As the morning sun spilled through her bedroom window, 16-year-old Sarah reluctantly stirred from her slumber. She remembered what she was doing before waking up on her bed. She shouted.
"Not Again!!!"
She muted down after that shout and the room became silent. The soft hum of an alarm echoed in the room, a stark reminder of the unfinished task that lingered in her thoughts. With a sigh, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed, feeling the cool floor beneath her feet.
The room was bathed in a delicate hue, but Sarah's expression remained clouded with irritation. She recalled her unsuccessful attempt to complete the task before she died and returned to her starting point. The only evidence that what she experienced was not a dream was the floating prompt in front of her.
[YOU HAVE DIED. YOU HAVE RETURNED TO YOUR ORIGINAL BOOK. TO GO TO THE MAIN MENU SELECT CONTINUE.]
[CONTINUE]
She selected and continued to the main menu where the following was shown.
[PROFILE]
[HINT]
[TRANSFER]
[MARKET]
[STORAGE]
[EXIT]
She chose the [PROFILE] option so that she could see where her points stand as of now.
[PROFILE]
[NAME: SARAH MILES]
[ROLE: MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER FRIEND]
[BOOK: STARRY-EYED SWEETHEARTS]
[POINT: 141,777]
[BACK]
Sarah was disappointed when she looked at her points. She had spent so much points so that she could finish her latest task but it came to nothing because she died.
Sarah went back to the main menu and chose the [EXIT] option but all it showed her was what she was used to seeing since she first got it.

[INSUFFICIENT POINTS!!!]
[BACK]
She removed the prompt from her sight. Her gaze lingered on the clock ticking away on the wall, thinking of what to do now. But then she realized that she had got a "ROLE" to play since she has returned to her original book. If she deviates from her intended "ROLE" then her points will be deducted.
Sarah could choose the [TRANSFER] option to move to the next book by the usage of "POINT" but she was not in the right mind to [TRANSFER] to another book right now. Therefore, she decided to stay in her original book for a while.
With a determined exhale, Sarah pushed herself up, her messy hair falling over her shoulders. The unfinished task loomed over her like a persistent shadow, but she had a "ROLE" to play.
*****
Amid the soft hum of laughter and the occasional murmur of distant conversations, Sarah emerged from the communal bathroom of the girl's dormitory. Droplets of water clung to her fair skin, catching the gentle glow of the overhead lights.
In the privacy of her dorm room, the air was infused with the scent of soap and shampoo as she towel-dried her blonde hair. A wardrobe adorned with a mix of neatly pressed uniforms and a few casual wardrobe choices stood at attention, waiting for her selection.
With a tired expression, Sarah chose her school uniform, a crisp representation of the institution's identity. The pleated skirt rustled softly as she slipped it on, the dove emblem on her blouse, a symbol of hope. The soft chatter from neighboring rooms accompanied the rhythmic zipping of her uniform.
Sarah's reflection in the mirror revealed a mix of apprehension and fatigue. She adjusted her tie with practiced fingers, the emblematic plaid of the school wrapping around her neck like a badge of honor.
As the last button found its place, Sarah completed her metamorphosis, ready to face the world of "STARRY EYED SWEETHEARTS". With a subtle sigh, Sarah stepped out of her dormitory room in the girl's boarding school perched on a tranquil hill.
The corridors echoed with the muffled footsteps of fellow students, each immersed in their morning routines. But she knew that all the actions the surrounding students are partaking in are scripted from the beginning. From every speech said to another to the very movement of their steps, all things follow the directions of the book and she is the odd one out to be aware of this.
The creak of the dormitory door closing marked the beginning of Sarah's journey to the day's challenges. The first challenge started just a few meters outside of the dormitory door where the main female character slipped and fell right in front of her.
