Chapter 1 - Noah Butler
He looked around the unfamiliar room.
It was cold and dark, just the way he liked it.
There was a knock on the door. He could guess who it was.
"Do you like your new room? "
A soft, feminine voice that could melt the heart of the receiver came from the door.
"It's fine "
The boy simply answered.
Happy with an answer, the woman quietly left the room.
The boy got up and strode towards the mirror.
He stared at his own reflection.
He had short jet black hair, blue eyes and a very pale complexion. He stood around 140 cm tall.
An average height for 12 year olds, he thought.
He looked closer to the mirror, and realised he had a beauty spot near his right eye.
To put it simply, he looked nothing like the rest of his new family.
'Anyone could guess that I'm adopted '
He thought to himself.
Noah Dwayne, now Noah Butler has been recently adopted into a wealthy family.
Unlike most kids, he knew the exact reason on why such a wealthy family would
want to adopt a kid like him.
His real family had to give him away not because they want to,
but because of financial problems.
His parents couldn't take care of Noah because the boy needed special care.
Noah had Hypoglycemia, someone who suffers from Hypoglycemia often find themselves losing conciousness
after vigorous exercises.
Hypoglycemia is a condition in which your body has low blood sugar. When this occurs, you can faint, experience a seizure, or even go into a coma.
As a result, Noah's parent had to frequently send him to the hospital.
A wealthy family could easily cover the hospital bills, and by that thought his parents decided to send Noah away so that he could live healthily.
But that's not the only reason.
Noah was what you call a child genius. He was smarter than most kids his age, even to some of the older ones.
He could solve mathematical and scientific problems without batting an eyelash, and could easily learn another language.
He now speaks five different laguanges.
English, French, Mandarin, Swedish and Italian.
He could even enter college at the tender age of 12.

He gained a new younger sister and a brother his age from his new family.
Honestly, he was quite pleased.
Since he was an only child before, he was always alone at home.
He did appreciate peace, but he couldn't help but feel lonely sometimes.
He opened the window in his new room. A soft, cool breeze swept his face.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
His room was on the 3rd floor of the mansion. Outside, he could see a pretty fountain that resembled a huge bird.
He observed the fountain, the bird seemed to have human hands and instead of feathers, it had hair.
The water was blue, much to his surprise.
He had never actually seen blue water before, only in cartoons.
His eyes lingered towards the sound of chirping that could be heard from his room.
From a distance, he could see a lot of different species of birds in a white cage.
He thought that maybe this family was huge on birds.
They even trimmed trees like birds.
He rubbed his eyes, closed the window and sat on his bed.
He reached for his backpack on the coffee table and took out the mobile phone that was given to him by his step father.
He never held a real phone before, only toys.
He remember his step father telling him that he could call his parents whenever he missed them.
He tapped on the contact icon and immediately saw his mother's name on the screen.
He wondered if he should call them now but decided not to after realizing that they live on different sides of the world now.
Since it was evening here, it should be midnight over there.
He put his phone down on the coffee table, and lied down flat on his stomach.
Just when he was about to close his eyes, someone knocked on the door.
"Noah? Can I come in?"
This time it was a masculine voice.
It was Butler, his step father.
Noah quickly got up from his bed to open the door.
It creaked when Noah pulled it open.
A man in his 30's stood tall in front of his room, he squated so that he could match Noah's height.
Much to Noah's demise. He really doesn't like it when people do it to him.
"I'll get this door fixed later", he said as he ruffled the boy's black hair.
Noah simply stared at him, not knowing what to say.
The tanned man got up on his feet again and entered the room.
He walked around for a while and stared into an empty space at the corner beside Noah's bed.
He then turned around to look at Noah.
"I heard you can play the piano?", he asked with a smile.
"Yes, I can", Noah answered nervously.
Not only the piano, Noah can play the violin and the harp too.
Since his father was a great yet humble music teacher, he was taught to play musical instruments ever since he turned 3.
"Should I get you a piano then?", Butler asked while touching his chin as if he was making a decision.
Before Noah could open his mouth to answer, Butler suddenly put his hands on his hips.
"No, I will buy you a piano"
Noah simply nodded at his step father's decision. Who lets a kid decide anyway?
"Oh that's right!", Butler suddenly exclaimed.
"I was sent to bring you downstairs so that you could meet your new siblings!"
Even though Butler had a stern face, he was a very cheerful person.
Noah hoped that his siblings would not be bothersome to live with.
Without much time to actually react , Butler took hold of Noah's hand and led him downstairs where he could hear cheerful laughters .
