"Oi! Stop!" A passerby exclaimed as he walked towards the rabid Rein. The man's skin looked a lot rougher than normal. Slowly small cracks started to form on his arm. Rough patches of his skin protruded out to his shoulders, forming some sort of spiky rock formation.
Both the man's arms now resembled that of a rough art sculpture, he lunged towards Rein with one of his rock arms ready to deliver a hit, but before he could do that, I stepped in front of him. Stepping between the two, I put up both of my arms to block my head and took the man's punch head on.
The impact was so strong that it sent me flying. The man looked confused, but he didn't let that bother him. He once again went and lunged towards Rein--
"Stop!" I yelled as loud as I could. Luckily the man heard me as he stopped his punch. By now Rein was already in a daze. It was what happened everytime he went berserk. He would be stuck in a dazed state for as long as four hours.
Struggling to get up, I watched as Rein stood there emotionless. His eyes were pitch black, that creepy smile he had earlier was nowhere to be found.
I slowly limped towards the rock-armed man. Placing my hand on Rein's shoulder so i wouldn't fall over, I said--
"It's a misunderstanding, please don't." I muttered. The man looked confused. He had every right to be. For him, what he saw was a poor guy getting beaten up by an even smaller guy. "Misunderstanding? Your friend or whatever, mercilessly stomped on that guy over there. I don't know which part of that is a misunderstanding." He replied as he pointed his rocky finger at the man on the floor. At this point even I wondered why no one has helped him yet.
He was right. Even when it's because of his gift, Rein was still in the wrong. For all he knew the guy must've been on an emergency of his own, maybe that's why he didn't get a chance to apologize to Ella.
Speaking of Ella, it looked like the lady I asked to watch over her couldn't wait any longer as she went and followed me, bringing Ella to where we were. I watched as she looked at us with nervous eyes.
Looking back at the rock-armed man, I tried of thinking of an excuse. I obviously didn't want Rein to get charged for anything, since it was partially my fault, maybe it was because I was hurt, or maybe it's because of what happened these past few days that the best excuse that came to my mind was--

"That guy, he stole from him." I said as I pointed at the unconscious guy. 'God, someone pick him up, I'm starting to feel bad for the guy' I thought as he continued to lay unconscious with no one even bothering to help. More than half of the crowd earlier already dissipated, probably because they didn't want to see anymore trouble, but that was a good thing, I guess. The less witnesses, the easier I could pull this off.
I then pointed at what the guy was holding tightly in his hands before he got beaten up. It looked like a black bag, it could've contained money for all I care, but for now it was mine--
"That bag, t-that guy snatched it from me. I-it was supposed to be for my little sister's birthday. R-Rein didn't mean it. He was just t-trying to help me." I muttered, adding in a few little sobs as I went. I looked at the man with tears welling in my eyes.
Startled, the man immediately tried to console me. A friend beats up a guy for stealing his other friend's money that was supposed to be for his little sister, it was the perfect sob story, but I was probably too careless, as someone from the sidelines pointed out something--
"Bag? Isn't that just a piece of cloth folded over something? Even more, it doesn't even look like it's cash that's in there." He said. I immediately made a late double take. Peeking over my shoulders I could see, the man picking it up, it did indeed look like just a piece of cloth wrapped around something circular.
'Shit. Bad timing.' I immediately tried to change the topic but before I could even say something, the rock-armed man said something to the guy--
"Hm? That's a bag though?" He said. The man holding the piece of cloth was confused, he didn't know any bag that would look like this, at least that's what he thought. He looked at the piece of cloth once again, only to be met by a black backpack. Startled by the sudden change, the man dropped it and immediately backed off. Everyone around us also started saying that it was a backpack. They sneered as they looked at the man who picked it up.
'What?' I thought to myself. I was wondering why they were saying it was a bag. I could clearly see it was just a piece of cloth. I could even see the blue thing peek out of it, but everyone around me seemed to simultaneously agree that it was indeed a backpack, maybe there was a new trend I was missing out on, whatever it was, it was working in my favor.
I walked towards the 'bag' and picked it up. Stepping over the unconscious man who was still on the floor, I made my way towards the still dazed Rein. I then guided him towards Ella. The rock-armed man whose arms were now back to normal didn't even bother to stop me. It was as if everything already got resolved.
I let out a small sigh of relief as I guided the two out of the mall, but before I knew it my legs started to shake violently. My whole body started to tremble as my eyes slowly started to droop, and before I knew it. I was on the ground.
