help but feel a rush of anticipation. It had been too long since they were last together, and the thought of being reunited filled her with joy. Her heart pounded in her chest as they broke through the final line of trees and spotted him in a small clearing, inspecting the area for potential hunting spots.

“Gazei!” Rin called out, her voice filled with warmth and affection.

Gazei turned, his eyes lighting up as he saw them. “Hey—”

Before the teenager could speak, Rin and Lianna glomped him, knocking him off his feet and into the grass with a playful yet affectionate tackle.

“Hey, hey! Easy there!” Gazei said, his arms wrapping around them both as he steadied himself.

“Sorry, I missed you,” Rin said, her voice muffled against his chest.

“And we found you so quickly, thanks to my combined effort,” Lianna added, her eyes twinkling with joy.

Gazei turned his gaze towards the other girls. Katsumi, Natsumi, Lei-Lei, Ranga, Shiva, and Belza all looked at him with eyes full of expectation and excitement.

Katsumi, with her fierce demeanor, crossed her arms. “So, what’s the plan, Boss?”

Natsumi, always the energetic one, bounced on her toes. “Yeah, where do we start?”

Lei-Lei, calm and composed, added, “We’re ready for anything.”

Ranga, with a mischievous smile, teased, “Did you miss us?”

Shiva, ever the strategist, nodded. “We need to know our objectives.”

Belza, silent but powerful, simply stood by, her presence a reminder of her strength.

“Get them off me. They are starting to grab at places where the sun doesn’t shine.” The boy deadpanned making his group of girls giggle. Lady Rin and Lady Lianna always do that to him.

The stone forest was made-up of beautiful Maple trees. At least he thinks they are Maple trees because the last time he checked Maple trees don't have geos in them. Nor do they have rocks as branches. Not only that but the ground itself was beautiful as well with small gens in various patches of dirt.

Level 5 to 6 monsters roaming around the woods to an adventurer below level three or two this area was pretty much a dead zone. Even to him and his party Gazei was not sure if they can't even kill one of these monsters.

“Hey boss are we hunting these Stone Wolves?” Katsumi ask eager to get the fight started. She was itching to get her fists ready into the schools on these wolves.

“No” Gazei answered back. “We are going deeper into the forest. My Detection picked a location we might need to try. So we are using Light Speed until I stop.”

“Put all your points into a Agility start by 15". Then add the rest of your points into away never mind. Just raise your Agility” He forgot about the girls straight not doing anything in the towns while travelling towards his location.

“Aye!”

“OK then and let's head off” Gazei ordered and ran as fast as he could and the girls barely followed suit. They weren't slow by any means not even the monsters could catch up to the to the dragon borns. Thier scores were just too low.

After running over 10 minutes, Gazei any others arrived at a clearing near waterfall that stood over 100 meters. The watering hole was huge and and the water sparkle like diamonds.

Gazei And the others walked forward to the lake. In his previous life many games like to help like to hide hidden treasures behind places like these. What can they find here can be anything. Where orders herds and maybe even treasure chests.

Since the gods love copying from MMORPG's They must have hide many different loots in many different areas. And in those places are treasure chests. The items in treasure chests are vast ranging from money to broken equipment just like the one he got before.

The quality of treasure chest are categorized in the same rarity as ranks. Brass, bronze silver gold platinum and oricalcum.

“I think we should buy this piece of land master.” Natsumi said.

Looking at the girl like she was crazy, Gazei just shook his head. He could barely afford drinks; there was no way he could buy a piece of land filled with monsters. Plus, you need to have a good amount of reputation just to even buy a small shop.

“We can’t right now. The total money we have is about 50 Yen. That is not enough to fully fund my love for a decent weapon. We need to find a blueprint for Meg to build, or Rim to make food, or me to make a potion for us to sell,” Rin said.

To make money in D.M.A. Online, you need blueprints for equipment and recipes for potions and foods. That’s how you make the big bucks.

“You’re going to be Al—” Gazei was cut off by the system notification that appeared in front of them.

“Why are we getting 200 Yen for such a low-level area?” Gazei gaped at the rewards. The quest was simply too generous and absurd. Money, a rare blueprint, and a potion for magic classes.

His answer came swiftly with the emergence of a Rock Wurm and a Water Crocodile from the lake.

[Rock Wurm] (E-Rank Monster)

* Level: 5

* HP: 700/700

[Water Crocodile] (E-Rank Monster)

* Level: 5

* HP: 600/600

The creatures were massive, their scales glistening in the sunlight. The Rock Wurm's segmented body undulated as it moved, each segment covered in rocky armor that looked nearly impenetrable. The Water Crocodile, equally imposing, snapped its jaws, revealing rows of sharp teeth.

Before they could react, a swarm of smaller creatures began emerging from the underbrush and the water, surrounding the party.

