As the carriage rolled along the winding road, the church hall of Silverbrook grew smaller in the distance. Alex stared out the window, his mind abuzz with the possibilities that lay ahead. He pondered the class he had chosen, the Swordmage, and the skills and talents that came with it. Although disappointed by his level cap, he was determined to make the most of his abilities and prove himself. Alex thought, "I only need to wait for five more years to unlock my other talents."
"Hey, Dad, what can you tell me about Swordmages?" Alex broke the silence, turning to his father, who sat beside him.
Lysander turned his attention away from the passing scenery and smiled at his son's curiosity. "Ah, Swordmages. They are a unique class that combines the art of swordplay with arcane magic. They have the ability to infuse their blades with elemental energy, enhancing their attacks with the power of fire, lightning, or other elements. They are versatile fighters who can wield both physical and magical prowess."
"That sounds really cool," Alex replied, a spark of excitement igniting within him. "I can't wait to learn more about it and become a skilled Swordmage." He thought to himself, 'Damn, why am I acting like a kid?'
His father chuckled, his eyes filled with pride. "I have no doubt that you will become a formidable Swordmage, Alex. Although you are limited by your current level, just remember to train hard, hone your skills, and never stop learning."
After the conversation, the carriage trundled along the winding road, the rhythmic clip-clop of the horses' hooves accompanying the Ravenscroft family on their journey back home. Alex gazed out of the window, his mind filled with thoughts about his newly awakened class and talent.
"I am a Swordmage," he whispered to himself, testing out the words. The idea of wielding both a sword and magic intrigued him, as it offered a versatile and powerful combination. "And I have the talent of Inventory. I wonder how it works."
Curiosity burned within him, eager to explore the possibilities of his talent. As they arrived home, Alex wasted no time in heading to his room. He closed the door behind him, creating a space of solitude where he could experiment without interruption.
Sitting cross-legged on the floor, Alex focused his thoughts on his talent. "Inventory," he whispered, imagining a menu appearing before him.
Suddenly, a translucent interface materialized, displaying a grid-like inventory space. Alex's eyes widened in excitement as he realized the potential at his fingertips. He reached out and imagined placing an apple in the inventory. With a mental command, the apple disappeared from his hand and reappeared within the inventory grid.

"This is amazing!" Alex exclaimed, a grin spreading across his face. "I can store items within my mind."
With newfound enthusiasm, Alex experimented further, storing various items in his inventory and retrieving them at will. The possibilities seemed endless. He pondered the practical applications of this talent—carrying essential tools, supplies, or even concealing valuable items.
As he immersed himself in exploring his talent, time slipped away, and soon the setting sun cast its warm hues upon the village of Silverbrook. The aroma of dinner wafted through the house, drawing Alex out of his reverie. The savory scent guided him to the dining area, where his family had gathered. His father, mother, and little sister Lily welcomed him with smiles and open arms.
"Welcome back, Alex. We were wondering where you had disappeared to," his mother said, setting a plate of food before him.
"I was just experimenting with my talent, Inventory. It's incredible!" Alex replied, his excitement bubbling over.
His
father chuckled, patting him on the back. "That's great, son. Having a rare talent like that will certainly be advantageous."
Lily, ever curious, tugged at Alex's sleeve. "Brother, can I see your talent too?"
Alex nodded, reaching out his hand toward his sister. A small apple appeared in his palm. "This is my inventory," he explained, demonstrating his control over his talent. "With it, I can store and retrieve anything that I put inside just by thinking it."
Lily's eyes widened in awe as she watched the apple appear and disappear. "Wow, that's amazing, brother!"
As dinner progressed, Alex shared his experience at the awakening ceremony. "I wonder what adventures await you, Alex," his mother mused, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Alex swallowed a mouthful of food, his mind already filled with visions of embarking on grand quests and exploring uncharted territories. "I can't wait to see what this world has in store for me."
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Alex delved into his studies to familiarize himself with his new abilities. He honed his swordsmanship skills under his father's guidance and practiced his arcane techniques, learning to channel his mana into devastating attacks. His progress impressed his family as he could already use his natural affinity for water and lightning magic.
As Alex continued his training as a Swordmage, he sat down, panting heavily. "Haaa, haaa, this is tiring. Let me see what my current status is," he called out the word "status" in his mind, and a game-like interface appeared.

"So this is my current status. It has a new category called Spells. I have a total of 10 spells. It's sad that I can't learn a new spell because of my level. I can only get 5 spells per element at levels 1-10. At level 11, Mom said that I can learn tier 2 spells and get 5 new slots for my tier 1 spells. Also, I can pick a new skill every 10 levels," Alex thought.
Examining his current status, Alex couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment at his level cap. The knowledge that he couldn't learn tier 2 spells at this stage weighed heavily on his mind. "That's why the priest said I'm unlucky," he murmured softly, realizing the limitations imposed upon him.
"Alex! Get up, break is over," his father called out, bringing Alex back to reality. Alex grabbed his wooden sword, ready to resume training.