[Stone Serpents] (F-Rank Monster)

* Level: 3

* HP: 100/100

[Aqua Snappers] (F-Rank Monster)

* Level: 3

* HP: 80/80

Gazei’s eyes widened at the sheer number of enemies. He quickly took command of the situation. “Katsumi, you will take on the Serpents! Shiva, the Snappers! Lianna, Rin, and I will take on the bosses. Ranga and Lei-Lei, you are on support. Ranga, heal when necessary, and Lei-Lei, support Shiva and Katsumi whenever they are in trouble! NOW GO!”

Gazei activated War Cry, boosting his allies' morale and combat effectiveness. The roar echoed through the clearing, invigorating the party.

Katsumi grinned, blitzing between the Stone Serpents, kicking and punching their jaws, her blows ricocheting off the snakes and increasing the damage. She followed up with Raging Blow and Axe Kick.

Damage: -7, -9, -10, -20, -18

“Huh, I feel like my attacks are being suppressed,” Katsumi said, dodging and countering the Stone Serpents with ease.

“Same here…” Shiva raised her shield, knocking three Aqua Snappers into a group. She landed three attacks and used Sonic Wave, slamming her longsword into the ground to unleash a shockwave that struck the opponents at a distance.

Damage: -20, -17, -13

Lianna charged at the Rock Wurm, her claws flashing as she slashed at its rocky armor. She used Apply Poison, coating her claws with a toxic substance that slowly drained the Wurm’s health.

Damage: -15 (initial), -5 (poison)

Meanwhile, Rin hung back, casting spells from a distance. She raised her hands, summoning a Fire Pillar beneath the Rock Wurm, the flames engulfing its body.

Damage: -50

Switching tactics, Rin used Wind Blast to push the Aqua Snappers away from Shiva, giving her some breathing room. The gust of wind sent the creatures tumbling back.

Damage: -20, -15, -12

Ranga stayed at the rear, casting Heal whenever someone took damage, ensuring the party stayed in top condition.

Lei-Lei used her Nen Beads, throwing them at the Stone Serpents. The beads exploded on impact, dealing damage and slowing the serpents down.

Damage: -10, -12, -14

Gazei saw an opening and lunged at the Rock Wurm, his polearm finding a gap in its armor. The Wurm shrieked, its HP dropping.

[Rock Wurm]

* HP: 500/700

“Keep it up! We’re wearing it down!” Gazei shouted.

Meanwhile, the Water Crocodile sprayed a high-pressure Water Jet at Lei-Lei, who dodged it narrowly. Rin countered with Fireball, the blazing sphere hitting the Crocodile and reducing its HP.

Damage: -45

[Water Crocodile]

* HP: 450/600

The Stone Serpents and Aqua Snappers swarmed, but the party held their ground. Each member fought valiantly, their teamwork and coordination turning the tide of battle.

Lianna continued her assault on the Rock Wurm, her poisoned claws tearing into its flesh. The poison took its toll, weakening the Wurm further. Finally, with a synchronized strike from Gazei and Lianna, they brought it down.

[Rock Wurm]

* HP: 0/700

“Great job! Now, focus on the Crocodile!” Gazei commanded.

The Water Crocodile, sensing its impending defeat, lashed out with ferocity. But the combined efforts of Gazei, Rin’s Water Bullet, and the rest of the party proved too much. With a final coordinated attack, they defeated the Crocodile.

[Water Crocodile]

* HP: 0/600

Breathing heavily, the party regrouped. The battlefield was littered with the remains of the Stone Serpents and Aqua Snappers.

As the notification appeared, each member felt a surge of energy, their XP bars filling up. Gazei looked around at his companions, a sense of pride swelling in his chest.

“We did it,” Rin said, a wide smile on her face. “We actually did it.”

“Not bad for a low-level quest,” Katsumi added, stretching her arms. “The rewards were worth it.”

Shiva nodded, her shield still raised in a defensive stance. “Let’s see what we got.”

The party gathered around as Gazei opened the reward chest that had appeared at the center of the battlefield. Inside, they found various items and a shimmering skill book.

“These will come in handy,” Gazei said, distributing the items. “Rin, the skill book is yours. It should help you with your elemental spells.”

D.M.A Online just went live so adventurers don't so he sell both the weapon and armor for money. Elemental resistance is useless to the Dragon born race with known high elemental and magic resistance. And no one can use the arcane sword anyway.

Today was a good day. Gazei learned many things about the game. Monsters not only drop equipment, materials, and money but they also drop meat as well.

“What should we do with the corpses?” Ranga asked, looking at the battlefield.

"Take them with us. I think the Hunter class might have some use for them." Gazei ordered as he picked up the money from the monsters.

It was total of 25 Bronze Won... All that work for such little reward in money is crazy. "Yup... today was just lady luck not being bitch. I doubt she going to be nice to me tomorrow."
